Elton John is certainly feeling the love (tonight).
The second film, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, will reportedly continue the story of Gary ‘Eggsy’ Unwin (Taron Egerton), who was taken in and turned into one of the best and brightest British operatives. While it is unknown what John’s potential role in the film might be, there is a possibility that he could be portraying himself.
Elton John would be another in a slew of high-profile stars who will be starring in the sequel. Along with the returning trio of Taron Egerton, Mark Strong, and Sophie Cookson, Kingsman: The Golden Circle will welcome Julianne Moore, Halle Berry, and Pedro Pascal to the cast.
While Colin Firth’s character was thought to have died in the first film, the actor may still be involved in the sequel as both a recent tweet and a 2015 interview with director Matthew Vaughn suggest.
“A lot of people are very upset that Colin might not be in the sequel, but I’m coming up with ideas at the moment,” Vaughn told USA Today back in February of 2015. “If people buy tickets in America, I’ve got a feeling we’ll figure out a way for having Colin back.”
Kingsman: The Golden Circle is scheduled to arrive in theaters on June 16, 2017.
