What did everyone think?? What was your favorite part? I had a great time last night and totally enjoyed myself. Best parts of the show in my opinion? 1. Kaley Cuoco did an awesome job. She is funny, she’s lighthearted, she’s easygoing and she kept things moving along. 2. Emma Stone. Not only is she elegant and poised, but she dressed snappily. This one clearly has a massive career ahead of her. (It’s as if she’s half-your-best-friend’s-kid-sister, and half-the-mysterious-but-well-read-freckled-girl-in-your-art-history-seminar.) 3. Nathan Fillion’s beyond-genius acceptance remarks. 4. Jane Lynch as the Seat Coordinator. 5. Neil Patrick Harris’ trigger-happy host bit. 6. Parks & Rec’s Unique Skill Sets. 7. Betty White’s genuine 90th-birthday humility. 8. The Bridesmaids’ crew’s acceptance speech, 9. Ewan McGregor & Morgan Freeman’s collective gravitas & subtlety, and 10) Robert Pattinson just plain being there. And wisely removing the baseball cap before walking onstage.
Thoughts? I know people were thrilled by Supernatural, Harry Potter and Katy Perry winning big…and I found Chloe Grace Moretz’ remarks astonishing – especially since she is all of fourteen. Having been to quite a few awards shows now, I can honestly say that this one was super fun, it didn’t take itself too seriously (this can kill a show) and it was not too long (usually my main complaint with others). Plus, the stars were literally all over the place. I’ve also been to about a thousand things at the Nokia and the set was every bit as luminous and spectacular up very close as it was on TV. All in all, I’d have to say a great evening. Hope you all enjoyed it. You sure picked some great stuff.
Let us know your thoughts on Kaley, on the winners, and on the whole night in general. And now to our poll…and of course you know where I’m going with this…
Today’s poll:
Which of these People’s Choice Awards Red Carpet looks was your favorite?
1) Lea Michele
2) Nina Dobrev
3) Vanessa Hudgens
4) Chloe Moretz

What’s up?, can anybody able to recommend on a easy way to get the cateye look with eyeliner? Thank-you
Yes. PCA shame of you. Vanessa Hudgens great. I’m happy for all the good things.
HEY PCA, U SUCK
HEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHHEEHHEHEHE
SUPERNATURAL FOREVEA <3
@cherilyn
your “friend jack” is an idiot. Every comment that you’ve put on here refers to “jack says this or jack says that”. Jack needs to get his butt on here and say it. it clearly shows that you do not have the ability to think for yourself. And please stop saying people have anger issues. your not a therapist and i highly doubt you qualified to make these “diagnosis”. We do not have anger issues. We the fans of SPN are upset and disappointed at the fact that our show was snubbed because of “time restrictions” but the PCA had time to show the “best super hero” give me a break.
@Louie
Wow, nicely said.
@Laura “An idea is floating around fandom, instead of sending you letters which show how angry or disappointed we are, to send you letters letting you know just what it is about this show that we are so passionate about.”
Hmm… I like this.
Yes… and, maybe some (sincere) advice/discussion about what could be better for the PCA show, right?
Thoughts?:
- Should the PCAs publish what categories are on-air beforehand?
- Should that itself (Which on-air trophies will be awarded!) be a voting competition?
I have seen a few comments by people who fear that the show will somehow suffer because we voiced our displeasure at what we viewed as wrong. If you are afraid to speak out because you fear punishment for speaking out…you get North Korea. Responsible citizens are required to speak out if they feel something is wrong. We have done exactly what we are supposed to do. We clearly voiced our concerns and as consumers we are exercising our rights by not buying a certain product. It has been said that boycotting is one of the most important democratic tools. Speaking out should be celebrated, not feared. I, for one, am very proud of how each and every one of us refused to accept what was wrong with silence and no matter what the outcome is, I will not regret anything.
Laura hope you’re not talking about me…I not a troll and I don’t work for P&G
What about: We take over their stupid blogs to talk about Supernatural episodes. So far they created 3 new stupid blog questions. I think in a few day this blog with all this complains are gone. And they go on ignoring us.
Utterly disgraceful. How you can jusify not inviting any of the cast and crew of Supernatural, despite them winning two awards, is sickening. 7 years they have delivered top TV, and they hardly ever get any recognition. This show took on the Devil and survived into a 7th season, and you can’t even give them their awards for it.
Appalling. I think an apology should be issued to Supernatural and its fans.
Karen, don’t even worry about her. She’s either a troll, who has fun ramping people up. Or she’s someone who works for P&G. (Happens ALL the time on the internet, people promoting their own products under a false name.)
I find it funny that out of all the angry comments which were let through, mine – which was calm and concise, but listed an address for CBS and a link for P&G’s list of products, is “still being moderated.”
It makes me happy, actually, that you’re that scared about us making the association between what happened at the PCAs and the products you market.
I think that we should be making you well aware of how disappointed we are. I think that fans should have every avenue available to them to do so.
However, we can’t go back in time. What needs to happen is that next year, you allow Mr. Padalecki and Mr. Ackles to present, and announce them as last year’s winners for Best Drama and Best Sci/Fi.
An idea is floating around fandom, instead of sending you letters which show how angry or disappointed we are, to send you letters letting you know just what it is about this show that we are so passionate about.
This isn’t about the two hot leads. This is a story about family and the lengths you’d go to protect them. Mixed in with the monsters, horror, suspense, and camp — it is a story about love, with some heart wrenching performances.
Who knows? Maybe we’ll make some fans out of your staff.
You say Supernatural will be gone soon? This is why they are already signing contracts for an 8th season? You may want to get a second opinion before spouting your lies.
oops that should be shows
geez Nancy you sound bitter and have anger issues it’s been six days let it go..besides the Super Bowl coming up after this weekend’s games to decide who’s going there..CBS has good show’s one The Big Bang Theory…my friend Jack says the PCA don’t have to apologize he also said he heard Supernatural will be gone soon it past its time…gave him and I nightmares scary!!!!!!!!!!
I cannot express how disappointed I am in th PCA for their behavior regarding Supernatural. Do you know what it would have meant to all involved to see J&J on the stage to pick up 2 well deserved awards. After everything PCA will not fess up and apologize to all the people who voted and to Supernatural. We are not stupid and we know this was a direct snub. You didn’t even bother to invite them for Pete’s sake!
The fact of the matter is that the PCA didn’t think a show like Supernatural should win a major award so they relegated them to the background. And what’s this about Sci/Fi shows not being given awards on air? DO we not count? Maybe if you had taken out the nonsense not even related to awards you would have time for more awards.
As one of your major sponsors,I,like many others will not watch PCA again.
I can’t believe what you did to Supernatural and it’s cast/crew. I am so upset by your snub of them. I will from now until next year’s award boycott all CBS programming, especially the PCA, unless I see a public apology to Supernatural and it’s cast/crew. By next year you may not have a viewing audience for the PCA show. We will all be watching Supernatural re-runs instead.
We are really really unsatisfied with this PCA’s so-called statement!!! Now we are still waiting for a formal apology to our Supernatural and our boys. If not, feel shame, disgusting, snobby for CBS and PCA forever!!!
That was the worst PCA I have ever seen. Not giving Supernatural the recognition it deserved was the worst part of all. Big mistake.
Talk about a lack of tact and class from the producers of the PCA. Making a mistake by never having Buffy The Vampire Slayer on the ballot for best Scifi/Fantasy is one thing, but to not only not air the winners of Best Network TV Drama and Best Scifi/Fantasy (which was Supernatural, Deuces!!), but not even extend an invite to the cast/staff/writers/ANYONE that works on Supernatural is not only classless but straight up stupid and douche. 7 hard years Supernatural has been working for the fans to bring a quality show, excluding horrible writing and generic plots (Vampire Diaries, Gossip Girl, etc), and yes Supernatural does not average 10million views a week like shows such as NCIS, Criminal Minds and 2 and a half men, but what the hell? If Friday Night Lights could win emmys with a small but dedicated fanbase (good shows btw), how the hell Supernatural can’t even earn 5 minutes of 7 years hard work infront of industry peers.
The fact that there was no official apology shows the bs these failed movie producers/writers/douchebags that run the PCA really are. Supernatural was on the Cover of TV Guide in 2010, receive great praise from critics and a fanbase more devoted then the wives or husbands that left the PCA producers’ sorry behinds. You are all pathetic and that fact that the Jensen and Jared even humored the PCA by making a response video thanking the fans, knowing that their achievements would not be displayed, is more class and professionals then the higher-ups in the PCA will ever have.
I so want to hear what bs apology or statement the PCA gives for not inviting and showing Supernatural. The first year that Best Network TV Drama is not shown happens to be the same year a small network show dominates. The producers are bums and need to issue an apology to the cast of Supernatural or you will never stop hearing the wrath of the fans.
Hollywood…..comical.
How very rude of The People’s Choice Awards to decline to invite any of the cast and/or crew of Supernatural to accept their well deserved wins live on stage / on air. To not publically recognise Best Drama is shameful and unprofessional. As fans and voters, we are angry and disappointed that our voting and our Show were disregarded in such a blatant and insulting manner. I hope our Show’s cast and crew see every comment on every article and online site to know that we are honoured that Supernatural won both awards, and furious that we our wins were not publically acknowledged. PCA, you disrespected your voters and Supernatural.
“….Which of these People’s Choice Awards Red Carpet looks was your favorite?”
why, jensen ackles’ and jared padalecki’s, of course!
OH….i forgot – THEY WEREN’T THERE!
we’re still waiting for that apology but know it’s a waste of time. don’t worry, NEXT YEAR please do not make the same mistake.
” am sending this email to inform you that as the main advertiser for the People’s Choice Awards, I will be boycotting your products until a formal and public apology is made to the winner of Best Drama. I can see no logical explanation for the category’s absence other than the fact that the winner was not satisfactory to the show’s producers. The excuse of not enough time is incredibly poor to say the very least. Time was made for Best Superhero when the winner wasn’t even in attendance. Whatever logic you had behind this decision, I certainly wonder if it was worth the backlash the show has received and subsequently ignored. I also would like you to know that these are not empty words. I will be compiling a complete list of all your products to ensure that I do not purchase one even accidentally. If there is no formal apology then this will be a lifelong boycott. Thank you for your attention to this.”
What he said.
IT’S BEEN FIVE DAYS, STILL NO PUBLIC APOLOGIES…HELLO…PCA, APOLOGIZE ALREADY! IT’S NOT THAT HARD TO SAY YOU MADE A HUGE MISTAKE OF SNUBBING THE BEST SHOW AND BEST ACTORS ON TV. ANYDAY NOW…
I am sending this email to inform you that as the main advertiser for the People’s Choice Awards, I will be boycotting your products until a formal and public apology is made to the winner of Best Drama. Tell you something PCA and whoever involved in your stupid mistake.
You think SUPERNATURAL “only” won two awards?
Think again, they won two cause that how much how the get in the ballot.
And I really think it should be fair that Jensen, Jared and Misha also in the ballot for the Best Actor.
And any other categories that fitting SUPERNATURAL, like comedy, cause yes. in SUPERNATURAL we also laughs a lot, it suitable to be deemed as COMEDY category.
And my point is… if their more category they were been nominated for, they would won MORE THAN TWO AWARDS. And that’s because they are AWESOME and DESERVED all that.
So no, they were not “only” won two awards, they could easily won more, if only you were not that CHICKEN to include them on the other ballot.
A P O L O G I Z E S ! ! !
I am beyond ashamed of PCA and CBS right now for the down right and super obvious snub against Supernatural. It is an iconic show that has solely been kept on the air because of fan support, anyone remember back in the 2nd season when they wanted to cancel the series and thousands upon thousands of people petitioned for it to stay on air? YEA THAT WAS US! And we are die hard fans, why do you think they won not 1 but 2 awards! So unfortunatly for you CBS execs, I know you won’t read this but I’m sending it out into the universe anyway, I will NEVER watch any of your shows again, which is a shame because some of them are great but this snub has gone to far and as a 7 yr fan of SPN (I was 17 when I started watching the show btw) I just can’t let you win.
Way to snub an awesome show. I don’t think you realize that you messed with the wrong fandom. I can understand not airing Best Sci-fi (it happens all the time we’re used to it) but not airing Best Drama? Seriously? The Cast and Crew of Supernatural deserve recognition for the seven seasons of hard work and dedication they have put into the show!
I agree with you fan but I did warn PCA when I first left my comment that Supernatural fans do not take snubbing our boys lightly. I also warned them what happened to CW when they snubbed us for another week to show Nikita and TVD last a second night making us wait longer. They were warned and should have acted more appropriately.
Typo-Maroon 5.
It is shame there is such a backlash over a few mistakes,
because there were so many wonderful momenst with a lot of great, exceptional winners like How I Met Your Mother and Kaley was a good host. I loved the entertaining ceremony and it was best PCA’s I have seen in ten years!
It deserved compliments and criticism too due to some snubbing.
Next time, invite the SPN cast way in advance so they can schedule to attend, and show their award during the ceremony. Even if they just win Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Jared/Jensen need to be there at the ceremony or show their video speech. SPN fans vote next year so it can be redeemed! We should be happy that they won!
It is a shame the PCA’s refused to respect Supernatural because that ruined it for a lot of fans. The PCA’s don’t deserve to be trashed like this because Kaley was good and it was actually quite entertaining. Supernatural fans petitioned to issue complaints and I hope the panel pays attention so there will not be a backlash next year, because the rest of the show was great. I loved many of the surprise wins and it was so good seeing other deserving shows being recognized. I loved most of the winners this year!
Harry Potter’s 4 awards should have mentioned or recognized also. They have to make more of an effort to invite people in advance so they can attend. There were some filler segments that were unnecessary. I find it strange that most of the music wins weren’t announced either. You would think Bruno Mars beating Bieber would get a mention.
It is a shame because I personally felt the 2012′s PCAs was the BEST PCA I have ever seen. It was up there with many Emmy telecasts for me. Kaley was a major improvement over Queen Latifah. She was funny, creative, and amusing. We got to finally see different people on stage instead of the same old winners. We had many emotional and heartwarming moments.
Highlights: The Big Bang Theory opener was witty and sharp. I love the NPH bit, that was hilarious. I also thought Jane Lynch’s bit was a riot and so was Jimmy Fallon’s. Betty White praise was heartwarming. There was some great banter and chemistry with presentors. Kaley really did hold it together. The show was overall, fun to watch.
I also loved many of the winners: Emma Stone, Chole Grace Moretz, Castle, Nathan Fillion, Maroon 6, Demi Lovato,
Morgan Freeman added so much class, Lea Michele’s speech was moving….and especially How I Met Your Mother finally winning an award as a show when it has been on for seven years! It took a lot of support to beat out MF and Glee. 90% of the winners were great.
I am also a Supernatural fan so it was a mixed bag for me.
The ceremony was great but it was bad that SPN didn’t get recogzined during the telecast. It won TWO awards including Best Network Drama. We worked so hard to have this show beat out overrated TVD. Next year, please invite the Jared/Jensen in advance…not at the last minute because they are shooting in Canada.
Supernatural fans, it is good to speak up but don’t flame too much please otherwise CBS might refuse to give SPN anything. I want Supernatural to win again next year and the boys finally deserve to be on the stage or at least show their video speech during the ceremony. We have won network drama and two sci-fi/fantasy awards. I hope the third time is the charm, the show is going to end after a couple of seasons.
Also, next year, put One Tree Hill on the ballot!
Overall, I enjoyed the PCA’s and it is a tragedy that the Supernatural snub and not recognizing most of the winners has caused a backlash because it was good show and there were many great, deserving winners who had not won before!
Ok i will say ONE THING: You people are totally UNACCEPTABLE…I can’t believe that you have the guts to talk after ςhat you did…Not only you didn’t invite them but you also you didn’t show their video on the main show….Supernatural cast deserved the best..and they still do…So, next year i will vote my boys again but don’t you dare do something like that again…I don’t even know if i am going to watch next year…
And you should apologize for that…And don’t blame others…
@ TVD & TSC Fan Your whole opinionated comment is the reason supernatural fans are upset! That’s why everyone feels so strongly about the show being snubbed amongst it’s peers, maybe if it got some more recognition people might watch the show and realise it does have a plot and storyline to follow, it was originally suppose to only be 5 seasons, but clearly theres more to see and tell so they’re onto their 7th season now, that’s gotta speak for itself surely? The PCA should have been smart enough to realise there’s a reason the show won it’s awards and featured them in the ceremony to atleast show they acknowledge the shows success AND the fandoms dedication to ensuring supernatural received said acknowledgment. They were blantently snubbed and from my understanding, there was plenty on time during the PCAs to announce them and show their little video but it didn’t happen. That’s fucked up
You snubbed Superantural, you actually dared after all the nights I spend voting on this stupid award for my boys, then we won and you took that moment away from them. How low. Boooo.
Dear PCA, let’s say we understand you weren’t able to represent all the award winners during the official ceremony. Let’s say we understand that you had invited the cast of “Supernatural” but they refused to come since the only thing they would have been doing there was to sit and watch. But we still don’t understand why you didn’t air their video on the big screens in front of the other guests. One way or the other, those 29 seconds were already saved for “Supernatural”, so why did you cut them out this way, showing their filmed speech before the start of your show? That’s what pisses us off the most!
Shame on you for not honoring the people’s choice! Shame on you for ignoring so obviously the winners of 2 awards, one of which is for ‘Favorite Network TV Drama’. It’s the first time you didn’t even announce from the stage who wins in this category. We WANTED for everyone to see and hear about the success of “Supernatural”! Not only the fans, not only those who were watching at home, but also the celebrities who were invited there! ………And you think you did right? May be you should swallow your pride a bit!

Perhaps they will hear us.
Good morning from Germany. Another day, another chance for you to apologize. But still… nothing. Don´t ignore the best TV Show ever and the most passionate fandom. Do you think we will stop or just forget in a few day what has happened? Think twice.
“The cast of Supernatural was not invited because their acceptance speeches were not being aired. The cast was aware of this and chose not to attend, but had they expressed an interest in attending the show, we would have gladly provided them with tickets.”
Are you serious? This is your response? Let me reword that for you: “We told the cast of Supernatural even though they had won two awards we were not going to present those awards on the show, nor would we mention them in any way. We told them they are more than welcome to sit in the back and be invisible while we go about showcasing people who hadn’t won anything but we found cool. It’s their fault they refused to attend because had they begged nicely we would’ve sent them tickets.”
There. Fix’d.
Supernatural wins the most important PCA TV Award for Best Network Drama and the two leading actors don’t even get invited to accept the award!
It’s an utter disgrace!
There are fans world- wide, myself included, who voted for the show, hoping it would win! It did, but the win gets brushed under the carpet because obviously the wrong show won in Hollywood’s opinion.
If it had been any other show the protagonists would have been invited.
Supernatural is always ignored by the “powers that be” and this is only the most recent example.
You should all be ashamed of yourselves!
@Cherilyn But Jack said to me, you don’t know a squat. Observed before you comment. What do you feel if BigBangTheory or Glee won the award but they were not announced properly, and the show cast&crew were not invited?
Don’t act like saint.
SUPERNATURAL deserved the public apologizes and much more.
Still no apology? How about a “clarifying statement” that will at least give The Best Television Drama the respect it deserves.
Thank you.
HERE’S ANOTHER PISSED OFF AVID FAN OF SUPERNATURAL. ENOUGH HAS SAID …PCA MEMBERS AND ORGANIZERS, APOLOGIZE ALREADY !!!! NEXT YEAR, I WILL STILL VOTE FOR MY FAVORITE, BUT NEVER WILL WATCH THE PCA AWARDS SHOW AGAIN !
SPN have international solid/diehard fans and they vote for the show they love.PCA should respect their decision.
I live in france and i’ve discovered one of the greatest tv shows of all time. Thank’s to its writing, actor performance and directing.I just wanted to tell you that nearly no one knows supernatural in france because it is not at all well broadcast on tv and yersterday i found out that supernatural had won two great awards and i am thankful for what the fans did all around the world to show their love for a show like supernatural and to see the actors smile about those recognisations the people gave to the supernatural crew but they’ve been betayed by a great live show the people’s choice award who let’s the pleople vote this time but it didn’t keep the promise of inviting the supernatural cast and snobbed it. so this live show went against his most important principle to let the people choose. SO SHAME ON YOU FOR NOT LETTING US FROM AMERICA TO FRANCE TO THANK THE CREW OF SUPERNATURAL TO LET THEM AT LEAST BE INVITED AND GIVING US FALSE HOPE. THANK YOU PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD FOR SNOBBING ONE OF THE GREATEST TV SHOW IN THE WORLD, AND SO YOU KNOW EVERYONE WILL REMEMBER THIS FOR THE NEST YEAR PEOPLE CHOICE AWARD!
ALEX95
@Cherilyn
But see, Supernatural DID win. 2 AWARDS.
And my biggest beef with the PCAs is that they chose to not announce on air the most major TV award (one that they ALWAYS announce on air) simply because of who the winner was. I would feel the same sense of outrage and disgust if any other show won this award, and the PCAs decided not to announce it on air.
Because if you’re going to put up awards for a vote, you shouldn’t be able to then decide to ignore who the winners are just because you don’t like the results.
boy y’all are really up in arms about Supernatural huh???
I watched it once and gave me nightmares brrr!!!!..geeez Michelle it just a show…I was upset that The Big Bang Theory and Glee didn’t win Best TV Comedy though Lea Michele did win Favorite Actress in a TV Comedy..but I didn’t go on the boards ranting and raving that CBS/Fox/PCA apologize to the fans cause those shows didn’t win and Kaley Cuoco didn’t win either…geeez Michelle you got anger issues..Jack says the PCA don’t have to apologize to no one…Supernatural is past its time..Jack’s a friend
WHERE IS THE APOLOGY FOR SUPERNATURAL?!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT’S BEEN TWO DAYS!!!!!!!
Wow. Another day and still no reaction from you. What a shame.
The entire selling point of the PCAs is that everyday people can vote for their favorite programs. Yes, this brings with it its own issues (e.g., younger skewing demographics of voters), but the people voting are the people watching the PCAs and the people with money to spend on the advertisers’ products.
Most viewers understand the time constraints of television (read: need for less actual content and more advertising dollars) and the fact that in all award shows the more technical or “fringe” awards will not be broadcast live. However, as someone who avoids the televised largess and reads the results of personal interest the morning after, I am truly saddened to read that Supernatural’s win in a major category was not valued enough to be televised.
