The mention of Albus Dumbledore in the latest Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them trailer was enough to send Harry Potter fans into a frenzy, but what are the odds that we’ll actually see the beloved Hogwarts Headmaster in the upcoming film?
That’s a question that the cast of Fantastic Beasts is keeping tight-lipped about for now, but that didn’t stop actor Dan Fogler, who plays the Muggle (or No-maj for all you American witches and wizards) Jacob, from hinting that we may see Dumbledore make an appearance in the film!
In a brand-new interview with MTV at CinemaCon, Fogler teased that we may or may not be hearing (and possibly seeing) some familiar faces as Newt Scamander’s journey unfolds over the course of the three-part film series.
“As the stories go along, you will see— you will hear mention of your favorite characters,” Fogler told MTV. “And you may even meet their young counterparts along the way.”
So will we actually meet a young Professor Dumbledore when Newt flies onto our cinema screens this November? When MTV asked, Fogler simply replied with “I take the fifth!”
Hmm…that’s not a no!
Though Fogler wouldn’t confirm Dumbledore’s appearance, he did shed some light on the adorable Niffler we got introduced to briefly in the trailer.
“The Niffler is one of the cuter, cuddlier creatures in the move,” Fogler explained. “He’s this fuzzy little guy who has a marsupial pouch. He likes shiny things, and he collects things. He’d take this camera, and stuff it into his push and run away.”
We’d be tempted to say we’d love to have a Niffler of our own, but something tells us he might not make for the greatest pet!
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them hits theaters November 18.
