After her incredibly successful 1989 world tour, Taylor Swift seems like she’s ready to take a bit of a break from making music.
Swift’s impressive 2015 would be enough to exhaust even the most peppiest of performers. From Grammy Awards to an Emmy and a seven month world tour, 2015 was unquestionably the year of Swift. But when the “Bad Blood” singer was asked about her future during an interview for her new Vogue cover story, the singer-songwriter revealed her plans to take a brief time out.
“This is the first time in ten years that I haven’t known,” Swift said. “I just decided that after the past year, with all of the unbelievable things that happened. . . I decided I was going to live my life a little bit without the pressure on myself to create something.”
Swift divulged that she has a lot of short-term goals she’d like to accomplish during her mini-sabbatical, such as becoming a more well-rounded person, becoming CPR certified, and learning how to change a tire.
But don’t worry, Swifties, Taylor’s much-needed vacation doesn’t mean she’s through writing songs. In the same article, lead singer of Bleachers and noted Swift collaborator Jack Antonoff said that Swift not being creative is one of the “last things” he’d ever worry about.
It appears as if Taylor agrees. In fact, her next album could potentially be right around the corner.
“I’m always going to be writing songs,” Swift continued. “The thing is, with me, I could very well come up with three things in the next two weeks and then jump back into the studio, and all of a sudden the next record is started. That’s an option, too.”