As a fan of the show from the beginning, it is always encouraging to see Supernatural make news in mainstream media outlets. TV Guide and Entertainment Weekly apparently think enough of the fans to cover the show on occasion and include weekly recaps.
It certainly appears that the cast and crew enjoy what they do and are proud of their work, as they should be. The PCAs is one way that regular viewers can show their appreciation and recognize the outstanding efforts this show has made despite the television limitations placed on it. Good work is good work no matter who does it, where it occurs, or the odds placed against it.
Until ratings systems encompass all the methods viewers use to watch televised media, certain television genres and audiences will continue to be misrepresented. Fans are fans and by definition care deeply about their shows. They have voices and buying power.
I hope the PCAs did well financially, because from a public relations standpoint it failed miserably. It is not generally wise to bite the hand that feeds you.
Congratulations to Supernatural!
Shame on you PCA/CBS I understand the C in CW stands for CBS you should be dually ashamed for snubbing of your own show. Apparently the Peoples Choice Awards has changed their fromat on handing out awards. If a show from a major Network does not win the award voted on by the People(fans) than it will only be aired online during the Red Carpet Show and alotted 40 seconds. Nor will the lead actors of that non major Network show be invited to the ceremony as presenters or as winners to THANK their fans for voting. But then let me make sure that is in fact true because I believe that other members on the same non-major network were invited to the ceremony and did indeed win an award for their actress. So “genre” must not be the issue here. It MUST be the show and the actors themselves.
This is a show that is in their seventh Yes seventh season and in the dreaded Friday night 8pm slot. Which has two remarkable lead actors (that do not have to show their bare bodies to get viewers)a great supporting cast, writers, directors and producers any one would have been more than honored to be there to accpet their two awards.
You have single handedly shown yourselves to be sore losers, down right rude and unprofessional. What a slap in the face to members of your own industry.
Your families must be so proud of all of you right now, Hopefully they didn’t vote for this show and then see or in this case not see it acknowledged.
PCA/CBS you publicly snubbed Supernatural, Jensen Ackels and Jared Padalecki and you now owe them a Public Apology.
The award for Your Favorite Network Drama and Favorite Sci-Fi goes to Supernatural. Thank you
Ok, so if we are willing to accept the fact that ALL awards could not be shown because of time consraints, surely the `biggest` award is that of Top Network Drama, and maybe this is one that should be included and would have been if the winners were approved by the organisers? I think calling these the `Peoples` choice is a huge misnomer, maybe `The Peoples Choice – if we agree` might be more suitable.
You should be so ashamed of yourself after receiving thousands of negative comments about your awful attitude towards “Supernatural” and its fans. But actually you’re NOT ashamed which is even more SHAMEFUL. Not inviting the winners of “Best Network TV Drama” and not even mentioning them on the stage is really disrespectful. You lost the respect of many people who were trying to give their favorite show some air time and some recognition. Normal organizations would try to apologize for casting out the show like that, but since you’re not going to do so, what else can I say except for S H A M E.
so i guess we are not the only ones upset by this…..take a look fellow fans…..
As a fan of Supernatural, I felt insulted for the J2s after reading the PR’s response in regards to not inviting Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and the rest of Supernatural cast and crew.
Jenika from the P&G Team (does not even bother to give his/her last name) stated: “We’ve made every effort to showcase a variety of categories on the network broadcast” (Okay, I understand about having time limits and constraints–but not to air Fan Favorite Best TV Drama! Give me a break! This category has ALWAYS been mention in the past!) Jenika goes on further to insult Supernatural by saying, “The cast was not invited because their acceptance speeches were not being aired. The cast was aware of this and chose not to attend.” (Um, call me crazy but I would not have attended either. What! Just to sit and watch lesser awards be presented by individuals who weren’t even nominated.)
I think that one of reasons we the fans are angry with this whole mess, is because SPN has never been given the recognition that it justly deserves. This “over-sight” is just another slap in the face not only for the fans; but also, for Jared, Jensen, and whole gang at SPN. They work really hard for their fans. We show our appreciation by voting for them. They EARNED those awards and should have been invited to accept those awards. The CVS commercial was an unnecessary filler that could have easily been removed to allow SPN to accept the awards that the PEOPLE chose!
PCA and P&G you are requested by the fans to publicly apologize for your lack of respect to the fans of SPN and especially to SPN cast and crew!!
Michelle
Pensacola, FL
THIS IS DESPICABLE! I LOATHE YOU. PCA SUCKS REAL BAD AND YOU DON’T HAVE THE BACKBONE TO APOLOGIZE TO JENSEN AND JARED.
go to this link and just vote supernatural

Well, I can see some really angry comments, but PCA, seriously how could you not at least invited “Supernatural” to attend the ceremony? When a show wins in 2 categories and this doesn’t get them an invitation, then I seriously don’t know what could. You should have treated SPN with a little bit more respect, the guys definitely deserve it. I know you’re probably thinking that giving them the awards was enough of attention, but I would disagree. The mainly purpose of award shows is to invite the winners and give them some credit and some spotlight, so the actors/writers/singers could feel proud for winning. You could have invited Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki and give them the 2 awards and they could have said “Thank you” and end of the story! I doubt this whole action would have taken more than 40 seconds to 1 minute. After all, the video you showed was 40 seconds long, so it means that time was already saved for “Supernatural”.
What hurts me most is that you continue ignoring the complains of the fans and of everyone else who voted. I think that when there are so many unsatisfied people, this means you really got things the wrong way. It’s not only about the SPN cast, but about the people who are actually your viewers. You didn’t give them what they wanted and what they fighted for. Some of them are right – the whole point of your show should be to greet the winners with more respect. After all the whole cast of “The Vampire Dieries” was invited, despite the fact they didn’t win anything, except Nina’s award for “Best TV Drama Actress”, which is more of a personal achievement for me than a success for TVD as a whole.
Don’t get me wrong, I like TVD, and Nina especially, she’s from Bulgaria after all, and so am I. And in this order of thoughts, you should have spared 2 seats for Jensen and Jared. The guys deserved it.
I don’t know why is it costing you so much to say one simple “Sorry” to us the fans.
I’m a 48 year old, college educated, middle of the road, making-vanilla-look-spicy kind of gal. And I adore, Supernatural, and I voted my freakishly mundane fingers off until I couldn’t feel them anymore. I did it for Jensen and Jared and every single grip, sound-tech, writer, and director who’s ever been associated with this show—so they could receive the attention they have worked so hard for and so justly deserve. They sure as heck aren’t going to get it from the industry. God forbid a genre show be spotlighted. Their fans all over the world banded together to make this happen, and we TRUSTED you to reflect what the PEOPLE had chosen.
In 48 years I’ve seen some petty, mean-spirited crap take place. This ranks right up near the top of the list for me. Honestly, PCA and CBS, what were you thinking? If this was a category that was normally un-televised, I might have somewhat understood, but to simply decide that the winner THIS YEAR was not worthy of the few seconds normally allotted to the winner of BEST TV DRAMA was absolutely classless. Sour grapes, much?
Oh, and if you think for ONE moment that we are stupid enough to buy the crap you’re trying to feed us about extending invitations to the cast (with the caveat that their categories would, of course, not be announced on air) and that they chose to decline the invitation as a way to justify your actions—think again. NO BODY is THAT stupid. Why on earth would ANY one expect them to attend under those conditions? Yes, we love this genre show, but you are deluded if you think we all live in our parents’ basements and can’t get dates.
I love this genre show. It’s honestly one of the best shows I’ve ever watched in all of my 48 years. It’s absolutely incredible what the cast and crew accomplish each week with the budget they have. They are wizards at making me alternately laugh and cry and jump out of my chair or cower under it. Sometimes, they do all of that in the course of one hour alone. But you know what? I also love some comedies, and crime dramas, and medical procedure shows, too. This is not the only show I watch, but believe me when I say that I will not be watching any such shows that CBS puts out until some kind of SERIOUS apology is extended to the cast and crew of Supernatural and the PEOPLE who chose them to receive one of the PCA’s most prestigious awards.
Man up and admit you were wrong.
What you PCA did this year was beyond awful. Is this how you treat the PEOPLE who voted so passionately for their favorite show/movie/actor and etc ? Not inviting the winners of 2 awards in one of the highest and respectful categories? Well done, that was exactly the reason why we gave our voices for “Supernatural” so you could just screw them. I’m even surprised that you gave them the statuettes and didn’t keep them for yourselves. You could have just said to SPN: “Yeah, you won the awards, but we’ve decided to keep them safe here with us”. And why you didn’t show their “Thank you” video on the official ceremony? Can you even understand how rude your actions are in the eyes of so many people! We voted for “Supernatural” because we wanted the crew to get the attention they deserve. We wanted to see them on the stage, saying their speeches in front of everyone in that hall. But you TRIPPED them on purpose. You didn’t give them that chance because it wasn’t what you wanted. It never was about what PEOPLE want, but what you and your sponsors want. You skipped again the only moment where “SPN” could have gotten more spotlight. I’m really terrified! And I’m tired of watching how YOU and other TVs, and other sponsors, and people with more power are trying so hard to push this show down.
“The cast of Supernatural was not invited because their acceptance speeches were
not being aired. The cast was aware of this and chose not to attend, but had
they expressed an interest in attending the show, we would have gladly provided
them with tickets” What can I possibly say to that? You don’t know even how to lie! Yeah, for sure you asked them if they would attend the ceremony and your question probably was: “You’re not coming, right?” Do you seriously think that someone believes your poor excuses? Do you think you’re talking to 4 or 5 year old children? How do you expect us to believe that after 7 years of hard work “Supernatural” finally wins in a very significant category and they refused to come and receive the awards personally? Because they had work which couldn’t wait for 1 day? Oh, I forgot! You didn’t intend to let them talk anyway, even if they were there! Right! I don’t know what to say, PCA! You left me speechless! I never believed that you’re able of showing so clearly your sarcasm towards that show! Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean that WE don’t like it! If it is all about you and about policy and about televisions, then change your name, for God’s sake.
“Supernatural” is a show in its 8 year and despite that they still have enormous support and love from their fans! Have you asked yourselves why? Because they HONOR us! Something PCA don’t do and that’s why you’ll never have the same support from people. We, who voted for “SPN”, we are not just fans. We are like a family! And that’s what parents do when someone trips their children on purpose – they DEFEND them!
Now, we know PCA and CBS think really high of themselves, but this way you look even more stupid. So show some class and APOLOGIZE for not inviting “Supernatural”, for not showing their video on the official ceremony and for not even bothering to announce from the stage who won in the categories “Favorite Network Drama” and “Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy Show”.
I did not watch the event on tv ’cause I’m from Italy and I can’t. But I was looking forward to know the results and to read online the best moments of the show… and now I’m really disappointed. I voted hundreds time for my favourite show, Supernatural, as many others did (as the results showed quite clearly) just to help this incredible show win what it deserves, and just to see someone of the cast&crew taking the award with a smile on his/her face. Now, I understand there was not enough time to show all the categories, and I understand the best sci-fi show isn’t a big one… but the favourite network tv drama definitly is! not inviting Jared and Jensen or anyone else from the show to the event is unacceptable and shameful, ’cause you’ve aired the prize-giving of this category every year. It was disrespectful towards the people who work on the show AND the people who voted for it and who thought (and still think, especially now) it deserved to win (and to be shown as the winner). I hope those who arranged the event will take some time to think about it and to fix their mistakes, even just not to make the same false step again next year, whatever will be the winner of this category. Can’t demand any respect if you don’t show any.
When will someone from Peoples Choice be making a statement about the huge mistake of snubbing Supernatural and cast. Seriously when… because a lot of People spent a lot of time Voting for them. Isn’t the saying Alls fair in love and war.. We won , you lost now apologise
Well I’d say, just to be succinct, that the worst moment of the show was not inviting the Supernatural cast. It was beyond ridiculous considering they won two awards and the cast and crew of Supernatural were disappointed as well as their loyal fans. Also not airing their 30 second acceptance video during the actual awards show was in poor taste.
yup – with all the fans. simply cannot believe that the winner of best TV drama – the biggest category – was not on stage to accept their award. Even the guy announcing the clip didn’t say the same of the show. Amazingly bad decision by CBS – for a fan show! Stunning, Supernatural deserved much better. Crappy CBS – just lost my viewership.
@ TVD & TSC Fan – To quote Damon, “Stop talking.” Don’t make fans of TVD look bad by being rude.
Sincerely,
TVD Fan
Assuming this email taken from your Facebook page is correct:
(From PCA to a concerned fan)
“We’re sorry you’re upset the cast of Supernatural wasn’t featured on The People’s Choice Awards. The show is comprised of 43 categories and we made every effort to showcase a variety of categories on the network broadcast. Unfortunately, only 14-15 of those categories can fit into a two hour television show.
The cast of Supernatural was not invited because their acceptance speeches were not being aired. The cast was aware of this and chose not to attend, but had they expressed an interest in attending the show, we would have gladly provided them with tickets.”
…Now, my problem with this isn’t the amount of time allotted, that’s understandable. What is questionable is the choice of which category wasn’t shown – the very significant Best TV Drama. Big enough that it’s always been shown, until this year. The fact it wasn’t chosen this year is more than curious.
Why wasn’t it aired? Because they weren’t there to accept personally? If so, why weren’t they there? Because you didn’t invite them.
See how bewildering this is. It’s twisted logic at best and insulting at worst.
But at least we know now – SPN actors *were not invited* at all. Saying if they had “shown interest” you’d have done so is ridiculous. They’ve expressed their disappointment in not receiving an invite, so lack of interest wasn’t an issue.
I would have rather watched paint dry. Seriously. I can’t believe they didn’t get an invite! Us Spn fans took the time to vote in their poll for their show and won! Twice! Yet they couldn’t use some of the show time to recognize the talent and awesomness that is Supernatural. Come on! Why the call it the people’s choice awards is beyond me. I mean after all they don’t even give the people what they want! The PCA’s just lost a viewer in me.
geez Louie aren’t we bitter???!!!! you’re a Castle fan huh???..you ought to be glad your show won…that was minor compared to Supernatural which people are still harping about..geez you’d think someone had desecrated the American flag the way they still carrying on about it and today’s Friday
Funny how they showed all the CBS shows winning awards but not Supernatural which won Best Network Tv Drama. I have never heard of any award show not inviting the winners of TWO awards – it is a show with 2.4 million viewers a week and it beat a show that has 13 million viewers a week – here’s why cause we love Supernatural and we will not let this go till CBS admitts they messed up.
What the hell PCA! I was so looking forward to seeing J&J pick up an award ON STAGE. Instead I came away so bemused and generally upset that I’m still thinking about it two days later. In fact, I never post online and I’m so horribly disappointed with PCA that I had to post about it now. I’ve never bothered with watching PCA before (figuring the voting was done by a bunch of tween fangirls) and only tuned in this year to see if Supernatural won. I waited to see the award for BEST NETWORK TV DRAMA given out, assuming it would be one of the last awards of the night (as per the format of every other award show out there), and nothing. I rewound and fast forwarded thinking I missed it, and nothing. IT turns out I did miss it, because you never aired it on the actual show. This is not an award show for the people, just some sort of dirty politics at work. Unfortunately, I will be making a point not to watch CBS anymore (though I’ve been watching their Monday night lineup religiously) No offense 2 Broke Girls, et al, it’s just politics. Everyone involved with Supernatural and it’s fan’s deserve to be treated better!
Apologize. It won’t undo the disrespect displayed at the awards, but it will go a long way in acknowledge the fact that CBS ignored the supposed purpose of the awards. To celebrate shows beloved by people that don’t always get the recognition they deserve.
Do the right thing.
@suzie
They just dropped the award in Nathan’s lap didn’t they? I saw that. This awards show is such an embarrassment. If they don’t want to do it then they should hand it over to someone who will give a crap.
I am not a Supernatural fan but I am totally in agreement with the fans that spent so much time voting and were excited to see their show’s stars on stage. To not even invite them after they won showed such disrespect. I am a Castle fan and at least they were invited , even though the way you just”handed them the award” almost as an after thought was so rude!!!! It appears that if it is not a CBS show, it does not get to go onstage.
Hey PCA! If you were wondering how Supernatural won, you’re witnessing it! SPN fans are notorious for passion for their show and their organization skills. I love how we are using the PCA comment section to rally against them.
@megan- i put your link on twitter and the PCA facebook page lets see how long they leave it up before they delete it.
ATTENTION SUPERNATURAL FANS,
I’ve made a petition for the People Choice Awards to apologize to Jared and Jensen. The Supernatural fans are the most dedicated and devoted fans I’ve ever seen. Please sign the petition so we can get them to aplogize. Let’s not let our hard work of voting to get Supernatural the attention it deserves!!! Here’s the petition link:)
http://www.change.org/petitions/people-choice-awards-pca-needs-to-publicly-apologize-to-jared-padalecki-and-jensen-ackles
Hey nice job PCA on adding in “I know people were thrilled by Supernatural, Harry Potter and Katy Perry winning big…” too bad this doesn’t make us forgive you for not inviting them to the show or barely recognizing them on one of the biggest awards of the night. Whatever you do, until you sincerely apologize to Supernatural, the fans WILL NOT stop bombarding you with hate comments. All we want is for our show to be recognized among the biggest names in the movie/music/television industry, they rightfully deserve it, and you took it away from them. Just apologize and DO NOT make this mistake again.
So happy SUPERNATURAL won both awards!!! So stunned to hear that the talented leads from this amazing show weren’t even invited to the awards????!!!!!! What’s wrong with PCA? The show was nominated for and WON TWO AWARDS. Please invite Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles next year – you can be sure that they will be winners again.
@Layla
That’s funny because I completely agree with you and as a matter of fact when I’m on message boards on other sites I don’t even mention the name Supernatural. I just mention the removal of the category of Best Drama and the fact that an awards show is now being hit with thousands of complaints by fans of a show THAT WON…that seems like a pretty interesting story to me
“PCA folks are clueless demons” geeez isn’t that over the top language???!!!! I thought they were human beings not demons…bestshowfan, geeez seems you got anger issues I know your show didn’t win but geeez sounds like you need help you calling people names that are not nice
Second Post from me. I see it as a compliment for Supernatural, that it wasnt broadcasted. Cause it only makes sense when Supernatural poses a threat. So fans just have to make it harder for pca to ignore our vote. Like, with voting in every possible category for the best show in the world. Even if its in the category for best Romance.
PCA i have something to say to you shame on you the way you behaved with supernatural cast and crew and the fans who spent many hours in voting to earn their beloved show a small part from the credit it really deserve by these 2 awards and when we finally did it you stole our happiness and blow our moment last time i checked i find this called people choice awards but it seems you didn’t like what we choose you should feel big shame from your behave you show no respect to jensen and jared and all the cast and the fans you owe all of us an apologize
I completely agree.
Well. Not that posting on here is a waste of time, because if nothing else, at least if anyone looks at this page who is UNAWARE of what the PCAs did, then it’ll be pretty hard to miss. Also, while the PCA folks might be ignoring it, it doesn’t mean that all these comments are going completely unseen.
However. I do agree that if we want some response from the PCA’s, then we do need to target news sources. TMZ seems like a good option, as does maybe evening news type shows, or papers like the n.y. times.
But I think the focus should definitely be not so much the slight on the invitation, but more so that PCA chose not to air the major award of Favorite TV Drama (arguably the MOST major) because of who the winner was (seeing as they’ve always aired this award before). And also, I think the major point should be that such an action takes away their credibility as the ‘people’s’ awards show.
Just my 2 cents though.
–Layla
The best moment would have, and should have, been Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki climb that stage and have their chance to shine in the spotlight. Who in the world was in charge of running this catastrophe? I have never heard of any award show not inviting the winners of TWO awards. Who does that? It’s beyond idiotic.
For SEVEN years the cast and crew of Supernatural has been putting their hearts and souls into this amazing production. A family has been built up in this fandom, we’ve shared laughs, we’ve shared tears, and we couldn’t wait to share this achievement with them. How DARE you take away the opportunity for them to finally be recognized among their industry peers.
Love, family, bravery, sacrifice, perseverance, and selflessness not good enough for you, huh? Supernatural is amazing, and the fans voted their hearts out for the chance to see them walk the red carpet and climb the steps to that stage, and be recognized for their outstanding work. What were the people who weren’t nominated even doing there? Those seats should have gone to the cast of the show that actually deserved to be in that room. Absolutely shameful.
Supernatural deserves a public apology for the disgraceful, disgusting way they were treated. This is a new level of low. Someone in that rotten organization needs to grow a spine, and acknowledge that they screwed up big time.
The producers, actors, bodyguards all follow fans and they follow each other on Twitter. If we were wrong about this, they would have set us straight immediately. Instead, they are retweeting links from news articles that are reporting on this travesty and the fans’ outrage. So that in itself speaks to the fact there is no mistake here. THEY WERE SNUBBED.
He seems to have deleted that tweet.
And you can send your complaints to
mbasst@markburnettprod.com
Mark Burnett is the producer of PCA.
What we should have been doing is posting on the Entertainment Weekly People’s Choice comment section. Our words are falling on deaf ears here.
I think everyone here summed it up. Supernatural won TWO awards including the always aired Best Network TV Show and yet they were snubbed. This willful action on the part of the PCA is:
Disrespectful
Rude
Indefensible
Tacky
Unforgivable until we get a public apology
Shameful
This reflects poorly on the PCA not Supernatural. Jensen and Jared are class acts. They don’t play the game of celebrity, they work hard as actors and have earned their fans’ loyalty and respect. They have earned the respect and acknowledgment of their talent from their peers and deserved to be on stage accepting their awards. They were robbed of that.
Supernatural is the winner here.
The obvious loser is the People’s Choice Awards because this proves they don’t play fair and they don’t care. It is all publicity and flash…no substance whatsoever.
B.J.
bodyguard4JandJ
k note to the person who says the guys were invited to the PCAs, absolute bullshit, they were never invited .
Taken directly from my twitter account!!! try and explain yourselves now PCA!!! IDIOTS
http://thenerdangels.com/post/15782203472/my-conversation-with-the-peoples-choice-awards
I would like to know if the cast of Supernatural was told BEFORE or AFTER the voting ended that their two categories wasn’t going to be aired. I have a feeling it was after.
If that’s the case I don’t blame them for not going to your ‘award’ show. It would have been a slap in the face going somewhere where they weren’t wanted.
I have to agree with the people on here that we are wasting our time posting on the PCA boards. What we have to do is take it to the media. We should try to reach maybe something like TMZ or other media that might listen to us and get the word out.
