The 2016 Billboard Music Awards were jam packed with stellar performances from some of the hottest stars in music. But despite the insanely awesome lineup, there were definitely a few performances that stood out among the rest.

Relive the night or catch up on what you missed with our recap of 12 of our favorite performances below:

1. Britney Spears kicks things off with an energetic medley.
There’s no denying Britney Spears is still the reigning Princess of Pop. The singer got the party started by performing an infectious mash-up of some of her most popular songs, including “Womanizer” and “I’m A Slave 4 U.”

2. Shawn Mendes performs a stripped down version of “Stitches.”
Shawn Mendes was center stage as he performed a beautiful acoustic rendition of his hit single. A rainy backdrop served as the perfect set to drive home the meaning behind his beautiful lyrics!

3. Fifth Harmony delivers a sultry performance of their hit single, “Work.”
The ladies of Fifth Harmony graced us with a flawless performance of their latest hit single. Despite the fact that the girls’ choreography was ridiculously on point, it was their stellar vocals that really stole the show.

4. Meghan Trainor and Zendaya share a moment during the singer’s performance.
The “No” singer turned the entire award show into one epic party when she took to the aisles and started dancing with everyone in attendance, including Zendaya. The pair jammed out to the chorus of Trainor’s infectious single at one point during the performance.

5. Pink sets the house aflame..
We’re not sure what was more impressive: watching Pink fly through the air at the beginning of her performance, or seeing her set a huge clock aflame just before her performance of “Just Like Fire” ended.

6. Nick Jonas and Demi Lovato give us a taste of their summer tour with back-to-back performances.
Between Nick’s  duet with Tov Lo and Demi’s fierce performance of “Cool For The Summer,” it’s safe to say the bar has been set high for the duos summer tour.

7. Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton hit the stage to perform their new hit single.
Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton win for the cutest performance of the night. No special effects were needed as the real life couple took joined together to perform their new hit single, “Go On And Break My Heart.”

8. Adele releases her brand-new highly anticipated music video.
Since she wasn’t in attendance at this year’s awards, Adele didn’t technically perform, but she still managed to bring down the house with the premiere of her music video for “Send My Love To Your New Lover.”

9. Kesha pays tribute to Bob Dylan.
The “Tick Tock” artist showed off her softer side, and her stellar pipes, with a beautiful cover of Bob Dylan’s “It Aint Me, Babe.”

10. Celine Dion and Lindsey Stirling team up for a powerful performance.
Celine Dion proved she’s still got it when she took the stage to perform Queen’s “The Show Must Go On,” with YouTube sensation Lindsey Stirling. After, the singer was presented with this year’s Icon Award by her son, Dion gave an emotional speech and touching speech saying, “I want to thank the fans for traveling in music with me in good and bad times,” before dedicating the award to her late husband René Angélil.

11. Ariana Grande debuts her new single.
Ariana Grande pulled out all the stops when it came to debuting her new single, “So Into You.” The Dangerous Woman and her crew of backup dancers got the crowd going with an energetic performance of the second single off her sophomore album. We think it’s pretty clear Grande has another hit on her hands with this one!

12. Madonna pays tribute to Prince.
The Queen of Pop pulled out all the stops when it came to honoring her friend and fellow icon, Prince. Madge kicked things off by performing a touching rendition of Prince’s “Nothing Compares 2 U,” before inviting the legendary Stevie Wonder to join her on stage. Together, Wonder and Madonna led the crowd in sing along of “Purple Rain.”
