Brace yourselves, Liars.
Though you’re probably still recovering from last night’s wait-did-that-really-just-happen finale of Pretty Little Liars, the summer premiere of the series promises to be even more adrenaline—driven.
“The premiere feels like an extension of the finale. It’s really like a two-parter action movie,” exec producer Marlene King tells PeoplesChoice.com.
As if anticipating the series’ return wasn’t hard enough for fans, King also teases some big changes ahead.
“It feels like a whole new show in the summer,” adds King, who says that after the summer premiere the series will launch into what “this show is going to become now.”
So, what is ahead? Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) for one. Hanna’s ex will swoop back into town in time for the 100th episode of the series. “It’s going to be a big homecoming for us,” says King. “I’m sure the way we all cried when he left, we’ll cry happy tears when he’s back.”
Will Hanna be among those crying happy tears?
“Hanna is dealing with a lot of stuff,” says King, who promises that season 5 is all about character development. “She’s really sort of getting caught up in this Allie web and having Caleb back is sort of twists that even more.”
They’re not the only pair with a potential reunion on the horizon. King says there’s hope for Aria and Ezra too. “Aria and Ezra are soulmates,” says King (in other words, we think it’s safe to assume Ezra isn’t a goner quite yet). “I don’t know if they can ever be over for good. They seem to always find their way back to each other like magnets. So it’ll be fun to see how that plays out.”
What did you think of last night’s finale? What are your predictions for season 5?
