Who’s that girl? It’s Jess…ica Biel!

Former 7th Heaven star Jessica Biel is returning to television! The actress who portrayed Mary Camden on the former WB series will guest star on the season four premiere of New Girl. She’ll play Kat, who is described as “the hottest scientist in the world who ends up competing with Jess over a cute guy.”

Is Jessica Biel’s surprising New Girl appearance the beginning of a new trend of former television stars making their return to the small screen? Let’s hope so!

Let’s take a look at eight celebrities we’d love to see make a TV comeback!

1. Taylor Kitsch

Series: Hart of Dixie

Alabama forever? We’d love to see Riggs Kitsch reunite with his former Friday Night Lights QB1 in Bluebell. Forget clear eyes and full hearts, Taylor Kitsch on Hart of Dixie can’t lose!

2. Jared Leto

Series: Homeland

An Angela Chase and Jordan Catalano reunion would be a so-called television miracle. Perhaps Leto could make his television return by portraying a secret agent on the next season of Homeland?

Side note: Jordan Catalano is one of the very best character names in television history.

3. Luke Perry

Series: The Mystery Girls

We’d love to see a mini 90210 reunion take place on the Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth comedy  but ONLY if the infamous 90210 opening title sequence makes a triumphant return from television retirement.

4. Leighton Meester

Series: Nashville

We already know Meester has the requisite pipes for Nashville, so perhaps Chiles Stanton could make an appearance on the ABC drama?

5. George Clooney

Series: Grey’s Anatomy

There’s only one man who could disrupt Meredith and Derek’s march toward happily ever after…

*Cue the song Bad Case of Loving You (Doctor, Doctor)”

6. Sarah Michelle Gellar

Series: The Vampire Diaries

Wouldn’t ratings spike if Sunnydale’s favorite vampire slayer made a guest appearance on The Vampire Diaries? Maybe Buffy could enlist the help of Xander and Willow and get the whole Scooby gang back together again to solve one more mystery.

7. Elizabeth Berkley

Series: Pretty Little Liars

We’re so excited about the possibility of one of Bayside’s brightest students returning to television, and we just can’t hide it! Perhaps Berkley could play a new Rosewood High teacher harboring a chilling secret?

8. Adam Brody

Series: Gotham

Could the former Seth Cohen return to wreak havoc on Gotham and terrorize his former OC partner in crime?

We certainly know he’s ‘stealth’ enough for the job.
