Cast your minds back just a few short months and you might remember that the biggest issue on Directioners’ minds was not Zayn Malik’s departure from the band, but instead the upcoming big-screen adaptation of the One Direction fan fiction, After

As soon as plans for the film were announced, Directioners everywhere jumped into action to find the perfect actor to portray Harry Styles on the big screen — and we couldn’t help but throw out a few suggestions of our own. So, when we ran into one of our picks, Teen Wolf star Dylan O’Brien, at PaleyFest in Los Angeles last month, we had to ask him about the prospect of playing one of the biggest boybanders in the world.

Unfortunately, O'Brien didn't seem to think he'd be as perfect a fit for the part as we did. When we asked him what he felt he could bring to Styles' on-screen persona, the actor had a surprisingly hilarious answer.

"A horrible English accent, probably similar-yet-worse looks, and I couldn't sing, and I'm probably less cool, too," O'Brien told People's Choice.

Frankly, we're going to have to disagree with O'Brien there; we think he's definitely cool enough to pull it off. Besides, if he's especially worried about the singing, we're sure the actual Styles would be down to show him a trick or two.

But despite thinking himself a bit miscast, O'Brien still had a great sense of humor about the potential new job, joking that he was "glad you got me on your list!"

Anytime, Dylan. Anytime.
