This week’s Empire left fans contemplating the future of one of it’s key players and now, the actor is speaking out about whether or not his days on the Fox series are numbered.
At the end of Wednesday night’s episode, Jamal rushed to emergency surgery after taking a bullet to protect his father. Lucious and Cookie’s son appeared to be in a critical state, but there’s still a chance he could come back from a gunshot wound, right?
That optimistic thinking may be keeping fans of Jamal sane while we wait for next week’s episode, but unfortunately, actor Jussie Smollett’s recent comments on his Twitter have got us thinking that perhaps, this is the end of the road for his character after all.
The actor live tweets during Wednesday night’s episode made it clear that things were not looking good for Jamal.
“This is why we must watch how we treat people. We never know how long they have. Just in the blink of an eye. Gone,” Smollett wrote.
It was the actor’s last tweet of the night however, that really clued fans in on the potential fate of Jamal.
“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time w/@EmpireFOX. I love you all. Truth. Time 2 make a record & some movies,” wrote Smollett.
That certainly sounds like goodbye to us! What do you think? Is Jamal really gone for good?
Empire airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on Fox
