It’s difficult enough for Oliver Queen to protect the citizens of Starling City from a cadre of ever-changing supervillains on Arrow, but when you factor in The Flash’s metahumans and the miscreants from Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl, even the world’s largest quiver wouldn’t be enough to save the world from certain destruction.
The CW’s resident arrow-slinger Stephen Amell recently opened up to MTV News about his thoughts concerning the network’s much-anticipated four-way mega crossover episode, which features characters from Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl. While Arrow has done crossover episodes with The Flash and helped introduce elements of Legends of Tomorrow, Amell is curious as to how the four-show crossover is going to work.
“They have to show me how they’re going to do this magical four-show crossover,” Amell told MTV News. “It was hard enough when it was two shows and mixing in Legends a little bit. To make it four shows? I’m dumbfounded.”
As fans shift their attention to the collective CW Superhero Universe, Amell’s focus is on maintaining the high quality of Arrow.
“I’ve been thinking a lot about this, and I think the writers have as well,” Amell continued. “We had a discussion, and I said, ‘Look man. Arrow was set up as a very specific thing, and it’s up to us to do what we do. And what we do, we do better than anyone else on TV.’ Part of the price of success is that we’ve had to introduce other shows. We can always get around new powers and people from other planets, but it is important that when all that dust settles that we are focusing on what we do well.”
You can catch Amell as Casey Jones in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, which is now playing nationwide.