Yeah, that what Jo said.
http://www.buzzsugar.com/Favorite-CW-Shows-Including-Vampire-Diaries-Gossip-Girl-Supernatural-13347697
Pleas vote, because now SPN is only on the third place behind Nikita and Vampire Diaries and you just can vote once.
You know what, PCA? YOU SUCK!
Really, shame on you..you owe the Supernatural cast and fans a huge apology.
You are disrespectful not only to the great show and a fantastic crew that works on it for SEVEN YEARS, but also to all the thousands and thousands of fans who voted during nighttime and daytime.
I’m from Latvia, by the way. And on behalf of the fans who come from this little country, I repeat: SHAME ON YOU!
so hundreds of comments and you still don`t say anything about it!!! don`t IGNORE US, not inviting jensen and jared was disrespectful
they deserve at least an apologize… you messed with the wrong fandom!!! we are not just fans, we are a FAMILY!!!!
SPN fans let`s keep supporting http://www.buzzsugar.com/Favorite-CW-Shows-Including-Vampire-Diaries-Gossip-Girl-Supernatural-13347697
i am from north Africa and i love supernatural NOW do you believe how huge the fan base for supernatural we voted and voted to see J&J that amazing cast get what they deserve but no invite! really? not one award bt two.. i mean COME ON! not the smartest move on your part pca..
You owe Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki, as well as everyone else involved in creating Supernatural, an apology.
Favorite moments???? I had to go online after the broadcast to find out that what I waited for all night…the Best Network TV Drama award went to Supernatural. Their best sci-fi win was barely mentioned (4 girls sitting on a couch; PULHEEZE!). But the best network TV drama is a major win for an excellent show.
My favorite moment would have been Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles accepting these TWO awards in person onstage on behalf of all the talented people who put Supernatural together. What does a person have to do to get an on-air award presentation?!?! They won TWO for God’s sake! You didn’t even show their filmed acceptance during the on-air awards show!
You filled the on-air time with so much pandering and downright awful product-placement that there was really no time to present an award to a major category winner? REALLY?!?!?!
You, CBS and the producers of the People’s Choice Awards should apologize ON AIR to Supernatural; the entire cast and crew, and the fans who voted for them to win. This is a great show with great actors, great story lines, and the people who create this show every week really care about making something worthwhile. This was the moment that a great, under appreciated show would finally be recognized and you swept it under the rug.
I think perhaps Scott Pelley (who I think is an excellent anchor) should say something during the CBS evening news! Oh; I guess this show is beneath that in your opinion. Good thing it sounds like you, CBS are the ONLY ones who think this show is not worthy. There are millions of us out here who think the show IS worthy.
You didn’t have enough time to put this award presentation on-air? I think now you should take some of your precious air time to apologize.
I’m sure that if a CBS show had won, everyone from The Good Wife would have been up there onstage with the award, on air, in primetime.
Shame on all of your behind the People’s Choice Awards for making us all think that the PEOPLE choose the winners when, in the end, the executives still decide what is worthy of air time.
Time to apologize.
Now.
Come on SPN fandom we can get them to #1
http://www.buzzsugar.com/Favorite-CW-Shows-Including-Vampire-Diaries-Gossip-Girl-Supernatural-13347697
oh and PCA SUCK IT!!! i personally will never watch y’all again and i loved 2 broke girls!!! You pissed of the wrong FANDOM
Why not invite the most of winner: Johnny Depp, supernatural cast…
Oh, sorry PCA, but I think an entire world of people is mad at you. Maybe you should rethink your refusal to apologize?
I only even heard of PCA because of you disrespecting Supernatural.
Here in South Africa, we don’t even get PCA on national TV. We get Supernatural though. Doesn’t that tell you that the Supernatural fandom is actually bigger than you? And since I’ve heard it being described as a “cult” show, that maybe you should try not to make its fandom mad? Maybe?
Very disappointed doesn’t begin to describe it… PCA, why did what is arguably one of the most important categories get announced on TV? Particularly when that show won two awards? Supernatural doesn’t seem to get much time in the spotlight unless we, the fans, make it happen like when it won the first-ever “people’s choice” cover of TV Guide. For me, there was no best moment of the PCAs because what would have been the best moment didn’t happen. Supernatural’s short, humble acceptance speech was ten times more enjoyable to watch than your ad-bloated monstrosity of an awards show. Sorry.
I thought it was downright RUDE the way the award for Favorite Crime Show was given. Co-star, Stana, Katic, had it literally dropped in her lap. She wasn’t introduced or even allowed to stand to receive it, something that would have taken all of maybe 15 seconds. I definitely think you need to reassess the structure of your show.
i smell a ceiling fire in the works… PCA fuckin’ apologize for your rudeness… where are your manners!? i mean if 1 award doesn’t get you an invite and 2 won’t either.. who do we have to sacrifice to the gods for a fuckin’ invite? jared, jensen and the cast was, is and are awesome at whet they do.. they have a massive fan base and what does does it have to take for y’all to apologize or give ‘em some sort of compensation?? really pca? shame on you.
I’m french,i couldn’t watch your show, but i had vote many time cause i was happy that my belove Supernatural was nomine and take little recognisation, they win two awards and you don’t broadcast them, snub them ? I’m sure They have a lot of fans like me around the world, you have very disapointed all of us
Yaay congrats to Supernatural!! Shame nobody was invited to actually accept the awards but that’s ok PCA, we’ll just continue to keep supernatural all to ourselves =) at least us fans are able to recognise and appreciate good hard work when we see it.
Shame on you PCA, shame on you.
Are you PCA folks just clueless demons or what? Cause, you know, you just put yourself in the crosshairs of TONS of Supernatural fans.
Here is a link i got off of my twitter account for those of us who think the PCA’s handled the entire win of SPN wrong!!
http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/spnpcas/
This year was the first time I have ever watched this awards show, it is also probably the last as well. The only reason I watched is because Supernatural was nominated in the Network TV Drama category and I knew that was an award that is important enough to be announced during the show. Much to my surprise it wasn’t. Supernatural won TWO awards during the show and NO ONE from the cast, crew, or writers was invited to accept it. I noticed that there were other shows that won more than one award and they were definitely well represented. Isn’t it interesting though that The Vampire Diaries had three cast members there, yet only received one award. The only recognition Supernatural received that night was from a cast member of another show reading off which show won in the SciFi/Fantasy category. I understand of course that there are time constraints, but plently of time was given to Adam Sandler to make an acceptance speech which was more annoyingly long than funny. There was also plently of time given to the infomercials for hair care products and CVS Pharmacies, not to mention all the commercials for CVS inbetween and during the awards ceremony itself. Just because a show is not popular among mainstream audiences doesn’t mean it is unpopular. Shows like Supernatural rely on their fans to help promote it and in cases like these protest against the mistreatment we and our show has received. I can only hope that all the complaints and protests against our show’s mistreatment will motivate the PCAs to give a public apology to the cast, crew, and writers of Supernatural for their blatant snub. Hopefully then the PCAs will learn that in your attempts to ignore Supernatural you have only upset the fans and we will continue to make our voices heard until there is some acknowledgement of the PCAs wrongdoing to Supernatural and its fans.
I hardly think you need any more complaints about your appalling treatment of Supernatural at your ‘awards’ ceremony, but you are going to get one from me anyway.
Just a few choice words I think…
- ‘rude
- ‘disrespectful’
- ‘arrogant’
- ‘self-serving’
- ‘stupid’
and really, really ‘indefensible’
Apologise before you make even bigger fools of yourselves.
@TVD & TSC Fan-
Obviously, you’ve never bothered to watch Supernatural, lol. It’s about two HUMAN brothers who fight off Supernatural beings, and sure Sam may have weird demon powers or whatever and Dean may be ‘The Righteous Man’ but really, they don’t have superpowers. I’d love to see you take on a demon that killed your mother and then the love of your life. Or, heck, take on Lucifer himself, oh wait, you wouldn’t even know how to take on a ghost, idjit! I also think it was really shameful that they kind of swept Supernatural’s win under the rug even though it won two awards, one of which is a pretty major category.
I agree with poor and disrespectful treatment of Supernatural,it’s amazing actors (Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki), as well as the rest of the cast and crew of this truly incredible show. It won what is considered a major award but TWO of them should have brought the house down begging them to appear. What exactly is the deal here? I tuned in, eagerly waiting to see if our fandom had done it’s job, voting day and night for something we love and adore, to be snubbed by the PCA’s ideas of what should be shown. It was lame and I won’t make the same mistake again. I realize that no apology to Supernatural or it’s cast and crew will be given, but I would like them to know that we, as a fandom and supporters, appreciate them and love them regardless of what a supposed award show based on our choices does.
and lot’s not forget you snubbed Harry Potter as well, but they haven’t struggled under veiled attempts to discredit everything they do for the last 7 years, only to finally win awards (favorite TV Drama and Sci-Fi for goodness sakes!) and be snubbed by the very award show that claims to honor the choices of the fans.
After only having two hours of sleep the night before, I decided to stay up later than I last night should have so that I can watch Supernatural get some recognition.
Next thing I know I wasted hours for nothing, and I had P.T today and almost collapsed from lack of rest.
Disappointed Supernatural fan from Guam.
Great. Really great! I was so happy that Supernatural won all 2 awards it was nominated for, cause it deserved it and cause I voted by butt off, but so pissed to see that after 7 years of running it’s still snubbed and doesn’t get all the recognition it deserves. What a shameless and disrespectful move on behalf of PCA -.- I’m genuinely shocked.
The supernatural cast and crew knows that the fanbase will always LOVE them and support them and that’s all that really matters. Congrats, Supernatural <3<3<3
For me and many others I already talked too your behaviour was just poor…And thinking of what a strong fanbase Supernatural has (we already proved that a few times right?!)it was just stupid and shows that you are not interested in profitable acting, we would have pushed you to the best possible! But so, ups, does not happen… I think the only senseful thing which would show that you are willing to see your mistake would be a public appologize to the cast and crew of Supernatural!
I’ve got to agree with what JaJp just posted.
They are letting us vent our anger here while clocking up hits on their site, with no intention of giving out an apology or any satisfaction for the snub they delivered to Supernatural and its fans!
best dressed: definitely Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki. They rocked that red carpet! Loved their on-stage acceptance speech and I wanna congratulate the producers of the PCAs for the incredibly entertaining and not-product placed show that also included appreciating especially the 2 time winners of the night …. OH WAIT!!!!!!!!!!
Kate – Well said.
I know that Supernatural isn’t usually nominated for awards and I’m (sorta) fine with that, I’m used to it by now but when they were nominated for the People’s Choice (ESPECIALLY FOR THE BEST NETWORK DRAMA CATEGORY), I thought perfect, finally my chance to vote and try to get this show that I love some publicity if they win. I did vote, many many times.
I’m grateful that Jared and Jensen made that acceptance video for their FANS because that is the kinda guys they are. You should have shown it on the live broadcast as well though. Even better yet, planned to give the award to Jared and Jensen on stage therefore inviting them. I can’t buy it that you had no intention of NOT airing the Best TV Network Drama category during the live broadcast before you found out Supernatural won and that is unacceptable in the eyes of the cast, crew and fans of Supernatural.
Do you think they’re really reading these complaints? Nope. They don’t care at all except for all the hits they are racking up on their blog because of all the irate Supernatural fans.
Best outfit on the red carpet? Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki as Dean and Sam Winchester accepting their awards on set in Vancouver! Who cares about fancy dresses? We want to see respect and the recognition Supernatural deserves.
Your treatment of the winners of the Best Network Drama and Best SCi-fi Awards was completely unprofessional.
The “people” were asked to vote for their favourite shows, which they did.
Everything was legitimate and above board.
It was the PCA which behaved badly, not even inviting the winners of what is considered the most important Award amongst those presented!
Supernatural deserved its win and and the fans world-wide who voted deserved to see their efforts satisfied.
I am proudly among those and I was happy for once, that from afar, I could do something to help get the show more recognition.
It’s a wonderful show, and after seven years it deserved some reward, even if only from your sub-standard PCA show.
They should have been on stage to receive their awards.
There was obviously a blatant pregudice towards the show and Jared and Jensen had to accept their awards in a seconds long video, still dressed in their working clothes like two little Orphan Annies, which was then broadcast in a hidden moment of your kermesse!
PCA you should be ashamed of yourselves!
Are you sure you’re an awards show? The skits were lame and wasted too much time that could have been used up to give awards away. I can’t believe how you handled Castle’s award. You made it seem like an afterthought, like you were just carrying the award around and just handed it off to someone. I really don’t understand how you could not have invited anyone from Supernatural since they won two awards, one being a major one. But what made it even WORSE was that you didn’t even announce their TV Drama award on the live broadcast but instead on the online red carpet event. The fans voted and the fans wanted some recognition for their time and effort that was done on YOUR behalf. Don’t call it the People’s Choice if you don’t want the People’s votes.
I mean like
even if inviting is for superficial reasons
Ackles and Padalecki are stunnas. No one would object to seeing those faces in the seats, even if they had no idea who they where.
ANYWAY I was pretty bummed. It would have been fun, Supernatural’s fans are r e a l l y into the actors and crew-the cons? the tumblrs? the twitter followers?-and we would have showed up in hoards to re-watch, comment on and share clips of the boys onstage, and shown up next year too.
Kinda badly play there PCA
Badly played.
Yes it’s been said a million times, but it’s absolutely ridiculous that you barely mentioned Supernatural (though the same could be said of Harry Potter which hasn’t really been brought up).
How on earth can you write, “I know people were thrilled by Supernatural, Harry Potter and Katy Perry winning big…” When I don’t recall any of these 2 being properly recognized on the show? You briefly mentioned Supernatural’s smaller win as well as Harry Potter’s for an adaptation, yet don’t mention either of their bigger overall drama wins as TV show and movie respectively?
I also don’t recall seeing any of these start there. And while in the case of the Harry Potter cast and Katy Perry one can’t say if they were invited or not, the Supernatural cast wasn’t. That’s just ridiculous.
I don’t even watch the show myself, but IT WON. It won in the most prestigious TV category and wasn’t even shown? I don’t understand how anyone could find that anything but ridiculous.
If you’d simply take out some of the terrible product placement and jokes/bits (a few of which were kind of funny, but most of which were just bad) then you could maybe show things such as favorite overall TV shows, movies, musicians, etc.
If you can show a movie such as Water for Elephants, which barely grossed anything in theaters (no one watched it!) and obviously only won due to Robert Pattinson being in it, then I don’t see why you can’t show a TV show that supposedly no one watches winning.
And lastly since you asked, I’ll go with Nina Dobrev as best dressed.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Morgan Freeman but I was really dispointed that My all time favorite actor was not up for the icon award. Al Pacino. He has done so much more than Clooney
@Cherilyn – Yes, they invite people. Otherwise you’d end up with hundreds of people crashing every awards ceremony, every person who was ever on The Bad Girls Club showing up to the Oscars, etc.
My favorite moment was when my fandom got to enjoy seeing our two favorite actors up there receiving their much deserved awards (and long over due publicity, if I may add) – Oh wait – didn’t happen.
You had the tact to not only not invite the Supernatural cast, but also the nerve to not even MENTION in there that they won best tv drama.
You know, I’m not saying it’s going to be me, but you better get comfy, because this is only the cusp of our fandom family, and it’s going to be a huge pain for you all. For a long time to come.
Seriously, though, have some respect and apologize, at least. Just disregarding the whole darn thing makes you look even more arrogant.
Not just from the stand point of a fan, but from a moral stand point, too.
- First time watching this awards show – not going to watch it again. Thanks for the waste of time.
Kate I didn’t know peformers in any genre got “invited” to an awards show never heard of singers getting invited to the American Music Awards or the Grammys actors or actresses to the Golden Globes Oscars or Emmys
How DARE You snub Supernatural for all their hard work over the past 7 years! It was the 2nd year that they won Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy show and took home Favorite Network TV Drama and you DON’T INVITE THEM!!
All of the people at the PCA’s should be ashamed of this! But you invite the ENTIRE cast of the Vampire Diaries to the PCA’s, which not saying they suck or anything but the Supernatural Cast & Crew deserve WAY more recognition for their hard work over the past 7 years!
Thank you PCA’s for showing your true colors and your hatred for Supernatural.
Who on this planet organizes an award show and does not invite all of those who are nominated? oh yes, of course, the organizers of the PCA’s awardS!
PCA, listen very carefully:
Supernatural may not be a show with stupid and very repetitive and not to say overly-cliché romantic vampires or a show about doctors or anything like that for that matter, but you know what? That show has been on air during SEVEN years and I ‘ve sat through every SINGLE LAST episode aired until now, I’ve cried and laughed along with that show and is part of my life, the cast and us the fans are like family and after all this time of hard work when they finally won not one but TWO award you dare to take that away from them?
Those awards were well deserved by them and we the fans wanted them to win so we voted for them ans wanted to see them walking along the red carpet and to see them receive something that they truly after all this time deserve. It was just rude not to invite them, they were nominees for something, and if you took the time to invite those who weren’t even nominated why didn’t the organizer took the time to invite the cast of a show that had actually WON?
I assume that it was probably because of favoritism, but I will tell you this, Supernatural won because WE the fans love that show, yes it is a show about ghost, angels, demons and strange creatures and is nothing common that you may find on TV and that for us makes it special, that show has a place in our hearts because is a show were two brothers had been fighting against the world, probably not something that everyone would enjoy specially those who want to watch people having sex or making out every five minutes with an empty plot, we watch Supernatural because it has a plot that most of the time has everyone at the edge of the seats every friday waiting for the moment when the less expected thing happens, and believe me up until now I must say that show has one of the best plots on TV.
PCA’s next time think it TWICE before doing anything as rude as not inviting the cast of a SHOW that won, we may not be the biggest fanbase around but believe me when enraged no one goes against the Supernatural family, because that’s what we are, family…together till the end. Not every fan is rabid as they say but we are very passionate and over-protective of every member of the SPN cast because for us they are special and give us a show that we enjoy and love.
@TVD & TSC Fan – Their bodyguard confirmed they weren’t invited – seems like pretty good proof to me.
As per your thoughts about the quality of the show, I’m not going to debate you on that. It doesn’t matter if you think it sucks or if I think it’s terrific. The show won, and deserved to get recognized because of that. End of story.
So I guess I’m not the only Supernatural fan pissed by the fact that the show was barely mentioned, huh?
I honestly watched PCA until the end because I wanted to see the cast and crew get up on stage and accept TWO awards. But yeah, that didn’t happen.
I voted for this. I was really proud to know the result. To know they had won.
And they weren’t even invited? Seriously?
Not a great move.
YOU PISSED OFF THE WRONG FANBASE, YOU FUDGERS.
I’d just like to point out to all those Supernatural Fans, are you 100 sure that the cast weren’t invited? Did you ever think that maybe they just turned down the invitation since they had other stuff (such as filming{many other casts didn’t show up because of this reason}) or because they didn’t think they would stand a chance against the other nominees? I personally can’t believe Ian Somerhalder didn’t win in his category, and that Vampire Diaries and Secret Circle didn’t win. Atleast the writers of these shows have some basic understanding of plotlines. What the hell is the point of Supernatural. “Ooohhh, we’re a bunch of idiots with superpowers, but the only thing you need to look at is our hot faces, cuz nothing else is really important or even interesting for that matter.” Atleast the other shows have learned how to combine gorgeous actors/actresses and interesting, fairly-easy-to-follow plots.
But hey, thats just my opinion.
The snubbing of Supernatural was a disgrace. People noticed. It does not reflect favorably on your awards show that you are so biased.
Supernatural really needs SOMEONE to recognize them! The show and all the hard work that goes in to it, never gets any attention! Even from it’s own damn network. I’m pretty sure the Supernatural fan base also won in a poll for the most “loyal” fans. And now they are all enraged. Be afraid, we are a rabid variety when wronged! And you, PCA, messed up pretty bad. Sucks to be you.
This is supposed to be the People’s Choice Awards!! Well, from the majority of these comments it’s very clear to see that the ‘People’are very upset and angry because their choice for best TV drama & sci-fi/fantasy show weren’t even recognised on the actual show, and none of the stars/crew were even invited. This is a disgrace they deserve better than that and we the ‘People’ deserve better than that. I mean not even airing the award for best network TV drama on the actual show – this is not a minor award, it’s the biggest TV award. I think you should change your name because your show was not what the ‘people’would choose!
I sure felt that my choice was heard. I’m sure certain nominees were very pleased they weren’t invited to a some award show that they won it-yet people who weren’t even nominated were taking up rows upon rows of seats.
In all honesty CBS, consider this the last time I watch this show, and I’ll be sure to tell others not to waste their time with a clearly biased awards show that only care about their own series-and in general a huge waste of time.
I hope you apologize not to the fans but to the entire crew and cast of Supernatural because the sheer inconsideration that you showed them is unbelievable. It is understandable if Sci-Fi award was not shown, but not showing Drama as well is simply inexcusable. To the fans who spent hours voting and to be just dismissed to a preshow streaming is dismissing not only the fans, but the actors/actresses/crew who worked extremely hard for the last seven years.
The blatant disrespect is ridiculous, and I hope this network makes a public, formal apology because Supernatural deserves nothing less.
i like cake watch your mouth that language does not belong on here
**not air
Heck such rudeness is bothering my train of thought
Megan I can’t believe the way you’re ranting, first I didn’t know performers in any genre were “invited” to an awards ceremony….second I thought you knew that a lot of swards aren’t handed out on television….a lot of Oscars, Emmys and Grammys aren’t handed out on television
Supernatural and The Vampire Diaries were the reason I watched this award show.
I was thrilled to find out Nina Dobrev on best TV Drama actress; then I found out that Supernatural won TWO awards and they didn’t even invite them, or worse air their acceptance speech.
That’s just rude.
YOU’RE WORSE THAN SERA GAMBLE. AND THAT ONE TIME I GOT VD FROM A HOOKER. SHAME ON YOU, PCA, SHAAAAAAME.
FREE HAT
An “unknown show” wins TWO awards, one of which is one of the most prestigious of the TV category and you don’t invite them? Wait! First off, if they are so unknown that you felt the need not to invite them (or even televise their acceptance speech, or acknowledge them really at all), how did they win? Oh yes, because the fans voted for them. This is PEOPLES CHOICE after all. But what gets me, is this small show has such devoted fans that they managed to pull out TWO wins and you still had the guts to not invite them? I am just trying to see your thinking in this one… rabid fans vote tirelessly to get their show to win, but then you decide not to acknowledge this win… did you not think these rabid fans were not going to say something about this? Did that not come across the table when the decision was made not to invite them? Did you not think that the small fanbase that voted so much was just going to sit back and say, “oh well”… seriously?
