Bad news, Limitless fans. Brian Finch’s (Jake McDorman) journey is officially over.

After much speculation about the fate of the CBS series, Limitless showrunner Craig Sweeny took to Twitter on Wednesday (May 25) to let fans know that the show has been canceled.

“I’m truly sad to report that #Limitless will not continue on any platform,” tweeted Sweeny. “Thanks so much to everyone who watched.”

Despite the fact that CBS announced at their Upfronts presentation earlier this month that they had decided to pull the plug on the series after just one season, fans of the show were hopeful that it could potentially find another home.

According to VarietyCBS president Glenn Geller revealed during that same presentation that the network was looking into shopping Limitless around to other networks. Unfortunately, no one took the bait.

CBS had high hopes for the drama, which premiered with decent numbers. But as the series progressed, viewership steadily fell.

Based on the hit 2011 movie of the same name and executive produced by its star Bradley Cooper, Limitless followed a washed up musician named Brian Finch (Jake McDorman) who uses the powers of his brain on the super drug NZT to help the FBI crack cases. Cooper appeared in a handful of episodes, reprising the character he played on the big screen.

We’re definitely sad to see Limitless go after just one season and we’re sure we’re not the only ones who would have loved to see Brian’s adventures continue!
