Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone return to save the world, exchange puppy dog glances and cost the tax payers of fictional New York City millions of dollars in property damage as The Amazing Spider-Man 2 trailer swings into computers everywhere. Let’s take a look at the new trailer followed by five of our favorite moments!
1. Electro is threatening to take away our internet access!
Our first look at Electro gave us chills… and they’re multiplying. “Soon everyone in the city will know how it feels to live in a world without power,” Electro threatens. Clever, Electro. Very clever.
2. We get a glimpse of Paul Giamatti as Rhino.
We get a slight peak of Giamatti’s Rhino, who appears to be wreaking havoc in a giant mechanical suit. How will Spider-Man defeat this dastardly villain? Well, as we all know Rhino does have one glaring weakness: merlot.
3. The Daily Bugle has a Tumblr account!
If you pause the trailer at the 0:41 mark, you’ll notice a “Follow the Daily Bugle on Tumblr” message. Kudos to the Daily Bugle for adapting to the realities of the unfortunate economic decline of the newspaper industry. Is Peter Parker now a photo blogger? Is he producing more internet friendly content? We’re excited for his “10 Birds-Eye View Photos of Puppies Eating Spaghetti” post.
4. Harry Osborn’s back and creepier than ever!
It’s difficult to out creep James Franco’s Osborn, but former Chronicle star Dane DeHaan may just have the sinister chops to pull it off. If we’re to believe internet speculation, it appears that young Osborn may be the Green Goblin, but investigative phone calls to DeHaan have been unsuccessful due to the fact that we do not currently possess his telephone number.
5. Everything Emma Stone
Simply put? Gwen Stacy looks absolutely ravishing in this trailer. She’s an Easy A… A + actually.
