Zac Efron is making his grand return to television, but not in the way you might expect!
Efron has just signed on to host and executive produce a brand new cooking and travel documentary special for MTV, People reports. The network made the announcement at their Upfront presentation in New York City last week.
Rather than focusing on Efron eating strange cuisines or trying his hand at cooking food from around the world, the special will instead center around figuring out how food “has moved to the center of the millennial culture.”
“The project will look beyond the extravagant and obscure in food to explore the artistry, storytelling and journeys in what we eat, and the issues and experiences surrounding what we find on our plates,” said the network of the upcoming project.
Efron’s upcoming MTV special doesn’t have an airdate but if you just can’t get enough of the actor, don’t fret. You’ll be seeing plenty of the High School Musical alum on the big screen this year. Coming up next, Efron is set to star opposite Seth Rogen and Chloe Grace Moretz in Neighbors 2 (out in theaters May 20), and opposite Pitch Perfect’s Anna Kendrick and Adam DeVine in Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates (out in theaters July 8).
Additionally, Efron is currently hard at work filming Baywatch which, also stars Dwayne Johnson and Quantico’s Priyanka Chopra. The upcoming big screen adaptation of the hit 90s tv series is set to be released in 2017.