This show has been on the air SEVEN years! Longer than any other show on their network (A LOT longer than Vampire Diaries!) and I guess we fans mistakenly thought that voting for them on a PEOPLES CHOICE awards show was going to get them the recognition that this show deserves. Have any of you who make these decisions even seen the show? I highly doubt it! I have yet to meet someone who sees at least ONE episode that doesn’t at least give the show the respect it deserves. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but you cannot deny the talent that is behind this show! Just because it’s not a vampire romance or a show about law or doctors doesn’t mean it’s not quality TV!
Jensen Ackles ALONE is one of THE most talented actors on television today! His ability to evoke emotion with just a glance is ASTOUNDING! His portrayal of Dean Winchester is an art form! Not only is Jensen a fantastic artist but he is also an amazing director! Not to mention the crew! ARTISTS! The director of cinematography, Serge Ladouceur, is a GENIUS! This show is SO much more than ghosts and demons! So sorry it doesn’t have a smoking hot female lead to over sexify the show, or have random trysts with the main characters and some lucky ladies all that often, IT’S NOT ALL ABOUT SEX PEOPLE! Some people actually watch television for the plot and the artistry of the show, which MANY if not ALL Supernatural fans do! Yes, Jared and Jensen are extremely good looking guys, but this storyline, these brothers, and the artistry of this show are what keep it holding strong with the fans. To snub this show just because YOU don’t know what it’s about is just plain wrong and disrespectful to YOUR viewers!
I truly hope that you realize the mistake you have made, in not only snubbing a great show and a devoted family, but in the way this is going to affect your image. We may be a small fandom, but we are mighty and stand together. We do ask in all sincerity that a statement be made regarding this indiscretion. An apology to the boys in the least for snubbing them and disrespecting their hard work. (Because by not inviting them that was exactly what you were doing!)
I do apologize for any of the rabid fans out there that have not taken a more appropriate approach to their letters and comments. This fandom is passionate about this show and our boys and disrespect on them is disrespect on us.
Again we only ask for a public statement and apology.
Thank you for the work you put into the award show, it can’t be easy, but oversights like this should be taken into account and addressed accordingly.
By far the WORST award show… To begin with Supernatural…what the hell PCA, not inviting someone cause you’re jealous is never the right way to handle a situation. Honestly you guys could’ve at least announced their award. Second all the crummy ad’s and lame jokes. So cheesy and it just shows that you guys are a bunch of sell outs in this egotistical generation of complete crap music/tv/movie industry with live in.
I was quite displeased with the lack of recognition which Supernatural received during the 2012 People’s Choice Awards, particularly for the Best TV Drama Award. This competition purports itself to be a celebration of the creative entertainment which people like most. While it is true that Supernatural has a very avid fan base, this fact should not be held as a detriment to Supernatural, but should instead be recognized as a testament to how much love and commitment the cast, crew, writers, and directors put into this fantastic show. It is true Supernatural is not a show which every television consumer would enjoy, but it is an intriguing and inventive piece of entertainment which deserves the recognition the people tried to provide to them.
I hope you consider these types of actions in the future. The integrity of the PCA’s is definitely in question and continued actions such as these will certainly relegate the PCA’s to another forgotten awards show that is no longer respected or remembered by the people and therefore by the networks as well.
Zoe watch your language….geez you could have said unbelievable…..or even umbelievable like the late Brittany Murphy as Tai did in “Clueless”
Supernatural is amazing. They deserved to be invited and they are not just a “little tv show” that you can air a short video of to please their fandom. NO. We are the SPN fandom, and we stand united against the evils of the PCAs.
Oh, and did I mention how ANGRY I was to find out that Pretty Little Liars didn’t get to accept their awards on stage? They are a wonderful TV show and I love them dearly, and yet they only thanked the PCAs for their awards in short red-carpet and backstage videos.
You guys really messed this one up. I will not be watching next year.
whats up with not giving supernatural any air time….it won two awards and deserves the recognition the fans that voted expect. Shame on you PCAs, SHAME ON YOU!!!
THE FANS HAVE SPOKEN. I believe it’s time to make a formal apology not just to Jared and Jensen, but to the entire cast and crew of Supernatural. By refusing to invite Jared and Jensen, and on top of that, not broadcasting their success during the ACTUAL SHOW, you completely snubbed and covered up what everyone on Supernatural worked so hard to achieve. You didn’t just wrong the actors. You didn’t just wrong the fans. You wronged everyone who has ever had anything to do with Supernatural, from the makeup artists to the writers. Shame on you.
My favorite moment was when… Oh that’s right, it DIDN’T HAPPEN! PCA should be Ashamed of themselves. Believe me I won’t EVER watch the awards again, and I hope it dies a slow, painful death. Not inviting Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, and the rest of the cast and crew of Supernatural was APPALLING! The show won for Favorite Network TV Drama, and yet they weren’t invited? Really? Just goes to show how stupid you people are.
I don’t understand why a major award like Best Drama was not a part of the broadcast. What was the point of voting if a win is just ignored?
Unfortunately, after I had finished watching the People’s Choice Award’s last night I was thoroughly disappointed. As a Supernatural fan I had voted repeatedly to try and help my favourite show win both the awards they had been nominated for, alongside thousands of other fans. I personally felt insulted that they were only mentioned during the ceremony once and for the less prestigious of the two awards. I would have thought that a less popular show, that seems to receive this treatment often, would have had a better chance of getting the publicity it clearly deserves at an award show that promotes it’s desire to express the interests of it’s viewers. Clearly I was mistaken.
I realize that there are indeed time restraints, and that not all of the awards could be handed out during the ceremony. However, the fact that one of the most recognized awards wasn’t even mentioned during the actual ceremony is appalling. The show seemed unprofessional, from skits that weren’t remotely entertaining to performances that were less than stellar, I am unsure what the people organizing this event were doing with their time.
I also believe that being the video of Supernatural’s cast with their awards was played during the preshow, (Which had been only streamed might I add), that their categories’ votes had already been counted. While this would obviously have to be true for all the categories in order for the planning to be successful, I felt that it also influenced which awards would be presented live.
My other issue is that the invitations weren’t prioritized properly. How can you run an award show, in which some of the nominees are not even invited to attend? The possibility of them winning is negligible, and should not affect their opportunity to attend. Publicity is obviously important, but how can you dictate who is allowed to come, without taking into consideration the awards themselves? I saw countless celebrities in the crowd who had not even been nominated. So why weren’t these seats being used for the nominees?
Regardless if they win or not, or if their award is being given out during the ceremony, I believe all nominees should be in attendance UNLESS it conflicts with THEIR schedule. How can you advertise an award show that says it’s the people’s choice, but then use YOUR power to poorly impact the outcome and quality of the event?
I was disappointed, I had watched the awards to see if the show I had spent countless hours voting for win and all I got was a mention by someone who wasn’t even there.
Next year, I suggest you prioritize the categories on importance, and the guests relating directly to the awards, meaning ALL nominees receive an invitation. I could care less if I see countless world renown celebrities. All I had wanted out of the show, was to see the guys I know work hard, win the awards they earned in person.
It was rude and it offended the fans of the show, I hope you can be more considerate next year. To both the cast of the nominees, and the fans who love them for their effort.
Thank you.
Hey, remember that time Supernatural was nominated for the most important award in the TV category, and they wiped the floor with the other contestants and won Best Drama and Best Sci-Fi show. And then Jared and Jensen came up to accept the award and the fandom stood up in praise…oh wait, that would have happened if they were INVITED.
Douche move PCA. Seriously? WHO DOESN’T INVITE A NOMINEE?
Now you’ve got 1000′s of rabid SPN fangirls on your back. Congratulations. You have properly disgraced your awards show and proven that it IS a popularity contest, and you can’t accept that the “nerdy” or “uncool” show beat out the more mainstream shows. I know for certain you would have announced if TVD or House won, because they are POPULAR. I can’t even believe the one awards show that was supposed to be chosen BY THE PEOPLE still can’t be fair.
That had to have been the WORST “awards” show i ever had the displeasure of sitting thru.It was a complete train wreck in motion. Most of the show centered on comedy. I’m sorry, but I didn’t tune in to watch 2 hours of crappy homage to comedy and shameful product pimping. As another poster said, I will be sticking with Walgreen’s, screw CVS and all the other products flaunted non-stop on your show. Then there was the most despicable action of the night- SNUBBING THE WINNER OF FAVORITE TV DRAMA, WHICH IS A MAJOR CATEGORY! I’m of the belief that the true reason the show and crew were snubbed is because it beat out the CBS darling “The Good Wife”. I don’t think it was a coincidence that the show Supernatural defeated is on the same network airing the pca. Now, if you (the pca and cbs) didn’t think that snub would came back to bite you in the butt, you’re sadly mistaken. You not only managed to royally piss off a very devoted fandom, but you may have also contributed to tarnishing the image (and perhaps ratings) of CBS and all of it’s shows (particularly, The Good Wife). So while you may have succeeded in snubbing a very worthy and deserving show, you also are now feeling the repercussions of that arrogant act.Irregardless of whether you like it or not, YOU OWE SUPERNATURAL,ITS CAST AND CREW AND ALL OF THE FANS A PUBLIC APOLOGY AND HONEST EXPLANATION. THERE IS NO GETTING AROUND THIS. THERE IS NO PUBLIC ‘DAMAGE CONTROL’ THAT CAN FIX YOUR DELIBERATE AND TASTELESS ACT. YOUR REFUSING TO COMMENT OR APOLOGIZE IS JUST ADDING TO YOUR PR DISASTER. GROW A PAIR AND DO THE RIGHT THING. APOLOGIZE!
My favorite part? Oh that was when Jared and Jensen from Supernatural finally stepped onto the stage to accept their award for Favorite TV Drama! Man I was so excited to see them and the crew get a little recognition for all their hard work..
Except that didn’t happened, did it. PCA my ass. >:(
Severely disappointed that you failed to mention Supernatural winning not one but TWO awards, one being in a very important category. Unprofessional and down right mean. I will not be watching next year.
You said “the stars were all over the place.” Yes, they were, like in Vancouver where the SUPERNATURAL stars, Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki, were hard at work, since, like Cinderella they didn’t get invited to the ball. I expected PCA to announce Supernatural’s Favorite Fantasy win in as few seconds as possible (which they did, trying to distract people from even listening to the announcement with the PLL actresses). I was looking forward to the Favorite Network Drama announcement and hoping that SPN would win that and finally get a moment of major network spotlight while the five finalists were announced, and more face time if they won.
Therefore, I was quite stunned when Kaley C. walked up to the stage after the Favorite Network Comedy award was announced and closed the show. I stared at the television as the credits rolled, thinking “but they can’t have done THAT. Not announcing Favorite Network Drama? That’s akin to the Academy Awards not mentioning the Oscar for Best Picture.”
Then I found out afterwards that the reason that Favorite Network Drama wasn’t even mentioned was because SUPERNATURAL WON!!!! Extremely class act there, PCA.
I hope CBS has the good sense to cancel your obviously censored and slanted view of what the People’s Choice Awards should be. BTW, Supernatural wasn’t the only show that was treated disrespectfully. The way that the PCA teardrop award was off-handedly given to Stana for Castle winning the Favorite Crime Drama was downright embarassing.
I don’t get this. How could the winners of 2 awards not invited to the awards show? Wow. Just. Wow.
The point of this award show was to recognize who the fans love most, to give some recognition to the shows that are routinely under-recognized and under-appreciated. So who the heck are you to say who we picked wasn’t good enough for your show? To tell a passionate group of fans and seriously dedicated cast and crew that they’re STILL not going to be recognized? What you did to Supernatural is so completely unacceptable I’m still shocked. And appalled.
Do us all a favor and when next year rolls around? If there are shows or people you’re going to refuse to acknowledge as winners during the ceremony, don’t let us vote for them. Have the balls to be honest up front that you have no intention of honoring the winners you don’t think are good enough for your show.
You do know what Supernatural is about, right?
We’ve kind of learnt a trick or two about dealing with the “dicks” of the world after seven seasons of the show. You really should have thought twice before snubbing Supernatural, and by extension every person in the fandom, because there really isn’t anything we won’t do to protect and praise the show that we love.
I don’t know about ‘best’ or ‘most favorites’ because I usually don’t watch crap like this ever, because I think that awards ceremonies are usually just back-slapping self-aggrandizement-fests. And outright snubs like the one that Jensen Ackles, Misha Collins, Jared Padalecki, Jim Beaver and the rest of the crew of Supernatural received as a result of snagging two awards (one of which was Best Drama, which is a feat that’s nothing to shake a stick at) are EXACTLY why I don’t bother.
People’s Choice? Uhh, no. More like Big Three Network’s choice, as per usual. See, ’cause – the people chose. The FANS CHOSE. We chose Supernatural because we love those boys and wanted them to win.
Because they’ve been working like dogs for 7 years now and even though this show isn’t what it used to be, we still love *them* and appreciate *them* and all the hard work they put into this thing. You don’t dedicate seven years – SEVEN. YEARS. – of your life to something and bust your ass to make it the best thing you can only to finally get recognized and then get treated like the last kid nobody wants on their dodgeball team.
What you did to Jensen, Jared and Misha was beyond rude and inconsiderate and you owe them – and all the fans who voted for them, so that they could have this moment to be recognized and appreciated – an apology.
So Supernatural is a genre show. So what? Jensen Ackles is one of the finest actors working today. He should have had ten Golden Globes under his belt by now for his work as Dean Winchester. But he doesn’t have those much deserved accolades. And why not? Because the show’s not ‘serious’ drama? Because it’s got spooky stuff in it? Because it’s occasionally gory? Yet you hook the entire cast of Vampire Diarrhea up with tickets to go to the damn ceremony taping? Your double-standards are showing, PCA.
You did wrong by this cast and this show and its fans. We won these boys those two awards and they deserved the chance to accept them in front of that audience, on that stage, in front of all the casts of all those other shows, and be reckoned with. Because we’re small fandom but we love these guys with everything we’ve got.
Apologize to Jensen, Jared and Misha and the fans. Do it publicly and do it now, before you look like even more biased dickbags than you already made yourselves out to be by not inviting the cast of Supernatural to take part in this ceremony in the first place.
I have to say that I’m certainly glad I bothered to watch the pre-show, or I would’ve sat through all that pointless crap that you called an award show for nothing. The fact that not a single cast or crew member from Suprnatural was invited to accept the awards that they so deserved, not that they were actually mentioned, is appalling. I will certainly not be watching again next year if it’s going to be another commercial filled bore fest. You don’t mess with this family.
I liked the part where Jared and Jensen–oh wait.
Seriously, no disrespect towards the hard working people who put got the show running, but to the network executives who opted to leave the Supernatural cast out completely–show some humility, and apologize. Heck, at least ACKNOWLEDGE their existence. It’s called being polite. It doesn’t hurt to take 10 seconds out of your two hour time slot to at least MENTION THEIR NAMES.
My favorite part was watching all the people that didn’t win awards and who weren’t even nominated sit in the crowd while Jared and Jensen were on the screen accepting not one, but TWO awards. How can you even think that it’s okay to not invited nominees? They won TWO awards. TWO. Can you count? They should have been invited, the whole cast and crew should have been invited. They shouldn’t be ignored and tossed aside. their fans love them and that’s why the show is on its SEVENTH season. Because they have fans. This is called the PEOPLES choice awards right? Since when did we not count in the PEOPLE. Get your stupid arrogant prissy heads out of your butts and wake up! Next time, invite ALL the nominees. And don’t piss off the Supernatural fandom.
SUPERNATURAL.
our boys deserved all the awards and more, yet, hmmm where were they?
oh yeah
THEY WEREN’T EVEN INVITED.
didn’t momma ever teach you it isn’t nice to not invite EVERYONE?
don’t be threatened by their AMAZING and their AWESOME.
it’s just
super
~natural~
BOOM
it was a tribute to gay and lesbian on tv
To join in on the rage here, I found the parts of PCA that I actually watched to be disgusting. The humour was forced and not funny in the slightest. The blatant advertising was beyond annoying. I’ll be purposely avoiding every sponsor.
And don’t even get me started in the obvious disrespect for Supernatural. I may have my problems with it sometimes, but it deserves recognition, not a passing mention.
PCA, I hope you crash and burn.
My favorite part of the PCA was reading all these comments and laughing at the fact that the PCA were dumb enough to enrage the most rabid fanbase on the planet.
As everyone before me has said, shame on you for not giving Supernatural the recognition it deserves. The cast, crew, and fans of that show are one of a kind and the fans are more dedicated than any other fanbase out there. I feel so bad for Jared and Jensen for not even getting an INVITE to the show, and I hope that next year you will be fair to the shows that are actually, ya know, chosen by the people…since this is the PEOPLE’S Choice Awards and all.
The disrespect you showed Supernatural was unbelievable. This was a blatant show of favoritism to more ‘mainstream’ shows. If House or the Vampire Diaries had won TV Drama, I am 99% sure it would have been aired. That was not the worst thing though. The worst thing was not even inviting the stars! Supernatural deserved those awards, and us fans voted for days on end to get them the recognition.
I wasted two hours of my life struggling to get through your product placement and your idiotic attempts at humor just to get a glimpse at Jared’s and Jensen’s faces when the accepted the award onstage. Onstage. Not in some little video you allowed them to do as a goddamn consolation prize.
We won. Fair and square. And you won’t even give us the satisfaction of seeing our hard work pay off.
My favorite part was when Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles walked across the stage for the first time to accept 2 awards…
Oh, right. Didn’t happen.
I am very disappointed in the People’s Choice Awards for not giving Supernatural the recognition it DESERVES.
I’m honestly really disappointed. Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki deserved to have been invited, and I’m appalled that they were not. Their devotion to the show and the fans is remarkable and they are both wonderful people. What was the point in letting “the people” vote if you are going to completely shun the cast and crew of a show that won, not just one, but TWO awards, one of them being Drama, a MAJOR, award?? I’ll be polite as I can about this, but I’m upset to say the least. Supernatural and its two star actors is a highly under appreciated show despite the brilliant acting, intricate story lines, charismatic characters, and the very loyal fanbase. I’m new to the show, but I’ve been watching catching up and I have rarely felt so drawn to a show simply by the brilliant portrayal of the characters. This show is about family, especially that beyond blood, and Jared and Jensen deserved to be able to have this moment with their fans-the extension of the Winchester/Supernatural family. I would hope that an apology is given to the Supernatural cast and crew for not being invited when they so obviously deserved it.
Why should anyone bother voting in the PCAs anymore if the show doesn’t honor and respect our choices? It is ridiculous and insulting to the people you claim the awards are for, that you didn’t air the biggest TV award of the night because you apparently were either completely unaware of the show or the PCA TPTB decided that an incorrect choice was made by the people. Talk about making a mockery of your own awards show.
The best moment was when Supernatural won 2 awards. Shame on you PCA for not even allowing the cast and crew to make a speech on stage during the actual show. Had to watch the shortened 30 sec. video from the pre-show to see Jensen and Jared’s speech.
Please, save your credibility, show a little humility, and apologize.
There is a reason why stories about the underdog have such resonance. Choose to do the right thing. Do not be the heartless conglomeration only interested in making a buck. Acknowledge the little show that could and all the fans who worked so hard to give it this one chance in the limelight.
Make this a good story.
My favorite part was when I switched off the television set because I was simply too appalled that PCA showed such blatant disrespect and unprofessional conduct to the winners of two awards. How dare you disinclude the Supernatural cast from your high and mighty ceremony.
I really hope whoever runs PCA reads these comments because you need to get that giant Hollywood stick out of your ass. Supernatural deserved to be there. They won TWO awards. I’m sick of the fact that the only praise they get is from us fans. They deserve a hell of a lot more for what they do. The show is incredible.
So it was preeettyyy rude of you guys not to invite Jared and Jensen. Supernatural deserves sooo much more than that! Do you ever hear of fans from other tv shows telling stories about how their favourite Tv show has helped them? ah no.
Supernatural has helped their fans all across the world, they’ve helped us all, for courage, for strength, for loss, to live life to the fullest, to Love. I’ve read stories, about fans who have been through so much and the boys are always there for them. Really I shouldn’t even be saying the word ‘fans’ that doesn’t cut it…We’re family, all of us.
Those boys deserved to go, more than anyone else.
And you…You pissed off one very large Family…
But of course if there’s one thing we’ve learned from Supernatural it’s forgiveness, but you’ll be lucky to even get that.
My favorite part of the awards show was…
oh wait, I didn’t watch it. I’m also really glad I didn’t waste my time. Apparently one of the biggest awards you give at this ceremony went un-televised during the actual event. That’s classy.
It was incredibly disrespectful and unprofessional to not air Supernatural for winning 2 awards. One of which was a major one, Best TV Drama, which is aired every year. Then to not even invite them is rude on a whole new level. If you aren’t going to listen to what the people want, change the name of you god damn awards show. We’re done.
Right not there are 252 comments (not including this one). Out of 252 only 21 comments (<10%) were NOT about the PCAs snubbing Supernatural. Those 21 comments are still all complaints about poor production, blatant advertising, and poor taste. Hopefully you see the problem here?
My favorite part was when PCA was dumb enough to piss off the Supernatural fandom…
My favorite moment was when Jared and Jensen accepted their awards via a video message instead of actually being there.
Oh, and then when the PLL cast announced only one of their awards, almost like an afterthought, towards the end of the show.
Just out of curiousity, why wasn’t the Supernatural cast invited? Seeing as they were nominated for two awards, one of which was Favorite Network TV Drama, a pretty important award.
I used to like the People’s Choice Awards, CBS, but now, I’m really disappointed in you.
MY favorite moment? EVERY. SINGLE. COMMENT. ON THIS PAGE.
My favorite moment is how Every Single Comment here is from a Supernatural fan. Literally. Every single one.
I love my fandom. I really do.
Also, to not invite ANYONE from Supernatural?
Unacceptable and completely unprofessional.
Hey, remember that time Supernatural won two awards? Oh wait, I guess not since it wasn’t announced nor the cast and crew invited to accept their win. Too bad these hardworking guys didn’t get the chance to show their genuine thanks to their fans.
Way to go.
This is a post brought to you by another pissed off Supernatural fan.
Shame on you for neglecting Supernatural. We’re used to it, but the fandom worked hard to win those awards for our favorite show, and your program almost entirely ignored it. I was extremely disappointed.
Your awards show sucked.
I’m boycotting CBS.
. . . fuckers.
The best moment was when Jensen, Jared, Misha and everyone came up on stage and accepted their awards for…
oh wait.
