While the blockbuster news of a monumental DC crossover event featuring characters from The Flash, Arrow, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, and The CW’s latest superhero acquisition Supergirl, stole the headlines during network’s annual Upfronts in New York City last Thursday, this week all eyes are on the season two finale of The Flash.
We caught up with Gustin at The CW Upfronts where the actor revealed that Barry is in a “very broken place” during the last episode of the season.
“We pick up exactly where we left off with the last episode with Henry Allen getting a hand through his chest. So we pick up there, and obviously Barry’s in a very broken place,” Gustin told People’s Choice.
In the official trailer for the season finale, titled “The Race of His Life,” the Zoom challenges The Flash to a race to "see who's the fastest man alive." Meanwhile, Wells warns Barry that his quest for revenge won't end well. Whether or not Barry loses and how it'll play out come season 3 remains to be seen, but Gustin did offer a bit of a cryptic tease as to what fans can expect when The Flash picks up again in the fall.
Said Gustin: "Going into next season, I think the timeline will also be in a very vulnerable place, so it'll be an interesting time for The Flash when season three starts."
The season finale of The Flash airs tomorrow night at 8/7c on The CW.
