Britney’s definitely still got it!

As the 2016 Billboard Music Awards got underway on Sunday (May 22), everyone in pop music was buzzing about Britney Spears. The 34-year-old singer is receiving the Millennial Award tonight for her lifelong contributions as a certified chart-topper. They don’t call her the “princess of pop” for nothing.

But before accepting the honor, the Louisiana-raised singer took the stage as the show’s opener to remind all the youngins’ in the audience (Zendaya, Ariana Grande, and Fifth Harmony, to name just a few) what it’s like to own the pop throne. Though some fans thought Britney would be debuting a new single tonight, the blonde bombshell stuck to her classics. In a red get-up and knee-high boots, Britney wowed with a medley of her early 2000’s era hits like “Oops I Did It Again” “I’m A Slave 4 U” and “Toxic.” She even gave a nod to her acting days by throwing in her cover of “I Love Rock and Roll” that she originally performed in 2002’s Crossroads. Judging from the audience pan shots of the crowd and the overwhelming reaction on social media, Spears hit it out of the park!

A permanent fixture on the Las Vegas strip since 2013 with her show, Britney: Piece of Me, the singer once again proved that no one can quite work a room (or, in this case, an arena) like she can.

Bravo, Brit! That Millennial Award is well deserved.