I think it’s pretty obvious by now but another comment won’t hurt. The best moment was when Supernatural won 2 awards and happily accept said well deserved awards on stage — OH WAIT, nope that didn’t happen. So disrespectful, I will not be watching the PCAs next year.
my best moment? SUPERNATURAL winning the best drama and SciFi award, but you didn`t air it!!!! oh yeah, a message in the red carpet… COME ON!!! they deserved to be invited!!!!! why they didn`t go????? they WON 2 awards!!! there were people there that didn`t won anything and was there, really you should say something about it, a response to all the fans cause we are more than indignated!!!! we deserve an APOLOGIZE!!!
Besides the fact that it wasn’t funny at all, I’d say the worst moment was when Supernatural was only slightly mentioned. You sure messed with the wrong fandom PCA.
It always amazes me how so many people think they can snub Supernatural, even it’s own network.
But fuck you, we’re the little show that could, and we survive based off of an avid fanbase and guess what, the actors KNOW IT. We try to win what we can so our favorite show can get some spotlight so thank you so much for ruining our hard work with that. Thank you, “People’s” Choice Awards. If you ask me, it’s all about your own network, rather than the people. Next time just call it “CBS’ favorite People and Shows Awards,” and save us all the trouble, okay?
My favorite part? Before the show, when Jensen and Jared accepted their awards in costume and made everyone else seem pale in comparison, and after the show, when the most talked about show was Supernatural, which received less air time than CVS.
Supernatural is certainly used to being under-rated and snubbed. But, quite frankly, the fans are sick of it. Jensen, Jarod, and the rest of the team that makes Supernatural so awesome deserve their just rewards. I guess even when the PEOPLE decide….ultimately those that work at PCA get the final vote. It’s really an unfair and cruel way to treat the PEOPLE, wouldn’t you say?
Best New Drama Goes to recorded video of jensen and jared of supernatural wow how nice of tpc to grace spn fans with this pre recorded video?? the cast deserved the right to be there the fans deserved to see they favorite show personally and every right to be there to accept award screw you peoples choice.
You know what of been epic if you actually invited the cast of Supernatural, you know the people who won those two main awards.
Yeah that would of been cool, and fair. -_-
You know what’s funny? You didn’t have time to broadcast the video during the show But did you have enough time to have Kelly (I hold nothing against her) talking about twitter and her dresses for about 5 minutes (which could have been enough time to broadcast the Supernatural video). THAT I don’t get it! But OF COURSE, there wasn’t enough time to broadcast such and important category as BEST NETWORK DRAMA is!
Hey, my favourite moment could have been Supernatural getting recognised by they peers during the show. Also, Jared and Jensen thanking their fans; because they won TWO awards (which they deserve) after all this years of hard work. But no, I guess they are not important after all and you decided they didn’t deserve the time and you didn’t even INVITE THEM. You know what? You messed up with the wrong fandom PCA (or better: We-do-what-we-want Awards).
The cast&crew of Supernatural deserve a formal and public apologize! This is the best fandom and we won’t until we get what we want.
Really disappointed by the Supernatural snub. Did you all honestly think it would go unnoticed and unmentioned?
First of all, echoing all the comments before. Shame on you guys for dismissing Supernatural!!!
Second, the show was unfunny and quite frankly embarrassing to watch.
boycot CBS!
I know this has been said hundreds of times already but it’s such a shame you decided to snub two hard-working actors and their crew despite the fact they won perhaps one the most important awards of the night. I’m glad I didn’t bother tuning in to this show because what would have been the point I want to watch the peoples choice winners not the networks choice of non-genre awards.
The supernatural fandom is large especially online and very loyal. We are a family and if you hurt one of us you hurt us all.
I demand not only a personal apology to the cast and crew of Supernatural, but also an official apology on your main page to the cast AND crew AND fans of Supernatural.
You’re really screwed now, PCA.
On behalf of the Supernatural cast, crew and fandom I DEMAND YOUR APOLOGY FOR SNUBBING THE WINNER OF TWO AWARDS. UNFUCKINGBELIEVABLE.
Best moment?
When Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki went on stage to receive the award for Best Network Drama AND Best Scifi/Fantasy!
OH! Wait a minute. That didn’t happen because People’s Choice Awards didn’t so much as extend an invitation to them.
Shame on you, PCA, for showing them such disrespect.
LEVIATHANS.
Did you guys really think that you could treat a show like that, and there wouldn`t be consequences? The least you can do is to give an apology to the Supernatural cast and crew. They worked hard to make a great show that is loved by many. And you guys at PCA disappointed us all, by treating them like that.
I agree with everyone else here about Supernatural. They did a wonderful job and won BEST DRAMA for all their hard work, but didn’t even get to go to the ceremony. I was looking forward to seeing them accept their awards on stage but then…
Yea, bit of a let down. Try to do better next time.
I’m gonna agree with every single other poster on here. How dare you snuff Supernatural for winning the PCA’s most coveted award and misplacing their invitations! You disgust me, you really do.
We’ll never know who was best dressed because the classiest cast didn’t get an invite. You remember them don’t you? They won two awards and their fandom is tearing you a new one?
How classy, guys. Real classy. Don’t even invite or mention the winners of 2 awards.
What does this get you? Honestly.
I know, you get to be the most despised award show ever to have aired.
Give yourselves a pat on the back. You deserve it.
It was highly disrespectful toward all of the cast and crew of Supernatural, and disappointing for all of the fans, to not mention the fact that they won not one, but two awards.
Supernatural was the only reason I bothered to watch the PCA’s, and even then I could hardly tell they won.
And they didn’t even get an invite? This is just rude and disgusting.
Im just joining all the other supernatural fans in showing how pissed we are . Everything has been said already so just apologize already !!!
I really do think that Supernatural should have been given a bigger part in this. Supernatural is a show which has a small following and the fact that so many people would vote for it and want it to have it’s special moment is amazing and something us fans look forward too. And barely a mention is kind of horrible for a show that won two awards. One of them a major award. It isn’t quite right
Let’s see. I had a few favorite moments. So, I really liked it when I saw Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki being interviewed on the red carpet. Oh no wait. Oh. no, no, sorry, that moment did not exist.
Well, how about when Jensen and Jared’s faces were shown smiling and laughing with the loads of other (some not even talented) invitees there. Oh. Shoot, that didn’t happen either?
Ok, so one more: I really, really enjoyed it when I got to see Jensen and Jared being shown walking up the stage TWO times, accepting the awards Supernatural won for TWO different categories, and saying their thank you speeches for the fans who spend endless hours voting for the show. Goshdarnit, wrong again?
I guess I have no favorable moments from the PCA after all.
You might want to step up your game next year, PCA, because you have let down a lot of people this year. And it’s something you won’t be forgiven for very easily.
awww man thank you PCa for making it happen and bringing Supernatural and Stage ..and letting Jensen and jared proudly take their awards WoooW!!!!!!!!! Shame on you all …at least what u can do after this make them THE Hosts of the show Next year 2013 and Apologize …u dunno how upset and rage we are now …i don’t think am gonna watch PCA after this anymore :/
I am truly appalled at the way Supernatural was treated last night. They won not just one, but two awards. I know that the Sci Fi winner isn’t usually presented, but favorite Network TV Drama is a major award and is always represented in the actual ceremony in some way. At first I thought that maybe their shooting schedule had gotten in the way, which is understandable with how incredibly hard the Supernatural cast and crew works. So, honestly, you should have shown their acceptance video on the actual show. Then I find out that the cast wasn’t even invited? Completely disrespectful. They won one of the major awards that was being presented, but I guess that only counts if the show is deemed acceptable by you all, correct? I think the least you could do is send a formal apology to the cast and crew. I hope you feel incredibly embarrassed by your deplorable actions. Maybe next year you’ll think twice before snubbing a major-winning show again.

Most awards shows would never dream of not showing Best TV Drama or SciFi winners – but because Supernatural isn’t “mainstream” enough for LIVE tv Jensen and Jared get a few seconds to humbly accept their award on the pre show that few people got to watch.
I did however catch that they left the last 3 tv show awards for the end of the show, and guess what?! All 3 were from CBS!!
I am very disapointed in this year’s show and I think the slogan should be “The People’s Choice Awards, where your vote count’s but we don’t need to share it with everyone.”
Why would the cast & crew of any of the nominated shows (i.e. Supernatural) not be included? That’s an obvious snub & disrespectful to the show, those involved with the show, & the fans who voted for the show. PCA should be both embarrassed & ashamed. I hope that, in the future, those responsible will have the common sense & courtesy to avoid such an obvious oversight with all nominated shows.
My favourite moment was the emotive speech of Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki to accept their Awards.. Oh wait may I missed that part because I can’t remember… OH wait YOU DIDN’T INVITED THEM EVEN WHEN THEY WON TWO AWARDS… AND YOU DIDN’T EVEN MENTIONED IT…
My fandom. Gets. It. Done.
Get it, PCA?
It’s so much better than you in that regard, because you didn’t get. It. Done. Like we expected.
Imagine our surprise and disappointment.
And then, imagine our rage when we found out there was no invite for the Supernatural regardless of them winning two awards.
I have no more to say to you. You disappointed us. You enraged us.
And now, I only hope you apologize officially or this fandom will never settle their grudge with you.
One apology won’t be so bad, would it?
Forget best dressed! My favorite moment was when Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles went up on stage to accept the award they’ve worked 7 years for. They told us how much we mean to them and how they know they mean a lot to us, as well. They thanked us for spending countless hours voting for the show. They told us they have so much more in store for us, and they can’t wait for their us to see it. They even told us we aren’t fans to them, but more like family. It was the most beautiful speech ever to exist…too bad it didn’t happen. Thanks for robbing us of that, PCAs!
Do you really think you can make things better by including Supernatural in a poll question? Waaaay too little waaaaay too late. Apologize to the cast and crew, they deserve at least that much from you. You’ve messed with the wrong fandom so might as well just do it. You made this mess now be an adult, do the right thing and fix it.
This is how you officially describe yourself: “The annual People’s Choice Awards live telecast gives fans a chance to honor their favorite entertainers…The People’s Choice Awards celebrates fan favorites in music, movies and television and is the only major awards show where real people – not industry insiders – determine the nominees and winners, setting it apart from other awards shows.”
REAL PEOPLE-NOT INDUSTRY INSIDERS-DETERMINE THE NOMINEES AND WINNERS.
Huh. Well I’d say it’s about time to review your own company statements, and edit them for accuracy. Because from what I can see, you only decide to share votes in which you yourselves approve the winners. You being industry insiders– not the fans who have spent endless hours voting, and believing that their votes would count.
So I say, you should either issue a public apology or start editing your PR materials.
PS: Last night was the first time that I have ever actually tuned into your show–and thanks to your extremely offensive mistake it was most likely the last time, too.
who cares about who dressed the best??? There are more important things that happened last night in which were unrespectful and unprofessional! Supernatural deserves to, first of all, be invited to the ceremony!! Second of all, receive their awards on air! Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki deserve so much more than they were given! They worked so hard in the last 7 years! They are truely excellent actors that should be given the same amount of respect and time as any other actor that was there!!!
Clearly, from all these comments, WE ARE RIGHT!!! Jensen, Jared, the crew from Supernatural, plus the 2 million fans deserve an apology of some sort! It is just plain rude and ridiculous!!!
My Favorite part was this presentation speech,
“We are excited to announce that instead of putting Favorite Film and Favorite Network Drama in tonight’s broadcast, we are including a super long commercial for CVS pharmacies. We do this because you, the peons, really messed up in our humble opinion, and what you should’ve voted in was this wonderful sponsor of ours.”
In other words: Shame on you for taking important awards and deciding not to broadcast them. People understand cutting ‘lesser’ awards for time, but it’s just insulting when you don’t broadcast the important awards.
For example, last year I believe that the Sci-Fi category wasn’t shown. People may have been disappointed, but they weren’t as angry with you because that wasn’t a major category.
You are the ones who chose to set-up the polling as you did, and I wonder if Harry Potter and Supernatural were just a little bit more ‘hip’ if you wouldn’t have aired them live like the similarly voted in Nina Dobrev.
Do you really think that she is the choice of America at large? No. Given demographics and viewership she isn’t. But she had dedicated fans who got her nominated and voted in, and she deserved her major award the same as Supernatural deserved an on air presentation for Best Network Drama.
I see that Entertainment Weekly is saying your viewership dropped this year. Perhaps because you cut out important awards and replaced it with horrible presentations that you’re now pretending are great?
Get some good talent next year, cut out the extended commercials and replace them with good ones, and show all of your major award winners.
Well my favorite part was when everyone applauded for Supernatural, only wait OH YEAH THAT DIDN’T ******* HAPPEN?!?!? People’s Choice awards? Siriusly? Are you kidding me, Supernatural should have been on the show, but you decide that just because you don’t like who won, you wan’t put them on air! Live my ass! This was my first time voting and watching the PCA’s and i can say i won’t be doing it again. The only reason i did was for Harry Potter and Supernatural, and now you have pissed off the entire Supernatural Fandom! You should be afraid, be very afraid!
I enjoyed some moments of the PCAs, but as many of the above I was dissapointed on how you treated Supernatural. They won the two categories they were nominated and the way it was treated was just unfair. I mean if a show is nominated the least you can do in my opinion is invite some of the cast and crew to attend the event, no matter what show it is, the fact of being nominated should be enough. Not inviting them and showing only a short video during the red carpet, not even in the gala, was as many people said, disrespectful. Sad. very sad.
I was really, really disappointed that Supernatural barely got a mention during the show. I watched the whole two hours just waiting for the show I spent weeks voting for incessantly to be given the recognition it deserved, only to be sorely disappointed. And then I find out that Supernatural wasn’t even invited to the award ceremony? I don’t know what could have possibly been going through the directors’ minds when they made that decision, but frankly it was deplorable. Even though this award show was supposed to be all about what the people chose, we were told our choice wasn’t good enough.
But I guess it doesn’t matter to CBS, because they tricked a lot of fans into watching what probably amounted to an hour’s worth of advertising.
And really, who cares about a silly little genre show when money’s on the line?
All I wanted to see was Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, or any single other outstanding member of their cast or creative team, dressed to the nines and on that red carpet. They would’ve made it looked good. And worth the 30 seconds of time that could have been given to present them with their well deserved award in Best Drama. We knew you were going to shaft the best sci fi show, but to shaft them even when they win outside the genre category was insulting and a huge disappointment.
You’re fussing over best dressed? Wow. That says it all. How very shallow. Why doesn’t it surprise me at all after the poor quality of your ‘show’? Why does your exclusion of major award winners such as Supernatural and Harry Potter at the cost of excessive advertising with a bias toward gossip-glamor and your own shows suddenly make sense. You demonstrated a shocking lack of integrity and professionalism. You called it People’s Choice, you used it as a marketing tool, encouraged people to share the vote link and then, in one evening you made a mockery of your own concept and disrespected everyone who participated. Shame on you.
I guess People’s Choice really means the people’s choice as long as it’s something that PCA approves of, otherwise tough luck. I understand not televising Supernatural’s win in the SciFi category. But, why not for the drama category? Not even a mention on the show proper? That’s pretty important. All of the Supernatural fans have a right to feel slighted by this. We worked hard to win these awards for our show and then Jared and Jensen weren’t even shown proper respect. I’m sorry, it’s just a kick in the face, it really is.
The devotion that you’re seeing from all these Supernatural fans isn’t just one way, Jared and Jensen give their all to the show and the characters they’ve been portraying for 7 years, with little to no recognition. They deserved that win, and they deserved to be on that stage just like all the other winners of major categories. I really hope you’ll at least personally apologize to Jared and Jensen, and won’t make the same mistake of not inviting them when they win next year.
ISSUE AN OFFICIAL APOLOGY.
Forget not even airing the segment, no one deserves to be basically slapped across the face for not being invited to an award show where they win two major awards.
The joke’s on me. You know… I knew better. I tend not to put much stock in popularity contests. I don’t know what got into me this year. Twitter, I guess (LOL). I paid attention to the PCAs this year. I voted… for Supernatural… and a few other nominees I cared about. Trust me when I say it’s a mistake I will never make again. As an awards show… wait… what are you again? Your name sounded vaguely familiar to me at first but… no. I’m pretty sure you are a figment of my imagination. A nightmare. But fortunately for me, I’m not the type that suffers from recurring nightmares. So see ya again next… time I suffer a traumatic insult to my person that causes complete amnesia.
But let me at least thank you for reaffirming how lame popularity contests actually are. This booster shot you’ve administered ought to give me immunity for another couple decades.
PS – And don’t you dare add injury to insult by using my email address to spam me. Don’t you dare!
Frankly, I am appalled at the fact that not a single representative of the Supernatural cast and crew was invited to the ceremony. The fact that the show has managed to run for seven seasons so far should tell you something about the dedication of both the Supernatural team and its fanbase. They deserve to have their moment in the spotlight, not have their awards shipped to them. I hope the fact that Supernatural not only pulled off a clean sweep at the awards but also beat out shows such The Vampire Diaries, which were invited, will finally wake up the producers of the PCAs to the fact that this is a show people *want* to see at the ceremony.
How disappointing, I wasted 2 hrs watching your lame and boring award show in the hopes of seeing Jared and Jensen receive some recognition. We the fans came through for them. We made our choice be known, and you just chose to ignore us. Supernatural is an amazing show, with an awesome cast and crew. It deserves recognition. WE THE FANS OF SUPERNATURAL WILL NOT BE IGNORED!!!
Supernatural deserved recognition!!!!
I have a feeling that if a CBS drama had won the Best Network Drama award, it would have gotten the attention it deserved. I will never watch this awards show again. It has become a complete joke with all the ad placements and bad sketches and complete disregard to a major award just because you didn’t like the genre of the show that was chosen. I would say I’m only one person and it probably won’t matter, but it seems to me that there a ‘few’ more people here that feel the same way.
Any of the aired best moments was completely blackened when I heard that the Supernatural cast had NOT been invited and had their TWO awards mailed to them. I am disgusted that a show so loved that it has made it to 7 seasons (and most shown on FRIDAY NIGHTS) did not receive equal or hell, partial, treatment to the other shows that won.
Favourite moment? Supernatural was hardly mentioned in the award show I only found out via the internet. for the past 2 years the only reason I actually watched this thing was to see this cast and crew I highly doubt I’ll watch it again next year if this is how you treat the opinion of the people.
Supernatural deserved to win, and they did. Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki deserved to go up on stage and accept their awards, but they didn’t get to do that. We deserved to get to see them up on stage, but we didn’t get that. Hell, they won BEST NETWORK DRAMA. So…when exactly did the People’s Choice Awards become separated from people?
The best part was when Supernatural was recognized and everyone cheered because Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles are amazing people and deserved it…wait. Forgot that that never happened. Whoops.
On the plus side, Vanessa Hudgens looked gorgeous.
please stop acting like this will fix things. nothing will change in the supernatural fandom or how it interacts with you until you have AT LEAST issued a formal, sincere apology to the people whose deserved honor you completely disrespected and tore apart last night. your way of handling this should not be to ignore the issue, but to face it head on and admit that you really, really messed up, and the only way you can ever even halfway redeem your image in the eyes of THOUSANDS of viewers is by DOING something that deserves our forgiveness.
jensen and jared, and most especially the entire crew of people working behind the camera of this beautiful talented and one-in-a-million show, deserve your utmost respect and undivided attention.
omg literally a whole page full of comments on the ABSOLOUTE OUTRAGE AND CHEEK OF PCA NOT TO PROPERLY ACKNOWLEDGE SUPERNATURAL THE WAY IT DESERVES!!! btw i love you supernatural fandom, keep going!
xxx
When Supernatural finally gets a chance to be rewarded for it’s hard work and for battling through it’s struggles, it gets kicked to the curb by some half assed Award Ceremony that clearly cares only about teen twits and their vampire boyfriends. This show has been unfairly treated ever since it first aired and yet, we manage to make it 7 seasons. You took away our chance to thank the show. Jared and Jensen were dissapointed they were not invited, they were dissapointed they didn’t get to recieve their awards and give thanks to their fans and show everyone just how strong it’s fandom is. I am well and truly disgusted with how you have handled this situation. Two awards, one of which is almost ALWAYS aired. You couldn’t be bothered, could you?
Talking about international fans… I’m from Brazil and the PCA’s was broadcasted live by the local Warner Channel. They didn’t broadcast the red carpet though. I only watched the PCA’s to see Supernatural get their awards and, yeah, I didn’t get to see it.
Sometime I wonder why you guys didn’t invite anybody from SPN (I’m not talking about the Js. Inviting Sera Gamble or any of the producer would’ve been okay.) Were you guys hoping for some attention from the SPN fandom; both in US and international fan? Seriously? & BTW, if u don’t believe that SPN have international fan, I’m from South East Asia dumbass.
My mind is blown at the treatment that the Supernatural team has received. To not invite the WINNERS of TWO categories, including one as prominent as Favourite Drama, and then not even mention them and at least give them some acknowledgement during the actual awards ceremony is ridiculous. Obviously it’s not about the “people’s choice” it’s about the “important people’s choice”.
oh .. yes! this about supernatural again. i mean what WERE YOU THINKING ? really?! wow! these guys work hard and they really hard they deserved to be there, i mean seriously?
not even air thier msg,
The fact that Supernatural won two awards was really a testament to the fanbase and the following that they have. It was insulting not only to the all the people that work really hard on that show, but to the fans as well not to have given them the attention that they deserved.
What a shame PCA, I think it would be safe to say we are all very disappointed.
And that some of the scarier fans might be out for blood on this one.
I’m very proud to be a part of the Supernatural family tonight. Everything that needed to be said is on this page. I hope you learned a lesson from this major cluster ef. Supernatural is one of the most unique Sci-fi shows I’ve ever seen. Aside from the bad-assery, special effects and comic relief, the core of this show is all heart. The story of the Winchester Brothers and their ongoing struggles pulls at my heartstrings every week. The talant of the two leads (Jared & Jensen) is nothing more than top notch. It was one of the things that first pulled me into the show to begin with! The Drama is deep and DEFINATELY deserved these awards. Shame on you for not crediting one of the hardest working, devoted cast and crew in the business.LONG LIVE SUPERNATURAL! I hope all this attention pulls in even more viewers, in turn bringing even MORE votes to Multiple catagories next year! HUZZAH!!!
throwing by 2 cents in. PCA suck!!!! i realized when i didn’t see any of the supernatural guys in the front rows that they weren’t there-at the time i didn’t know that PCA were “dicks” as dean would say-and didn’t invite them to the show. WOW -just WOW. glad i didn’t waste my time-i watched up until lavato or whatever her name was sang-which was a total fail. great show guys-NOT. supernatural rules!!!
