The internet is still abuzz with the theoretical pairing of two of Hollywood’s most popular stars: Emma Watson and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. While presenting together at this year’s Academy Awards, the two celebs shot to the top of the Hollywood romantic rumor mill just by being themselves. Even though we may never be granted the privilege of the dream pairing social media has been clamoring for, we can still learn a little more about one-half of this hypothetical super couple: Emma Watson.
The new Elle cover girl talks to the magazine about first kisses, her role in the upcoming Darren Aronofsky film Noah, and why she’s jealous of emerging actresses. Take a look at the best three quotes from the Emma Watson Elle magazine interview below!
Emma Watson on her first kiss: “I remember reading this thing that Elizabeth Taylor wrote. She had her first kiss in character. On a movie set. It really struck me. I don’t know how or why, but I had this sense that if I wasn’t really careful, that could be me: that my first kiss could be in somebody else’s clothes. And my experiences could all belong to someone else.”
On what it was like to appear in Darren Aronofsky’s $125 million dollar blockbuster Noah: “It’s Shakespearean, what happens to this family when they’re put in this confined space for 40 days and 40 nights. It’s the end of the world—how these different human beings are dealing with the impact of that. Are humans good? Are we bad? All of these themes are epic.”
On growing up in the public eye: “There are all these actresses who have emerged in the last year or two, and they get to emerge as this complete human being. And I’m so jealous!”
As for Watson and Gordon-Levitt, well, we’ll always have the Oscars, right?
