Could Fantastic Four star Jamie Bell be the next 007? It’s definitely a possibility!
According to ComicBookMovie.com, the 30-year-old Brit, who rose to fame in his debut role as Billy Elliott in Fantastic Four, has reportedly met with producer Barbara Broccoli to discuss taking over the coveted role of the spy with a license to kill.
British outlet The Sun was the first to report that talks between Bell and Broccoli are currently in the very early stages. Meanwhile, a report that appeared via Deadline mentioning that Bell is currently in the running, has only added fuel to the casting rumor fire.
Ever since the internet got wind of the fact that current Bond, Dainel Craig, may be ready to depart the franchise, fans far and wide have been campaigning for who they think the next James Bond should be. On the casting front, obvious frontrunners such as Idris Elba and Tom Hiddleston have all been rumored to be serious contenders, but Bond aficionados have taken to the internet to suggest a different approach of casting the next 007.
Earlier this week, fans used the hashtag #NextBond to suggest that it might be time for the franchise to switch things up and enlist a female to take over the coveted role. X-Files alum Gillain Anderson was one of the more popular picks. Meanwhile, Quantico star Priyanka Chopra also made headlines when she mentioned during her Complex cover story interview that she’d rather play James Bond than a Bond Girl.
As amazing as it would be to see either Chopra or Anderson take over the franchise, we’re sure whoever gets picked to be the next James Bond will be the right person for the job.
