Hello everyone! We finally made it to Friday. Before you crank up the classic 80s tune “Working For the Weekend,” set your peepers to these pop culture headlines: Jennifer Lawrence helped convince Shailene Woodley to star in Divergent, Ed Sheeran covers a Beyonce song and Andrew Garfield proves he’s a superhero off-screen as well as on-screen. Those stories and more in today’s celebrity headlines!
Here are the five stories you need to read this morning:
1. Jennifer Lawrence: actress, snack enthusiast, career counselor? It turns out that J-Law advised Shailene Woodley to accept the lead role in the upcoming film Divergent. Woodley evidently felt some trepidation in signing on for a multi-year, multi-movie franchise until she spoke with Lawrence via email. “[She] said, ‘You must do it. You will not regret it for a second,'” Woodley told The Hollywood Reporter. “‘Yes, there are some hard things, but there are so many beautiful things that will come from an opportunity like this.'” [Cosmo]
2. Justin Bieber isn’t the only one posting his romantic frustrations over past relationships on social media. Aaron Carter recently posted a series of tweets that referred to ex-girlfriend Hilary Duff as “the love of his life.” Carter continued to tweet about the newly single Duff saying, “I’ll spend the rest of my life trying to better myself to get back to her. I don’t care what ANY of you think.” [LA Times]
4. While the sun will come out tomorrow, you can watch the newest Annie trailer today. Cameron Diaz, Jamie Foxx and Quvenzhané Wallis star in this modern-day update of the classic musical. Annie hits theaters on Dec. 19th. [EW]
5. While Spider-Man may receive the acclaim, Andrew Garfield is the real superhero. After his planned Academy Awards appearance with Batkid fell through, Garfield spent the next day with the young hero and his family at Disneyland. [Perez Hilton]
