Need a new book to devour over the holiday season? Amazon unveiled its best-selling books of 2013, and it should come as no surprise that The Da Vinci Code scribe Dan Brown’s latest mystery thriller Inferno captured the top spot. And the Mountains Echoed, The Cuckoo’s Calling, The Husband’s Secret and Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will rounded out the top five.

Former Rainmaker and current best-selling author John Grisham’s Sycamore Row, a sequel to Grisham’s first novel A Time to Kill, was seventh on the list. My two favorite books of 2013, Jim Gaffigan’s Dad is Fat and Jack Handey’s The Stench of Honolulu came in at “It didn’t say” and “I have no idea” respectively.

Did you read any captivating, “I just can’t put this down” books this year? What was your favorite book of 2013? We’re in dire need of some new literary suggestions for the new year, so let us know in the comments!

Correction: Lee Child, not Lee Cross. Confusing James Patterson’s Alex Cross and Lee Child’s Jack Reacher.

  5. Warner Gaffney says:

All of the Lee Cross books. Just please ask Tom not to play the lead character anymore!!!!!!

James Patterson, Alex Cross, Run. The movie was ok, but Patterson’s books are ones I can’t put down once I start reading them.
