Directed by Drake Doremus (Like Crazy), Equals is futuristic love story that takes place in a world where violence has been eliminated and emotions have been eradicated. But some bonds are too strong for dystopian romantic restrictions. Nia (Stewart) and Silas (Hoult), two members of a group known as “The Collective,” begin to develop a growing attraction towards one another, which, c’mon guys is, like, the first rule of The Collective.
“Remember, physical contact or displays of feeling is a danger to all of us,” The Collective warns in the trailer. “Let’s do our part to help contain this disease.”
The Twilight star and British actor attempt to ignore their burgeoning chemistry, but their simmering attraction cannot be ignored.
“I’ve been watching you,” Silas tells Nina. “The way you look at the world. The way you experience things.”
“In a future with no emotions, the only crime is love.”
