Luke Mitchell has no hard feelings about getting killed off ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. In fact, he’s making jokes about it online already.
During Wednesday night’s season 3 finale, it was revealed that someone would die in a space-bound jet. In the end, that unlucky member turned out to be Lincoln Campbell (Mitchell) who sacrificed himself to save both Daisy (Chloe Bennet) and their world as we know it, preventing the Hive from turning humanity into Primitives.
The Aussie actor has played the electrifying (pun intended) Lincoln Campbell since season 2 of the superhero series and was moved up to a series regular in season 3.
Not taking the loss too much to heart, Mitchell tweeted shortly after the finale last night, “And that’s called going out with a BANG!
Entertainment Weekly also caught up with Mitchell during his last day on set to see how he was handling his imminent demise.
“If you’re going to die, I couldn’t have written a better ending for the character. Yeah, there’s a little bit of, ‘Cool. Save the girl. Save the world. Great.’ Knowing what Daisy has seen [in the prophecy], then going, well, ‘It’s me or her, and I’m not having it be her,’” he told the mag.
What a champ.
