Team Dean fans everywhere may be eagerly awaiting the return of Rory’s first love on Netflix’s Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, but actor Jared Padelecki recently hinted that his stay in Stars Hollow may be short, but sweet.

According to Us Weekly, the actor attended a Supernatural convention in late May where he teased what fans could expect to see when he reprises his role as Dean.

“[Creator Amy Sherman Palladino] basically said, ‘Listen, we’re going to write you a really cool scene, and if you get the day off let us know— we will just put your scene on the schedule for that day,’” explained Padelecki. “She was like, ‘it’s a set that we already run and own, [and] it’s an actress that already is working every day, so let us know.”

An actress that’s already working every day? We’re really hoping that actress in question happens to be Alexis Bledel! After all, a run-in between Dean and Rory is definitely high on our list of things we’re hoping to see when the highly anticipated revival finally hits the internet!

Of course, Padelecki wouldn’t disclose too many more details on his big return to Gilmore Girls, but he did let slip that Dean has “a cool scene” at Doose’s Market.

“It’s a nice, a really nice scene that gave me closure. I never had closure,” added the actor of playing Dean the first time around. “So it was fun to go wrap it up in a really cool way.”

We can’t wait to find out what Dean has been up to after all these years— especially after hearing that Jared Padelecki is pleased with what creator Amy Sherman-Palladino wrote for him!
