Emilia Clarke won’t be back. The Game of Thrones actress played Sarah Connor in the latest installment of the Terminator franchise, Terminator: Genisys, but she recently told ComingSoon.net that fans shouldn’t expect to see her in any future films.
“No. Can I say that? It’s ok. No. Uh-uh. But I have some very different roles coming up,” Clarke told the outlet.
Sky dance chief creative officer Dana Goldberg confirmed that the studio plans to continue the Terminator franchise now that they’ve rebooted the story, but revealed in an interview with The Wrap that they’re currently looking into what the proper next step should be. According to Goldberg, that research comes in the form of audience feedback.
“[We’ll be] using data and research to do a worldwide study and really talk to audiences about what they loved, and what maybe didn’t work for them, so that the next [step] we take with the franchise is the right note,” said Goldberg.
As for Clarke, the 29-year-old actress has her plate full with quite a few projects this year. Game of Thrones aside, fans can catch Clarke opposite Hunger Games actor Sam Claflin in this summer’s highly anticipated romantic drama Me Before You. Additionally, the actress will also star in the thriller Voice From The Stone, set to be released sometime in 2016.
