Bad news, NCIS fans. It looks like Cote de Pablo won’t be returning to bid Michael Weatherly farewell.

With the longstanding drama set to say goodbye to Detective Tony DiNozzo in just a few weeks, many fans were hoping that his exit would entice sho runners to see if they could get de Pablo to return and reprise her role as Ziva. Now, however, we have confirmation from the actress herself that she won’t be returning for the big farewell.

According to TV Line, de Pablo revealed that she would not be returning during an appearance at Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts on Sunday (April 24). The actress on hand to participate in a Q&A that coincided with a screening for her film, The 33.

“Cote de Pablo confirmed that she WON’T be back on #NCIS as Ziva David for Dinozzo’s @M_Weatherly finale episode,” tweeted a fan site who was in attendance.

Despite the fact that we won’t get one last Tony/Ziva moment, the good news is, show runner Gary Glasberg has assured fans that we we’ll definitely be getting some sort of wrap-up for our favorite couple.

“The relationship that Tony has with Ziva absolutely has an impact on his reason to depart at the end of the season,” said Glasberg in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “Ziva is a huge part of who Tony is and at the end of the day, that comes into play.”

We’re definitely looking forward to seeing just how Glasberg ends up incorporating Ziva into Dinohzzo’s final moments on NCIS!

NCIS airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on CBS