ROCK ON @Number1SPNFan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I Love Walgreen’s because they weren’t featured on Peoples Choice Awards like CVS was I thought I was supposed to be watching an award show not some stupid ass advertising, skit show!!!!!!!! Next year I WILL NOT BE WATCHING!!!!!!!!! I’d rather stare at the wall!!!!! WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS MY FEELINGS FOR HOW STUPID I FELT WATCHING THAT SHOW…EVEN IF YOU CAN CALL IT A SHOW!!!!!!!!!!
When it was announced that Supernatural had been nominated for Best Sci Fi and Best Network Drama awards, I eagerly passed the word. I encouraged people to vote and voted myself. The only reason I did this was because I thought it would be a great way to get some much needed publicity for this show. So I spent my time and effort, assuring that your website received many hits. In return for my efforts and that of countless others, you disrespected a phenomenal cast and crew and told me that my choice didn’t matter. It was the most unprofessional, disrespectful, and blatantly wrong snub I have ever seen and a major slap in the face to people who actually promoted you.
Instead of watching the actors I voted for and who won Best Network Drama receive the award, I had to listen online to a recorded thank you with bad sound aired on a channel I have never heard of much less get. This is reprehensible. I spent 2 hours of my life watching the worst edited and written awards show ever conceived. The skits were plain awful and not funny at all. The entire show was one huge advertisement. This was my first People’s Choice Award and you better believe it will be my last. It is also the last time I ever give you free publicity or my hard-earned time. You owe everyone related to the production of Supernatural (and all other major winners you shafted) a huge apology. If you do not have enough time to air every award, then you need to cut down the number of awards you give. As for me, you owe me 2 hours of my life plus the countless free publicity you received from me. I’m sending you the bill. And I don’t come cheap.
Thoughts? I know people were thrilled by Supernatural, Harry Potter and Katy Perry winning big…
Really PCA? Really? The way you mention this on your blog adds even more insult to injury. Maybe us Supernatural fans would have been more thrilled if you invited Jensen and Jared and the crew of Spn to your award show and gave them the recognition they deserve! But no, you just decided not to mention the Best Network TV Drama!!!! award, which is one of the most important ones, and best Sci Fi just because you didn’t like the winners.
You call this People’s Choice? This show is a load of bull!
Our cast and crew have been working so hard for 7 seasons already and they hardly ever get recognition for it and now that we, their fans, would have loved for them to get the attention they deserve, you just ruin it by completely snuffing their winnings.
I am so very disappointed in the PCA and I’ll never watch your show again! You should really apologize to us fans and definitely to J2, the cast and the crew!
@Cherilyn – The Supernatural cast and crew were snubbed. They were not invited to the broadcast. It wasn’t because of prior commitments. It wasn’t because they were filming. They were simply not invited. And that is why the Supernatural Fandom is outraged. I disagree with your friend, Jack. CBS and PCA both owe an apology not only to the talented people who work incredibly hard to bring us the Favourite Network TV Drama every week but they also owe an apology to the fans -the people who voted. It is the PEOPLE’S Choice Awards. Supernatural weren’t the only ones snubbed last night, the fans were too. CBS and PCA basically told us that our choice wasn’t worthy of being on their broadcast. And for that, they need to apologize.
You really blew it PCA. Seriously, you couldn’t find time to put fav Drama and Fav Sci/Fi on the program; but you could spend countless time on lame routines (how you seat the actors, CVS Pharmacy, etc.) You didn’t even bother to invite SUPERNATURAL to the program. Would you have done that if the Drama award had gone to a CBS program? You really screwed up. SUPERNATURAL FANDOM WILL NOT LET YOU FORGET THIS; and considering we got our guys TWO AWARDS, you might want to think about the damage you’ve done. You totally sucked.
@Cherily- PCA and CBS didnt invite anyone(cast or crew) from supernatural at all. the PCA pretty much shoved the award at SPN and peaced out. thats what we the fans of that show are upset about.
I was not able to watch the awards last night, and was planning on watching it later… but finding out that a most basic award like Favorite TV Drama wasn’t even shown is just really bad taste. I’m glad I missed the show.
I didn’t watch but geez y’all are so negative!!!!!…some of y’all need to clean up your language..maybe Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles had a prior commitment and couldn’t attend..ever thought about that???..I was glad Katy Perry and Lea Michele won ……my friend Jack said that Adam Sandler’s joke about teachers was funny..he (Jack) was cracking up..not all teachers are good he said a lot hurt kids…Jack also said that CBS and PCA owes no one an apology
The PCA’s sucked ass! Why did you snub Supernatural? They won 2 awards and you didn’t even invite them!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What the hell!!!?????? It was disrespectful, rude, disgusting and unprofessional. I wasted two hours of my life watching that crappy awards show. What happened to “people’s choice?” Supernatural is just as important, more important actually, than those other shows, so why didn’t ANYONE get invited to represent to show and accept the awards on stage on tv!?!?!?!? WE WANT ANSWERS!!!!! We voted for our favorites so that we could SEE our favorites win. And the time you did give them, on the online pre show, was barely 30 seconds. What the hell???? Seriously, I am appalled. I thought it was an “award show”, not a “bunch of lame, dumbass skits show.” No invite, huh? Why? I am so not watching the PCA’s next year. Why on earth do you feel that Supernatural is unworthy!?!?!?! You suck! If you had invited the right people maybe you wouldn’t need seat fillers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How rude! You have pissed off the Supernatural Fandom. I can’t even say how angry and disgusted I am! SHAME ON YOU PCA!!!!!!!!!!!
Dear PCA when will you realize that you need to apologize for probably one of the rudest things I’ve heard of. Not inviting the winners of best tv drama and scifi/fantasy show to the awards. Honestly you have lost all respect and viewers. Just apologize to the cast and crew and give them their recognition they deserve…hope this little incident was worth losing viewers and having them all blaming you.
Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki and the crew of Supernatural as well as the fans deserve an apology! They worked so hard for 7 years and didnt get the recognition they deserve! For that, you should be ashamed!!!
Joining the chorus of fans who are frustrated and disappointed that several major awards (including Favorite Movie Actor, Favorite Film, and Favorite Network TV Drama) were not presented live… yet we got a 10 minute CVS commercial. I can’t express how disappointed I was to find that I’d watched the entire broadcast and then had to go find a 30 second taped clip of Jensen and Jared accepting their awards online. Poor decision-making, there.
I voted for The Vampire Diaries, so I can read the comments, including the one in a foreign language (something something something SUPERNATURAL something), with a small amount of amusement, but I believe you deserve everything have coming to you. PCA showed exceptionally poor judgement and lack of class last night.
Guess which awards show I won’t bother paying attention to next year. Even when my choices win, they still lose. You’ve completely delegitimized yourselves by failing to show the winners that you didn’t like.
I just love this thread and I love my fellow SPNsters.
How rude and dumb was it to not invite the Jared and Jensen? They won not 1 but 2 awards!!!! This is the PEOPLE CHOICE AWARDS! We the PEOPLE, vote for our CHOICES, then they win their AWARDS. But where were Jared and Jensen? Dear People Choice Awards, did you know that you pissed off the most loyal and devoted group of people on the planet? We are not very happy with you. Have fun with all the hate mail.
Perhaps you don’t realize that the ‘fans’ or viewers who vote for the PCAs are also the consumers who buy your sponsor’s products. It’s a competitive world out there and consumers have more entertainment choices than ever before. You might want to take that into consideration the next time you decide to snub our pick for Best Network TV Drama.
Supernatural should have been there to accept their 2 awards!!!! I cant even believe they were not invited!!! Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki AND the crew really deserved to receive their awards on stage!!! They worked hard for 7 years!!! They deserved the recgnition!!! im dissapointed in this years show!!!
Also, i dont care if there are only 2 hours to air this show! the people (SUPERNTURAL FANDOM) who spent hours and hours voting for their shows expect to see their show win their awards!!! this was just insulting and unbelieveable!!! YOU MESSED WITH THE WRONG FANDOM!!!!
Just issue the apology for not inviting the cast of Supernatural. You know you were wrong.
I am terribly upset that Supernatural was snubbed at your awards last night. I’m not normally a “writing in to complain” type of fan, but this feels like you were telling all the viewers who voted for the show that they made the wrong choice.
(or at least the choice that would not bring in advertising dollars)
There is a reason Supernatural has such an avid fan base. It is truly an excellent show. I think you owe the Supernatural cast and crew, and the PCA voters, an official apology.
I’m utterly astonished at how disrespectful the PCA were to so many of the winners this year. You mentioned in this blog the big wins for Supernatural and Harry Potter, but despite winning two for the biggest awards of the evening (Favorite Network TV Drama and Favorite Movie) neither award was even mentioned during the show. You off handily mention them winning Favorite Sci/Fi and Favorite Book Adaptation, two of the lesser awards but don’t even bother to even acknowledge their big achievements.
The fact you didn’t even invite anyone from Supernatural is another slap in the face. Favorite Network TV Drama is always one of the final awards because it is considered one of the biggest of the evenings and you don’t even bother to invite the winners nor announce their win publicly. It’s pretty obvious you guys won’t even bother to acknowledge your mistake which only makes you appear worse than you already are – if that is even possible after your blatant disrespect of countless cast and crew members of the shows and movies you are suppose to be awarding.
You should truly be ashamed of yourselves.
“What did everyone think?” I suspect that you’ve got an answer to that by now. 150 responses and counting… But I checked your main page and for some unbelievable reason I’m not seeing an apology for your overt insult to the cast, crew, and fans of the winner of the Best Network TV Drama. Especially to the fans – the people – that you are supposed to be representing in this award show. SHAME ON YOU!!!
The PCA had always represented the choice of the everyday viewer of TV and movies – not the critics’, or magazine cover favorites’, or even network or movie big-wigs’ favorites. But THEIR FAVORITES. That is, after all, the whole purpose of the voting and the broadcast. What the PCA presented last evening was a travesty – a poorly written, poorly conceived and executed award show. The skits were deplorable, and the singing a poor representation of the industry and artists. But most importantly, to deliberately exclude the presentation of the award for one of the two MAJOR CATEGORIES IN TV is an insult of major proportions to the WINNERS and the PEOPLE whose votes you claim to value. Again, SHAME ON YOU.
Congratulations to everyone connected with SUPERNATURAL for your win, and if you don’t get an official apology from the PCA, then please accept one from me on behalf of your fans everywhere. I’m sure you are used to not getting any respect by now, but that does not excuse this unprecedented slight by an award broadcast that claims to represent the choice of the people.
PEOPLES CHOICE AWARDS – I’M AWAITING YOUR APOLOGY TO SUPERNATURAL ON THE MAIN PAGE!
Just putting in my two cents worth. I was flabbergasted that Supernatural was ignored. The little show that could – won not one but two awards and PCA didn’t even bother to acknowledge that. We chose Supernatural – the people chose it. Was the snube because of the genre or simply political? It doesn’t matter. It was wrong. Then to fill up with ridiculous skits and sponsors? I wasn’t watch to see silly skits and guess what? A sponsor allows the show to run without intruding on the viewer. Professional marketing understands that subtle and discreet is far better than beating potential customers over the head with an anvil. I doubt I will ever go to CVS again. I watched because I truly was thought that People’s Choice was about the choice of the people. Obviously, I was mistaken.
Rude. Offensive and unprofessional. The cast and crew of Supernatural deserved better.
Wow CBS and PCA nice going on pissing the 2 million fans of Supernatural. I bet y’all never thought that 1 stupid gesture on your part would create such an uproar huh!! Oh and when you decided to apologize to the hard working cast and crew of Supernatual (and you will end up apologizing believe me) I just want your company to know that although you see your error, we the fans will always remember the blatant disregard of your so called “Peopled Choice Awards”. Nice Going
Best dressed was…uh gotcha there, for a second you thought I would respond to your question, right? But you were wrong, like we “few” Supernatural-Fans were wrong.
You made us believe that you were really representing the People/Fan’s Choices and that, we could help underrated shows or actors or actresses to get the attention they deserve…
We voted a zillion times, voted day and night week after week, to get them up on that PCAs-stage if only for 2mins.
But it looks like you decided that we, “the People” were wrong, that we voted for the wrong show and therefor you decided not to even mention the results at the big event.
Maybe next year rename it to “The people behind PCAs Choice Awards” short PBPCAsCA..
I’m speechless, how the hell could you leave out Best TV Drama – one of the main awards! What a snub to two wonderful actors and to a wonderful show that against all the odds is in it’s seventh season. What a snub to it’s fans who are the most loyal and devoted fans of any tv show! Supernatural wasn’t even mentioned in the live show even though they won TWO AWARDS!! SHAME ON YOU PCA!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m glad I’m from the UK because you can bet your life this would never happen in the UK!
I would like to say that my favourite moment was when members of the Supernatural cast/crew were invited onstage to collect either of their awards. Unfortunately that couldn’t happen as they didn’t even merit an invite, despite winning not one, but two categories, including Best Network Drama. You can hardly call yourself the People’s Choice Award and then decide that you don’t like that choice therefore you’re not going to broadcast it. I’m deeply disappointed in this decision: it wasn’t fair to the cast and crew of Supernatural, who work their asses off for very little official recognition, and it wasn’t fair to the fans who spent hours voting so that their show could have it’s moment in the limelight.
You know, I voted in every category, not only in tv network drama. But I voted for TV Network Drama and I hoped my choice would win. I was pretty amazed that it was nominated. It won. Unfortunatly CBS failed. Well. Wrong fanbase to mess with. Deal with it.
Oh yes, this is, once again, about Supernatural. Shame on you. You suck.
I thought that the biggest upset for me was the whole Vampire Diaries issue. What the crap happened?? They should of beat Supernatural… (Just my opinion so don’t be hating on me) Congratulations to Nina and all but I think Ian should of won something… #Wechooseian
We worked hard to get our little respected show the recognition and respect we know it deserves and you continue to disrespect us and them! People Choice… ha! We chose and you still disrespected us and them!
Or wait…there was that moment When Jared Padalecki and Jensen got to except their awards and all the supernatural fans were happy the actors finally got recognized as the talent they deserve…oh wait you fucked that up! You didn’t invite any of the cast! You didn’t even do more than a passing fucking glance at the awards given to them. Shame on you. Lame awards show, stupid idiots running it and the only thing we ask for is our boys get shown the proper way…and you prove you can’t do even that. Shoddy. Just shoddy showmanship.
It was a bitter disappointment to the fans and a major slap in the face to Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki and the cast and crew of Supernatural for the blatant disregard the PCA and CBS hierarchy displayed by not inviting them to attend. The voters displayed their tenacity and the show won in both categories – Best TV Drama and Best SciFi/Fantasy. And to now even show the clip of Jensen and Jared accepting was even more insulting. Obviously the powers that be did not learn anything about the power of the SPN fandom, when the fans voted the boys on the cover of TVGuide.
Congratulations to Jared, Jensen and all the other hard working members of the Supernatural cast!! I am glad to see they finally got the recognition they deserve, even if the network saw fit to ignore them.
Everything I say now won’t even begin to cover it! Just look at the previous comments and tell me wouldn’t it be easier to just spare two seats for two amazing actors?!
Shame on you, for letting all of us believe that you were different. Supernatural is a great show and just because it is not aired on some major television doesn’t mean that you can mock with it and disrespect all of it’s fans out there.
Shame on you for claiming to be different!
“All in all, I’d have to say a great evening.” it says on this page.
Yeah? for whom? Surely not for the winners since the most important Jared&Jensen (Best TV Drama & Best TV Scifi) weren’t even invited. And surely not for the fans who thought if they vote on “THE PEOPLE’S CHOICE” Awards they get to see their choice being given an award.
But to never even mention them? This clearly shows that the “People’s choice Award” has nothing to do about what the people want but about advertising and promoting own shows.
Supernatural won TWO major categories. TWO! And when you initiate a race you can’t just pull back the medals just because you don’t like the ones who crossed the finish lines first. Your show was condescending towards the hard working crew of Supernatural (and a few other’s who have been overlooked yesterday). More so it was condescending towards the people who spend a lot of hours voting on your site to only be kicked aside after the voting was over.
So maybe the big question on your site shouldn’t be which looks was your favorite but which action on your show was deemed the worst: not inviting actual winners, not even announcing them or giving one of your top category winners a fly-by mention on the red carpet?
Well, here my “people’s choice” would be all of the three!
I just wanted to say what most people on here said before – it’s utterly disappointing that you didn’t invite two actors that worked their butts off and whose “underdog” show had been nominated and even won! Even if they wouldn’t have won, it’s just so so inpolite. Just because it’s TheCW and not CBS and because it’s “underdog”…i don’t get it. You not only disappointed the fans – the actors might be a bit sad, too, you know? I hope you wont just decide to ignore what so many sad fans had to say….
Until yesterday I thought at the PEOPLE Choice Awards the category “Drama” is one of the most important. Well yesterday I learned a lesson no SUPERNATURAL-fan will ever forget. And the lesson goes: Does it happen that the WRONG Show wins, like “Drama” and “Sci Fi”, they won´t mention that in the show, oh no they won´t even invite the winners!!!
The Show yesterday was only 2 things:
- a fail!
- and a lie to all of the fans who have voted!
It’s nuts that three great actors got dissed like that JENSEN JARED and MISHA at least deserved to be there as the show they have worked so hard on for seven years won two great awards!!
You broadcast all top TV show winners on People’s Choice award show, yet you did NOT even announce the winner for Best Sci-Fi Show or Best Drama, both of which were Supernatural (CW). Had the winner been a CBS show I’m POSITIVE you would have broadcast the results and the awarding of the statue. It seems that the award was presented to the People’s Choice but the broadcasting of it was the networks preference. Since OUR choice means nothing to you, YOUR choice in entertainment means NOTHING to us. Consider this a boycott of all things CBS. THANKS FOR NOTHING…
“People’s Choice?” What a joke. When the PCA and CBS decides not to televise Supernatural’s win, it was a huge slap in fans’ faces. Well, guess what, CBS? “The Good Wife” didn’t win. Them’s the breaks. You should have been professionals about it and not abused your authority to punish the winner and the fans like that. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
I just came here to tell Liz Warner & the PCA lords that if you think you did a good job and the show was a success, you’re seriously kidding yourselves! Last year was a disaster, despite Queen Latifah’s best efforts, and this year you effed up again, even though it wasn’t Kaley Cuoco’s fault! You failed us once more, PCA!!! So, get it together or you’ll cease to exist! You have angered the People and we won’t stand for it!
I’m just disgusted.
Best moment? When you announced the best TV-Drama and the Supernatural team went on stage to receive their deserved award….wait that didn’t happen because you didn’t invite the winners.
I hope next year when we win for the second consecutive year, you have the decency to invite the stars of the show Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki.
wow how lame was it that you did not invite the Supernatural cast and crew to the award ceremony, let alone not even show their catergory during the show and that they won the awards.. i understand that you guys showed it during the red carpet thing but you should of at least gave the acknowledgement during the show.. so i am sorry but it was wrong of you guys.
Everything I wanted to say about my disappointment of Supernatural being snubbed during the awards ceremony has pretty much already been said. I hope by the time you get to this comment, you’ll have realized what a slap in the face it was to everyone who voted for the show, and believed that the Best Network TV Drama Award would be given to the Supernatural cast and crew ON STAGE like it has been given to other shows every year before. Shame on you, CBS, for making something that could have been awesome and appreciated by some hopeful fans and instead turned it into another crushing disappointment.
So the Supernatural fans are “thrilled” you say? So you’re going to completely ignore the thousands of angry complaints the same way you completely ignored the fact Supernatural won Favorite Network Drama?
I think you’re fast losing the right to call yourselves the “People’s Choice” awards.
I have to say that I was thoroughly disappointed in a broadcast that was all about the fans. The People were the ones who voted, the people chose who they wanted to win, and this organization took that and completely dismissed it. Supernatural won not one but two awards and was completely ignored by the People’s Choice Awards. Instead of listening to Demi Levato shout her song or having to endure Faith Hill’s horribly off key performance, why not present the awards that we, the people, voted for. Kaley did a good job with the hosting, but at the same time, a skit with Jimmy Fallon (who I love) talking to a tree, robot and deer about the future of television? Lame. Boring. And I love Parks and Recreation and actually loved that little skit but if it was a choice between seeing the awards I voted for being presented or watching that skit… my choice is for the awards. This is an awards show. If you want to show those bits, great, do it on a variety show. We voted, we chose Supernatural as our Best Network Tv Drama. Don’t we deserve to see them accept the award?
You dun goofed. You must be idiots if you kicked dirt on two actors like that.
The best moment? It never came, since the Best Drama winners were not invited to the awards show.
The best part? Never happened. Supernatural was not only denied their well earned moment in the spotlight, but their video acceptance was pushed to the pre-show, which many didn’t watch.
Being a fan of many “underdog” shows, I’ve sadly come to expect them to be shunned by the bigger award shows, and even only given a small nod of recognition on ones like these. But Supernatural not only won Best Sci-fi/Fantasy, they nailed Best Drama! To me it is a complete disgrace that the PCA failed to invite the show!
Many people say they only won because of the crazy Supernatural fandom voting like mad. Which, is somewhat true. It does NOT however mean that the show didn’t earn it!
The cast & crew of Supernatural have continually delivered outstanding entertainment for 7 seasons now, and it’s because of their talent, dedication, and love for the show, that our fandom in turn is so very passionate about Supernatural.
They earned this win and they deserve far more recognition than they receive. For them to be denied the opportunity to accept in person was shameful.
My favorite moment in this egotistical popularity contest was….wait …it didn’t happen cause Jensen and Jared from Supernatural weren’t there. Quite interesting that the underdog from the CW network wasn’t even there to accept their award…and their award wasn’t announced on the actual award show. So thank you Peoples Choice Awards, you’ve successfully pissed off a group of people that follow a show with actual substance and a good plot. Thank you PCA, you have lost all respect from the Supernatural followers.
Your rudeness towards a two-award winning show Supernatural, it’s cast and crew, was an eye opener for how little you care about the people’s choice. to show was the biggest insult television has broadcast in a long time. How can you possibly justify not even to INVITE the cast of the WINNER of best TV Drama AND SciFi show? You had plenty of seats for cast of shows not winning anything. SHAME ON YOU
My favorite look isnt one of the options.
