When she caught up with E! News recently, Tamblyn, who played the practical Tibby in both Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants movies, hinted that we may be closer than we originally thought to getting a Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 3.
“I have no information about that right now,” said Tamblyn. “But I can obviously tell you that something is definitely in the works.”
Tamblyn’s comment on a third installment of the beloved coming-of-age series lines up pretty well with what America Ferrera had to say when she appeared on the Meredith Vieira Show just last year.
“There’s no green light, but it’s definitely in the works,” said Ferrera, who plays Carmen, about the possibility of Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 3. “There is a script being written.”
The films are based off author Ann Brashares best-selling young adult series and for the most part, the first two movies loosely follow the first four books in the series.
If Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 3 ever gets off the ground, we’re thinking it would probably be loosely follow the plot of Brashares’ fifth novel, Sisterhood Everlasting. The fifth story picks up 10 years later and finds Tibby living in Australia, Lena working as an art teacher in Rhode Island, Bridget living in San Francisco, and Carmen working as an actress in New York.