It was Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles dressed in there Sam and Dean outfits. But you guys wouldnt know about those looks because they werent invited. They were only shown on the online preshow in a 30sec video you guys kinda cut short.
I think the Supernatural fans have made it obvious how we feel. The snub from last night’s broadcast was ridiculous! Many of us were tuning in just to see Jared Padalecki & Jensen Ackles accept their WELL-DESERVED award for Best TV Drams. How do you not broadcast their acceptance speech? Or even acknowledge on air one of the major categories?! It’s disgraceful & I’m sure it wouldn’t have happened if a bigger name show had won. I think the fans deserved to see what our constant voting accomplished. We worked hard at it because we love our show. It was voted the Best TV Drama for a reason. It’s not because the actors are extremely good-looking as some might think. It’s because of the talent, the incredible writing. We are invested in the Winchesters’ lives, for 7 years now. And FINALLY we got the recognition we deserve but NO! Shameful. I think The PCA owes the show & its devoted supporters a public apology.
My favorite moment? Seeing Jared and Jensen accepting their Best Network Drama award…..oh wait THAT DIDNT HAPPEN BECAUSE YOU DIDNT INVITE THEM
what show?
Unless the PCA’s can offer an explanation and apology for their outright insulting behavior toward a show that the People fought to recognize, they can rest assured that next year, we won’t bother to contribute to your broadcast ratings at all.
Sincerely,
The Supernatural Fandom
this disrespect of the show Supernatural is one of the lowest things i’ve ever seen, on television… with their two winning catagories, they were not even invited to accept their awards!!!!! this is so low that myself and many many other fans of the show, are discusted with the show.. this was not the pca that the people wanted to see. we wanted see Supernatural receive their awards, again… we r ashamed of you the pca and your lack of respect… we want a official responce to try to respond to this mess, and get it corrected!!!!!! a true Supernatural fan!!!!!
Do I even need to voice my distaste over what you did during last nights broadcast PCA? Because I my fellow Supernatural fans seem to be doing a fantastic job in letting you know how disappointed and upset we all are over such a ridiculous and stupid move. Your too busy worrying about something as stupid as who the best dressed celebrity was, well how about this, WHO CARES? I DON’T!!! I,like everyone else wants to know what the no good reason was for not inviting Jensen, Jared and everyone else who works tirelessly for such an outstanding show that deserves so much and you have the nerve to cheapen out on loads of people who were excited and probably expecting the Boys to make some sort of appearance, but we didn’t even get that did we? Way to disrespect the actors, fans, writers, directors and other important cast and crew members from the show, PCA. I’ll surprise even my self if I even bother to waster my time next year by even watching. Unless of course, you learn to do things differently. Congratulations, PCA on a real bang up job!
Again I say, what bad manners. The deliberate snub is blatantly obvious. What’s more it’s apparent that the outrage is wide spread even among those who didn’t vote for Supernatural. Not even an invitation? I believe you owe Supernatural, its cast, crew and fans an apology. Publicly.
One would think that Best TV Drama Show is one of the most prestigious awards you could win, so how can you possibly justify the blatent way the winners of this award were ignored ?
I understand the winners were not even annpounced during the progtamme. It would appear that the `Peoples` opinions matter very little amidst all the politics of American Network TV. Maybe you should try and salvage your reputation by at least issuing a public apology to the Cast, crew and the fans of the show you shamefully disrespected
I’m stunned and incredibly disappointed that the winners of two PCAs (including Best Network TV Drama) were not included in the awards ceremony. Supernatural fans did exactly what you asked us to do: vote for the ‘people’s choice’. We upheld our end, and you let us down. All you had to do was play that 30 second video of the stars thanking the fans during the show. We would have been ecstatic. But you chose to snub Supernatural completely. How rude and disrespectful.
What I had expected from an awards show whose primary function is to give the People a voice with which to celebrate and honor their Choice for best in music, film, and television, I’m shocked that the winner for Best Network Drama of the year (a show which also won more than one award) was barely acknowledged, not broadcast during the show, and that the winners were not even invited to the the event in the first place. We voted for Supernatural to win the honor, and Supernatural won, but they were denied even a moment to accept the honor(s) the publicly.
Shame on the producers of the People’s Choice Awards, and I hope that they realize this: if they want to continue claiming to provide an avenue for the People to speak, they had better be prepared to answer for their censorship of it afterwards.
My favorite part of the awards? That Supernatural won, not just the award for Scifi but also took the favorite Drama category. It was so awesome to see the cast and crew accept their award…OH wait that didn’t happen. Instead the favorite Scifi award acceptance was aired during to pre-awards ceremony and Favorite drama wasn’t even shown. Really? Bad form people. Favorite drama has always had an honored spot in the program and it feels like because Supernatural is a genre show and the industry is so against giving them any sort of recognition that PCA just fell in line with that thinking. I thought the Peoples Choice Awards were about the PEOPLE choosing, apparently that is a misconception. And to not even INVITE the cast or crew of a show that was nominated and WON two categories that is beyond shady.
“I know people were thrilled by Supernatural, Harry Potter and Katy Perry winning big…”
What does that even mean? Are you adding insult to injury? What are we supposed to make of the rest of that sentence following the elipsis: “…but we didn’t invite them, hehehe!”? Have you no shame?
Just letting you know you pissed off the wrong fandom. The Supernatural fans are very supportive and did a lot of PR for your lousy awards. You have absolutely no excuse for not inviting the cast to the show and not even mentioning the Best Network TV Drama category. We’re still waiting for an explanation and the more you delay it the more you will get showered with such angry remarks.
I was so looking forward to seeing Supernatural win some of the honors it so richly deserves. Best Sci-Fi TV Series, I could maybe understand not broadcasting that, but Best Network TV Drama??? That is a HUGE award and whoever put this show together just pretended it didn’t happen?? I doubt that would’ve been the case if the CBS series, “The Good Wife, had won. It is a shame that TV exec politics or whatever reason Supernatural wasn’t recognized outweighed the recognition for a quality, well-written show.
Oh, and by the way, it’s called PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS for a reason… PEOPLE VOTED. Their voices were heard but apparently ignored. Supernatural may be a “genre show” but it still deserves the same respect as any other TV show that would be considered a drama.
If they say there wasn’t time to recognize this show and its cast and crew, I could’ve done without the lame CVS plug that made me change the channel.
Worst awards show, EVER.
As someone who researchers fandom, including a book on Supernatural and its awesome fans, I should be used to genre shows rarely getting the recognition they deserve. But even I was stunned when PCA decided not to televise the award for Best Network Drama. That’s sort of like the Oscars not broadcasting Best Motion Picture, isn’t it? Supernatural richly deserves its TWO awards, but its incredible cast and crew — and its incredible fans — deserved the recognition and publicity that broadcast coverage should have provided.
sounds like someone pissed off the wrong fanbase.
Did you even read all the comments? Most of them were regarding to the disrectful treatment to Supernatural. Where are your answers to the questions? We want an explanation.
I say: next year we (the Supernatural fandom) nominate SPN for best drama tv show AND for best sci/fi show AND J. Ackles and/or J. Padalecki for best drama actor. WE make them win again and then let´s see if you dare to not invite the cast again. And we could do this for many years. Now it´s your turn to answer! So: ANSWER!
LET´S SHOW THEM ALL WHAT THE WINCHESTER FANS ARE CAPABLE OF.
I just can’t believe you didn’t invite Jensen, Jared and the entire cast and crew of Supernatural. I simply canNOT believe it. The people spoke and you ignored us. I don’t get it. Why? WHY?! Just like all the other shows, this one had the right to be seen AND heard for all the world to notice and you – some asshat at the PCA’s decides otherwise? Are you INSANE?
I just.. I can’t even understand. Don’t even try to explain. This is beyond inexcusable.
Shameful snub to not air the presentation of Best Network Drama. Unthinkable really. If a different show had won (say The Good Wife) CBS would have fallen all over itself with on air congratulations. To add insult to injury the PCA and CBS did not even invite the cast of Supernatural to attend the ceremony and/or to air their lovely acceptance speech during the actual broadcast. This was a major award and should have been recognized. The PCA and CBS owe a big apology to Supernatural and its fans. Doesn’t the C in CW stand for CBS? How is a network so stupid to not act in its own self interest and show some support for an award winning show. I thought it was the PEOPLE’s choice that mattered, but clearly our choice was deemed unworthy. Tonight I am not shopping at CVS, I am going to Walgreens instead.
Let’s face it. The People’s Choice Awards are the lamest awards show. Nobody goes to it unless they are told they are going to win something. The thing is you had a golden opportunity to have a group of people on your stage who would have been genuinely happy and excited to accept this award. They would have given a reaction that would have gave this award a little more credibility which the People’s Choice Award very desperately needs. The guys from Supernatural would have been smiling from ear to ear and instead of the backlash you are receiving now you would have been hit with love and kudos from their fans. Bad move PCA!
you ask for Best Dressed? … well they must be Jensen and Jared dressed as Dean and Sam Winchester thanking fans for our support all the way from Vancouver!
shame on you guys… you didn’t even inveted them… haha well now you’re screwed because just like we’re capable of making OUR SHOW win two of the awards like the STRONG DEVOTED FANDOM WE ARE …
you know we’re capable of letting EVERYONE AROUND KNOW WHAT YOU DID….. and that won’t let you continiou being “the fans option to let the world hear their choices”
I still can’t believe what I saw last night, yet what I didnt see. I had been waiting for the Peoples Choice for weeks. Could not wait for it to come on. As I watched, I really could not believe what I was seeing. It was not even worth watching. I kept waiting for best movie and and best acter. I kept watching the clock, wondering what the world is going on. Is the time wrong. My favorite actor in the world, Johnny Depp, won 2 awards and it wasnt even on the show. Why did you even bother to waist tv time with that unorganized, stupid show. I think a group of kids could have done a better job of putting together a PCA than the one or who ever did. The so called funny skits were just plain stupid. What is wrong with you people.I think you need to appoligize to all the people who voted and the actors that were left out. Get your —- together before next year, or you want need to advertise because NO ONE will watch.
I hear that Jared Padelalecki and Jensen Ackles were upset that they were not invited to the PCA’s to receive the TWO awards, including Best TV Drama, that the Supernatural won. That saddens me. I know exactly why they are upset, though. Because THEY actually CARE about the people who voted for them and would have LOVED to have given a little respect back to those same people by saying thank you IN PERSON. Trust me, it certainly wasn’t because they wanted to attend some lame-o awards show.
Well, guys. You’re entirely welcome for the hours that I and many, many, MANY other fans spent voting for your show…OUR show. You and every single solitary crew member and actor deserves it. Despite being small, underfunded, under-appreciated and constantly SHOVED ASIDE by bully execs and networks, Supernatural SHINES. It’s an absolute honor to vote for your show. It’s an honor to watch it every week. I’m just sorry that the PCA’s and CBS did not care to acknowledge it. The shame is entirely theirs. And I will remember it in the future when opportunities to purchase their products arise.
There is NO best moment because PCA organizers and show runners behaved like a bunch of spoiled immature high schoolers by snubbing one of its much deserved MAJOR award winners just because the said winner isn’t in with the “IN” and “IT” crowd!
The WORST moment goes to ignoring its FAVORITE NETWORK DRAMA category entirely. What does this say about an award show that doesn’t even give credit and respect to one of its major category?
This however does not take away the awesome double wins by SUPERNATURAL. No thanks to suits and pencil pushers, SUPERNATURAL, the quintessential “little show that could be” won these accolades because it won the hearts of its loyal fans. We the people chose the show to be our favorite, no slight from PCA and any party associated with it will change that.
Oh and you ask for Best Dressed? Why, it’s none other than Jensen and Jared dressed as Dean and Sam Winchester thanking fans for our support all the way from Vancouver!
Snubbbing Supernatural is just not cool seriously. They won 2 awards, not 2 unimportant awards, but 2 awards that get shown every year on the PCA’s. But suddenly they decide this year to not show it? When an amazing show wins and actually deserves it? That’s a whole new low PCA. Shame on you.
From another fan who voted for Supernatural I was quite disappointed to tune in and see no attention put towards them. They won two awards one of which was best network tv drama and yet they were not invited to attend. I think that is quite a bad move on your part and devalues us the “people” who voted for them. An apology should be made.
Who ever produced this mess should be FIRED, waiting to see Supernatural get there deserved awards and then they are not even invited., just kicked to the side. Do you not realize they have nearly 70 million fans and viewers worldwide, not just the 2 million here in the US.
WHAT ABOUT SUPERNATURAL PCA?????!!! we voted OVER AND OVER to see our cast receiving the awardS but it never happened .. because… O RIGHT! BECAUSE THEY WEREN’T EVEN INVITED!!!!! HOW S.O.B YOU ARE GUYS!!! totally awful… THEY WON 2 awards .. and you didn’t even invited them???!!! what a fall guys… not i KNOW THAT
because SUPERNATURAl is no a “vampire” “teenaged” tv show it CAN’T BE important enought to appear in the actual show???
SHAME ON YOU….. SUPERNATURAL DESERVES A HUGE sorry from you guy… you little SOB.
the boys Jared and Jensen had worked TIRELESS to give us 7 years of a great tv show and this is what you do????
let me say it again… SHAME ON YOU …. how could you do it?????
Hmmm…. Kaley was mostly cute & cheerful. Maybe a bit ‘forced’, but OK. I’d say around about a 7 in a rating w/10 being best. The awards were kind of perfunctory in the presentation, attempts at humor were, for the most part, rather pathetic (skits included). From comments I’ve read, apparently some major production mistakes were made concerning who was presented awards on the actual show, etc. The performances were, umm…. forgettable, sorry, ’cause Faith is really a great singer. Betty White was gorgeous & adorable… more of her, the better! Putting Robert Pattinson next to her was a stroke of brilliance by whomever thought of it!
All in all… I didn’t hate the show, although all the on air advertising promotion stuff was very blatant & extremely ‘off-putting’. Maybe try to blend that stuff into the background more & push the winners getting there awards more… that’s what it is… an Awards Show!
This award show has lost all credibility. The best moment you ask? For me it never came, because the PCA did not invite the Supernatural cast and crew even though they won 2 awards! You cannot expect me to believe you didn’t show the Best Network TV Drama just because you didn’t have the time, it’s one of the most important categories! I voted for Supernatural and I was really looking forward to seeing Jared&Jensen get on that stage and get their awards but you, PCA, just decided the people’s choice didn’t matter and that Spn did not deserve even a mention. I’m proud of the whole cast and crew of Supernatural, they so deserved this, but the PCA decided otherwise. Shame on you, your whole show is a joke!!
F*ck you PCA for not inviting Supernatural to the ceremony. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
Your probably sick and tired from reading about how basically evil it was of you to snub Supernatural like that, so theres nothing more that I can say besides that Supernatural is here to stay, its never going to end because we fans? oh yeah very hardcore. So next year, we’re going to be there again and we gonna all we can get our hands on. Just saying invite us or not we still going to kick ass.
WHAT ABOUT SUPERNATURAL PCA?????!!! we voted OVER AND OVER to see our cast receiving the awardS but it never happened .. because… O RIGHT! BECAUSE THEY WEREN’T EVEN INVITED!!!!! HOW S.O.B YOU ARE GUYS!!! totally awful… THEY WON 2 awards .. and you didn’t even invited them???!!! what a fall guys… not i KNOW THAT
because SUPERNATURAl is no a “vampire” “teenaged” tv show it CAN’T BE important enought to appear in the actual show??? is that why you say the power is on the fan??… well NOW Supernatural fans feel really INSULTED
SHAME ON YOU….. SUPERNATURAL DESERVES A HUGE sorry from you guy… you little SOB.
is that what you call a FAIR???? award ???
I´m so disapoointet,I sat up all night to wach PCA online ( it is sent at 4am in danish time)
And the guys from Supernatural was no were to be seen and now i find out its because they ware not even invitet.
How can that happen – they won 2 awards….
I dont uderstand
NO MORE PCA BEFORE JENSEN AND ARED IS ON THE SHOW
I would have had a favourite part if you’d actually aired the BEST DRAMA win. Talk about genre bias.
Could you imagine the Emmy Awards not showing their winner for Best Network Drama? Could you imagine them not even inviting the winners to the show? No you couldn’t.
Ignoring Supernatural like that was just plain rude and condescending to Supernatural and its fans. It’s a great show, with a lot of hard working people, and it very rarely gets the recognition it deserves. If any other show had won this award they would have been invited to the show, and everyone knows it.
I just lost all respect for the People’s Choice Awards, because clearly, unless the people choose the show the producers want them to choose, then the people’s choice are ignored.
So, CBS and People’s Choice Awards, you owe Supernatural, both cast, crew and fans, a very public and humble apology.
Last night’s PCAs were the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. So much time was wasted with unfunny acceptance speeches (Sandler, I’m talking to you) and advertising plugs that not all of the major categories were announced.
But, of course, we know that isn’t the real reason that the cast of Supernatural was not allowed to go onto the stage to accept their Best TV Network Drama award. The real reason is that the PCAs didn’t even invite the cast and crew! It’s not as if Supernatural has a six person cast or anything–there are two main characters! Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki have worked tirelessly for seven years, producing over 100 episodes, doing voice acting for the anime, and attending Supernatural conventions all over the globe! They deserved the chance to walk across the stage and receive the awards that they won, fair and square. I bet that being able to receive an award means a lot more to them than it means to some of those celebrities that have a lot of publicity already.
Fans voted for Supernatural not only because we are intensely devoted and loyal to the show, but because we wanted to spread the word about it, and get it the recognition that the it deserves. We didn’t vote to see it disrespected so massively.
Not inviting Jensen, Jared, and the crew of Supernatural was a grievously unprofessional mistake. I hope that the beating you’ve been given by the fans (1600+ comments on that last facebook update, not to mention all of the wall posts and comments here) have made you see the error of your ways. Anything less than a formal apology made to the cast, crew, and fans would be extremely rude and unprofessional.
SUPERNATURAL DESERVES A HUGE sorry from you guy… you little SOB.
is that what you call a FAIR???? award ???
I am so disappointed in the PCA, so utterly disappointed!! I just can’t believe I stayed up to watch this on livestream at 4am in Belgium, waiting to see Jensen and Jared accept not one but TWO awards (one of them in the important Favorite Network TV Drama category) but all I got were a bunch of other awards and a lot of commercials and not a word was said about Supernatural’s wins on this show
Not only did our boys not get invited to the show, while almost all the other winners however did, the PCA did not even broadcast their thank you video during the show! They just apparently quickly played it during the Red Carpet, which is just so disrespectful. If any other show than Supernatural had won in these categories, they would’ve been able to accept their awards on stage, but apparently not Spn because it’s not mainstream enough or some bullshit reason! I voted for Supernatural because I love the show and because we really are one big family and I’m so proud that we won these 2 awards but the PCA just slapped everyone in the face by not giving our boys the recognition and attention they deserve. Next year PCA (cause we’ll win again, you can be sure of that!
) I expect to see J2 on the stage proudly accepting their awards or I’ll get on a plane and salt and burn all you idjits!
My favorite moment SHOULD have been when Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki accepted their awards, but CBS in all their wisdom neglected to invite them to the party even though they won a MAJOR category!! Unprofessional at best, petulant crybabies who didn’t win at worst.
I wouldn’t know what the best part was because I didn’t watch it. Maybe I would have had you invited the Supernatural cast to accept their awards in person. I mean, best Drama at least is kinda a big deal, right? I guess it would be if it was any other show BUT Supernatural. So very disappointed PCA.
EPIC FAIL PCAs, and you know what I’m talking about. Supernatural fans will not forget this next year and I hope you lose a lot of viewers for future shows.
Last night’s PCAs was nothing but a commercial for CBS. Too bad your show didn’t win Best Drama *sour grapes for you*?
My favorite part was when Supernatural won two awards and my least favorite part was when you guys were insanely disrespectful and didn’t announce them or even invite any of the cast. That’s hardly the people’s choice. And you guys haven’t even had the nerve to apologize about it. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
My favorite part was the 10 minute CVS commercial!!! It wasn’t awkward or forced at all, totally natural.
Oh no, wait, that was my 2nd least favorite moment. You know, right after Supernatural being snubbed. Excellent work guys! Next year just make the entire thing a 2-hour commercial.
People’s Choice Awards mean F*** All if the winners of the Best TV Drama did not get invited to attend?
EXPLAIN. APOLOGISE. F***TARDS.
*Please note I am not normally an hot-headed person and I hate swearing but I can’t convey how pissed off I am that you snubbed Supernatural so grossly.
This year’s show was an EPIC FAIL!!!!! What in the heck is the point of airing an award show if you don’t even show the presentation of ALL the awards?!? Supernatural won Two awards and there was no mention of them At All!!! This is completely Disrespectful and I believe a formal apology should be given to the show, it’s cast, and the fan’s!
The best thing about the PCA’s was Kayley Cuoco hosting the show. She did an amazing job.
Worst thing: I’m a huge Supernatural fan and I voted A LOT so the Jared and Jensen could be at the premiation and receive their deserved awards, and they weren’t even mentioned aside from the red carpet (which I didn’t watch so, if it wasn’t for the internet, I would have never known my favourite show won the two categories it was nominated for)
It was a major disrespect to the cast and crew and to the fans that the actors weren’t even invited to the event.
I’m very disappointed.
Epic fail, PCA.
I’m thrilled Supernatural won but it’s totally mean and disrespectful that the cast of the show was not even invited to the show. Last night should have been a happy time for everyone in this fandom but instead we had to learn that out guys were upset because they were not invited. I don’t know about the rest of the fans but I couldn’t make myself be happy about our wins knowing that Jared and Jensen were upset and got screwed over.
Why not invite the most of winner: Johnny Depp, supernatural cast….
Best moment in last night’s PCA Awards show? Amidst all the bland and amateurish drivel, Chloe Mortez’s acceptance speech in the “Favourite Movie Star Under 25″ stood out for its sheer elegance, clarity and maturity (something sadly lacking in many of the adults’ acceptance speeches, especially Adam Sandler’s appallingly comments in bad taste on teachers).
Worst moment? There were so many bad ones that it’s hard to pick?
Maybe the absense of actual awards on an award show is my choice for worst thing about last night’s PCAs. I keep waiting and waiting for the important categories to be announced (like Best TV Drama, Best Movie Actor, Favourite Movie, etc.), and then the show ended their being announced. Sorry a few-seconds clip during the largely unwatched pre-show Red Carpet does NOT count!
So, there were time constraints. Big deal! They could have had plenty of time to announce ALL the winners (and mention the nominees and show clips) if there had been way less lame, unfunny skits and poorly rehearsed songs. And the pre-planned “quips” by the presenters tended to take far too long, were obviously unrehearsed given the multitude of verbal fumbles, and were mostly quite, quite flat.
Then, to top it off, the winners of the most important and highly anticipated category, Best TV Drama, Supernatural, weren’t even invited!
2012 PCA — epic FAIL!
I think that it is criminal that Stana Katic was not even nominated. She is one of the finest actresses on the television and Castle is one of the best seriesl.
Just adding my opinion that Supernaturals’ win should have been shown or mentioned on the show. To me, it shows a total lack of respect to everyone involved with Supernatural.
I’m very happy that Supernatural WON TWO PCAs!!! It’s absolutely victory)))) Our fandom is the best and we’ve proved it. Really actors of the best TV show ever haven’t deserved the invitation to ceremony? Is it not a shame to you? Please, next time be more attentive!
I am incensed that you did not invite anyone from the cast or crew from Supernatural to attend your awards show. Traditionally, Best Network Drama is a BIG category and the show winning that honor would get public recognition. Yet you chose to ignore the category all together and insult the show and its viewer by refusing to allow them to participate. This is unacceptable and deserves a public apology.
I understand the ratings were down from last year. GOOD! I suggest that next year you make it clear that the winning shows will be highlighted and that a show will not be snubbed because you don’t like it.
If I new how or what twitter was, I image everyone I though should have won would have…I wonder what they call it ‘twit’ter? hm..
I have been reading all the comments from the show last night and how you treated the Supernatural cast/crew and fans that voted. I honestly feel you owe a PUBLIC apology to all the metioned above. You put on this show you say is all about what the PEOPLE want. We, fans, spend hours on your web site voting for our favorite show. Is’nt that what you want us to do? Then when the winner is not who YOU want you stoop so low to not even recognize it during the show. Don’t even mention it! Whatever I say here is only going to be a repeat of what eveyone else is saying. However, I will repeat that you OWE Supernatural an apology. A huge apology. They deserve an explanation for why their award was not mentioned during the show and we all know it is not because of time so don’t even try to use that as an excuse. The only way to save face at this point is to be honest. Admit it was because it was Supernatural that won and that if it had been any other show it would have been aired. Apologize NOW!!!! It’s the least you can do.
“People’s Choice Awards?” Really? Now, which people are we counting? Certainly not the ones who voted for BEST NETWORK DRAMA, that little-bit-of-nothing category. Makes it pretty clear the PCAs don’t truly value the voters, but opt to showcase the mainstream, easy-to-sell, hipster properties. You guys missed the opportunity to grab a LOT of viewers and cred. I, for one, didn’t watch when I heard Supernatural was totally dropped from any presence on your show, even after scoring two wins. And I won’t watch the PCAs in the future. What’s the point? My vote doesn’t matter.
Why not invite Jared and Jensen? Shame on you. And to top it of you only showed the clip of them during the red carpet ting. Best drama is usually a big award. You should at least have showed the clip of Jared and Jensen during the actual show.
I wasn´t able to watch live the awards so when I heard that Supernatural had won two I searched for pics of Jared and Jensen accepting them. My jaw dropped when I read what had happened, I still can´t believe that two amazing actors (and the whole TV show) were treated in such rude, insulting way.
Yeah, I voted for them, but I would think the same with anyone. I honestly hope that this situation doesn´t repeat the next year. Hell, to make amends, the whole SPN cast should be invited since now for PCA 2013.
I would have a favourite part IF SUPERNATURAL cast had been invited.
So no, thanks.
Achei um absurdo voces não convidarem os atores de SUPERNATURAL Jensen e Jared, já que eles ganharam duas importantes categorias! Gostaria de saber por que eles não foram convidados.
I loved when you recogized the Best Network Drama: Supernatural up on stage! Oh wait….
Just because my show doesn’t have sparkly vampires or lip synched celebs, doesn’t mean it shouldn’t matter.
this show was such a sham, it really had me wondering who controlled the counting process, concidering who won and those who didn,t. i think some like the big bang theory, taylor swift, foo fighters, blake shelton, and dexter would have won easily.
I loved the part where Jensen and Jared was up on stage after winning their two awards, and got to thank their fans for their love and support… Oh, they didn’t get an invite? I must be confused.
that’s incredible. I am shocked, angry, and apalled. I cannot believe they were not there, not recognized and not invited for such major cateogires. I can’t believe it. This is not the People’s Choice Awards. I’m done with them. They do owe a huge apology to the people, but most especially to the actors and the show.
FUKKIN’ MAKE A FORMAL APOLOGY TO SUPERNATURAL YOU S.O.B.S!!!!
It’s apparent, the only people who voted were 12-year-olds and Kim Kardashian.
I was so excited about Supernatural being nominated for two big awards to not even see them recognized, attend or even accept the awards was just ridiculous. Im so tired of this show winning everything all the time and they still don’t get the recognition they deserve. I waited all night to find out. You need to listen to the FANS. SUPERNATURAL is amazing. I think we have said how we feel. Now appreciate them. A show that is so overlooked.
My last comment was REAL LONG, but I am Still PEEVED that Superntural got snubbed!! yall owe us the SUPERNATURAL FANS, but most importantly Jensen Ackles & Jared Padalecki plus the rest of the SPN FAMILy an appology!! I have never in my life heard of an awards show not showing nominations for the FAV/Best Network TV Drama Show must less not even announcing the nominations & who won Yall didn’ even acknowledge that category & when you had the “Pretty Little Liars” girls say as an after thought & the winner of Fav Scifi/fan is Supernatural Yeah! it wasn’t the girls from PLL it was the shows fault!! I mean you had fav cable Network Drama & Fav Cable Sitcom announced & showed the actual people but you couldnt let the fans of Superntural see their guys & show get their awards, sure they wasn’t there but a lot of award shows will set it up via satellit or if you recorded it earlier you had time cuz Harry Potter’s people wasn’t there even tho I adore all of them, why couldn’t you have announcer FavNetwork TV Drama winner is Superntural & they also one for FavScifi/fan & her they are earlier accepting their awards!!! I don’t think that would’ve been SOOO difficult!!! This is an outrage & it is EXTREMELY HORRIFIC that these guys Jared&Jensen have been on an awesome Drama show with a Huge Fandom following for 71/2 years They go USA wide for fan conventions 2 meet us & also go all over the world & npw have a Japanese Anime Cartoon called “Supernatural” based on the original show & they still have 2 prove they are worth well I SAY SCREW THAT & In the words of Dean Winchester “CRAM IT WITH WALNUTS, UGLY!”
& 2 THE DUMB A** Estellex you are just jealous cuz in your wildest dream you could never be as Great Looking & Talented as Jared Padalecki&Jensen Ackles! & Besides they are celebrating their A**e* Off in Celebration of 2 PCA Fav Network TV Drama & Fav Scifi/fantasy show & what r u? R U on TV or just won an AMazing Fan based Voting Awards??? & there is no cure 4 STUPID just to let you know if needed it 2 fix your STUPIDITY!!! Get a life if all you have 2 do is talk smack bout ppl u don’t even know!!!
My favourite moment was when the supernatural actors got on stage to accept two awards, Drama being the major one, and having it broadcast during the show..
OH THATS RIGHT IT DIDNT HAPPEN.
Where was the invite to cast of “Supernatural”? Best drama is always on the broadcast – until “Supernatural” wins it?
I won’t be watching next year, nor will I support the sponsors gave up so much time to.
Worst moment – when you ran the CVS commercial during the show with the four women getting the other women dressed. To quote my wife, “You just lost me. Change the station.”
Too disappointed to register any best moments, worst moment – shoddy treatment of voters, fans and Best TV Drama and syfy show winners- Supernatual. Dont think I will bother next year.
People choise? you should change your name…i made my choice and voted with enthusiasm my favorite TV show(Supernatural) and you did what?? you announce the award while the red carpet is on and you don’t even invite the actors?? really? this is frankly ridiculous! Ok Supernatural is a little show but with great quality, very talented actors and a huge fanbase. The PCAs should be ashamed of there selves for not inviting Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki. I watched the ENTIRE show to see if they would win and neither one of their categories were even aired and then I find out they were never even invited!!??
It’s called the PEOPLES CHOICE AWARDS and a lot of fans who, who last time I checked, are PEOPLE were severely disappointed.
It breaks my heart for the cast and crew as well as the amazing fans.
But congrats to Supernatural for winning. We voted but we can’t seem to make the big wigs appreciate your achievements. Hopefully they at least know that the fans love them and have there back no matter what.
Congratulations to Supernatural for winning favorite network TV drama AND sci-fi/fantasy show. They definitely deserved the win. I was very dissapointed that we didn’t get to see the stars at the show. Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki should have been there, they are incredible actors but I’m just glad that the show took home both awards it was nominated for.
I didn’t vote for Supernatural. Of course, I wish the show I voted for had won. Darn. But still, how do you not air the award for Favorite Network TV Drama on the broadcast or even invite the winners? It’s not like that was a minor category.
No Supernatural cast or crew members invited, yet they ARE what the people wanted – they won! I hope you see how you failed at the entire concept of “people’s choice”. F A I L E D
My favourite moment was when Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki got on stage to accept two awards – Favorite Network TV Drama and Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy Show…oh wait THAT DIDNT HAPPEN BECAUSE YOU DIDNT INVITE THEM
Not invite cast of Supernatural it was something very stupid and sucks !!! Еntire network talk about it, facebook and twitter are overwhelmed with angry comments of fans who wanting to see Jensen and Jared!
WOW!!!! I didnt watch this year and from all Ive read I DID NOT!! miss a thing except your blatant disrespect for the cast of Supernatural. I’ve looked at the pics of the ladies and gents but NO ONE!! stands out anymore.Plain Janes and rumpled up suits on the men. Seems the only thing you all agree on is this..Kaley Cuoco was her always funnt self and seems to have held this poor pathetic show together ALONE!! BTW Adam Sandler..I’ve NEVER found your humor funny and now to down/diss our teachers? SHAME ON YOU ADAM SANDLER!! I am sure you will think of SOMETHING/SOMEWAY to apologize.
I can’t believe that The Big Bang Theory lost best network comedy to How I Met Your Mother. “Mother” is stale and boring. The only reason I can come up with for Big Bang Theory losing is because of Mayim Bialik. Her addition to the cast hurts the show. Her character is derivative anyway…the show doesn’t need two Sheldon’s! And as for best new drama…how could Person Of Interest win? The show isn’t the least bit interesting! Secret Circle should have gotten the win! Besides which, Kaley Cuoco rocked as the host!
I’m frankly just confused as to why no representative for Supernatural was invited and no mention was made to their two wins.
Robbing the fans, crew and cast of a moment to accept their two awards clearly showed bias against Supernatural.
I thought it was called “People’s Choice” not “We’ll Pretend it’s People’s Choice Until it No Longer Suits Us”.
The cast of “The Big Bang Theory” was robbed! They should have won the award for Best Network Comedy. “How I Met Your Mother” isn’t even mildly amusing. That show was no good when it started and it’s seriously overstayed its welcome! Two thumbs down!
My favorite moment? Seeing Jared and Jensen accepting their Best Network Drama award…..oh wait THAT DIDNT HAPPEN BECAUSE YOU DIDNT INVITE THEM
sorry so mad I said Haley instead of Kaley. At least I can admit when I make a mistake wonder if pca will apologize to supernatural and Best Actor Dah!
Wow RUDE!!!! How about next year you don’t invite anybody and then that way they all can except their awards over the TV. I believe you owe not only the cast and crew of supernatural but their fans as well, I was really looking forward to their facial expressions when they got awarded for not one but TWO awards… I will be waiting for my personalized signed autograph from Jensen and Jared.. And an apology from you at the peoples choice awards……
Really disappointed to find out that one of my favorite shows Supernatural won not one but 2 awards and were excluded from the presentation.
Jared, Jensen and the rest of the staff and crew deserve better than that. They even prepared something and it wasn’t even shown. It would have been really nice to see some different faces instead of the same people (Even if they are deserving too) that we see all award season long.
Tsk tsk tsk. Not the PCA I grew up watching from the start.
I am so glad everyone else feels the same way. They treated J & J like unimportant actors when they are 2 of the best! Best actor Johnny Depp! No mention tell me he doesn’t matter! I voted for both and watched just for those reasons and it really sucked that they were not there. Insult to the winners and to us fans. Good thing I dvrd Ghost Hunters should have watched that. Haley good. The rest acted stupid half the time. Lame lines. Peoples choice yes, but who set this up was stupid.Personal disappointment was I am H50 fan love Alex. So Yeah to us fans who voted and got our boys their awards and Nay to PCA ratings will be less next year ya think!!!!
Big disappointment! I wish I hadn’t even gone to the trouble of watching. I think I wore out my remote flipping back and forth for two hours. Wanted to see one award and they didn’t even show it. This show really sucked! Next year, I’ll just go online and save myself the aggravation.
Adam Sandlers rant on teachers was deplorable. He needs to aplogize.
You are right, people were thrilled with Supernatural winning big. You know what people are not thrilled with? The fact that you couldn’t be bothered to invite the cast to accept the award(s) live. You might think that Supernatural is too small of a show to waste your time on (which you clearly do), but the bottom line is, this is supposed to be PEOPLES CHOICE. Supernatural won, they should have been invited.
Good host, horrible show! I had to rewind thinking I had fallen asleep and missed Best Actor award, but no! I had to get online afterward to see who won, wished it had been Robert Pattinson! I think Kaley did a great job but she was the only high point on this show. I always look forward to the Peoples Choice Awards because the people vote instead of the 100 yr old critics.
How do you have an AWARDS SHOW and NOT hand out AWARDS??? I took the time to VOTE at least PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS could have taken the time to hand out the awards. If you wanted me NOT to ever watch again- THEN YOU SUCCEEDED!!!!!!!!!!! I gave up watching and found the reruns of The Big Bang Theory on TBS to be more entertaining.
Kaley Cuoco was really good, but why was she shouting? Was the sound that bad?
The set was like a cave, and most of the “personalities” acted like cavemen AND cavewomen.
Did the two female singers (one was Faith Hill) have to sing F O R E V E R!!! Both were TOO long…I watched half of “Revenge” while they were singing.
The other singer must not have practised (what is her name?) because she was off key, and looked surprised when the music stopped, which was much too late.
Overall the show was choppy, and the commercials tasteless.
Totally disappointing, except for funny Kaley whose only fault was her UGLY DRESSES. The Laura Ingalls dress was an improvement.
Bad move PCA but not inviting the stars of the show that won TWO awards and not even bothering to show the awards on air. You really should be ashamed of yourselves!!!!
Do not enjoy award shows where the winners already know.
I was so excited that Supernatural was nominated for 2 awards. This great show has been overlooked for years. I tuned in to see them win….WTF No presentation, no list of nominee’s just an after thought. Oh by the way, supernatural won the award. Very disappointed. Best new drama was presented along with all the nominees and no one was there to accept the award for the show that won but that was ok???
Morgan Freeman
Adam Sandler
Maroon 5
Kaley Cuoco did a great job with what she was given. That’s the only nice thing I can say about the PCA. I thought the entire awards show was awful. To give Castle the TV Crime Drama award while Nathan Fillion was exiting the stage from his thank you speech was beyond rude. To top it all off, not to invite anyone from Supernatural, which won Best TV Drama and Best SciFi, was despicable. You couldn’t even air their acceptance speech during the ceremony. Guess what, not everyone got to see the online redcarpet 30 second cutaway to the video of their acceptance speech. What a let down this show was. It’s supposed to be for the fans, not the producer or the network. All that hype about voting and you disregard–no you disrespect–the fans. So enraged and disappointed with this organization and network.
Adam Sandler was RUDE. His disrespect for teachers was sad! He was not funny. Noticed the audience did not laugh. Don’t want to see him again! Not funny!
The WORST awards show…..how can you not even present some of the major awards or not even announce them??!?!? Harry Potter DH2 won 4 awards and the only one I saw announced was Book adaptation?!? And that was announced as an after thought. Johnny Depp….was that even announced that he won? I had to rewind the show because it felt like I missed an hour or so..but, nope. The show was horrible.
YEA THANKS ALOT I WAITED TO SEE SUPERNATURAL TO GET THEIR DUE AND I GOT TO SEE THE OTHER SHOW NOMINATED AND DIDNT WIN cough cough Vampire Diaries…because your pic didnt win it didnt get televised…wont be watching again thanks
You didn’t invite the cast of Supernatural? What? That’s really disrespectful.
This show is unique in history and has two magnificent actors we are very proud of.
That was a big mistake. Its like this little show is dismissed by you on purpose!
I wish we could go back to the time when talent was celebrated, and not pushed to the side for some shameless publicity. CVS pharmacy…really? I thought this was about the “People’s” choice. We voted for our favorites…oddly enough…to see our favorites! Shocking, I know! We want to see our favorites accept the awards we the “people” voted on, not some stupid skit that is poorly written. Peoples Choice Award for worst awards show ever…goes to the 2012 People’s Choice Awards! I think I would rather watch a two hour long special on how to make a macaroni necklace, than to sit through that again.
I wonder what you were actually thinking not inviting the cast of Supernatural who won 2 awards, one of which being for favorite network drama? Not only is it blatant disrespect towards the show, but it also disappointed a large number of people who had spent their time voting for the show to win. It’s obvious that if any other show had won (ie. The Vampire Diaries) they would have been on stage to accept their award. As it was the PEOPLE’S choice, the people should have been allowed to see them accept the award. Otherwise, why should we bother even watching the award show?
I am confused on why they did not present the best movie award! That is the biggest one and it was NOT presented live. I’m certain if Twilight wins it next year they will ensure that it is presented live. They didn’t present any of the Harry Potter awards. What a joke.
Just one question: WHY bother making a show out of the PCA at all when you so obviously do not care in the slightest what the fans wish to see and who actually won which awards? I would understand not being able to hand over an award on air because the relevant person couldn’t attend, but not even TRYING to invite them? You do realise that the “people’s” choice won’t necessarily be even remotely similar to yours, right? That said, either keep your bias out of the awards altogether or find a more suitable name for it.
Cause what you have right now is not an award to me, it’s a giant slap in the face for all those who dare to like something you can’t be bothered with and the actors that got the show there in the first place! In other words: an insult.
The Peoples Choice Awards have always been my favorite show, but laat night was absolutely the WORST awards show, bar none of any I have ever seen.
It was filled with what I call worthless “junk” and gave no recognition to the people who actually won. One of the worst ones was giving out the award to the show “Castle”. It appeared to be a “oh, here I forgot to give this to you” moment.
Shame on all of those who created this mess.
I sat through an hour of that hot mess and gave up in disgust at 10:00. Can you please tell me what the showrunners had in mind by creating 43 categories, and then giving out almost none of the awards on the air? And instead, filling air time with unfunny, poorly written skits?
Yes, I’m offended on behalf of Supernatural, and all of the fans (including myself) who voted for the show, ensuring its win in two categories – and also on behalf of the winners of ALL the categories who weren’t deemed worthy of being showcased on the air.
POORLY DONE, PCA. *Very* poorly done.
So you have 5 or 6 shows (5!!!not 100) nominated for best network series and you DO NOT invite a cast nominated????REALLY?? are you really that ignorant and totally stupid or what??BAD BAD MOVE! seriously..this is so unf####g believable and so disrepectful non only toward the Supernatural cast but even toward all the fan that VOTED!!! you hear??!WE voted your contest!!is this people choise awards right??? so..you better explain to us and find some excuse.YOU SUCK!!!
This was the worst people’s choice ever!!! I hate even referring to it as “people’s choice”! It was completely unorganized, there were no celebrities (aside from Robert Pattinson), and most of the awards that I tune in to see weren’t even announced!! Too many corny skits! Next year remember that this is an award show for the PEOPLE. Give us what we want!!!!!
so you have 5 nominations for the best drama network series and you do NOT invite the cast nominated?? really? are you people so ignorant and lame or what????BAD BAD MOVE!this was not only completely disrepectful toward the Supernatural cast but even toward all the fans that voted…is it people choise awards right??? so you have to answer and better explain to us. so unfu####ing believable i can’t even!!!YOU REALLY SUCK!
Giulia
Regarding the blatant “Supernatural” snub: for some strange reason, I thought this was the “People’s” Choice Awards, not the “Our” Choice Awards. Thanks for setting me straight. I won’t bother watching next year.
First, when you’re insulting someone else, please attempt to look intelligent. Snubbing the Supernatural cast & crew was the final straw. The People’s Choice Awards show is no longer about the people’s choice it’s about politics and the director’s skewed view. Not seeing major categories presented live negates the purpose of televising. I’ll no longer be recognizing the validity of the show.
My thoughts on the whole night in general was that it really sucked. I was super excited to see the cast and crew of Supernatural finally be recognized for their hard work and see them accept their awards but what i got instead was a bunch of crap. Not only were they snuffed out but i also heard they werent even invited. Really? How rude and unproffessional. I mean for Cas sakes its not like they won a silly category. They won best TV Drama and Sci-Fi/Fantasy. Isnt tv drama one of the biggest categories?
Just asking- But why Supernatural cast wasn’t invited? Probably the half of those million voted what you received were for Supernatural. NOT inviting the cast of Supernatural was the worst thing to dod. I’m pissed..Why all those TVD cast members were there? They are not better than Supernatural, Supernatural won 2 awards, TVD none, just Nina did. So..I think you should show some respect to fans who voted.
PCA 2012. That was the WORST awards so I have ever seen!
40 plus awards and only about half of them were presented live.
To Mark Burnet, this show isn’t about the performers it’s about the people who vote for them and to have to go to the web site to find out who won, is horrible planning. We took our time to vote and you should be showing the results. to heck with the skits, most of them were dumb anyway. I wanted to see what impact my vote had on the outcome. I understand that the plan was that if a winner couldn’t be there you wouldn’t present the award live, but awards like Favorite Movie Actor (especially when you did the Favorite Actress catagoy), Favorite Reality Show and Favorite Female Vocal, these are BIG catagories and should have been played out and annouced that the winners couldn’t be present. You forget, the audience doesn’t know who’s winning or losing and it’s the anticipation in each catagory that makes watching award shows fun, not mindless skits. In the future, please realize that your audience is more intellegent than you may think.
Or maybe People’s Choice should be produced by someone else in the future, as it seems that the long time producer Mark Burnet has run out of creativity and common sense. I’m sorry I waisted my time both voting and watching.
Supernatural won 2 awards! I can´t believe the show wasn´t even mentioned at the ceremony – and no one was invited. It´s a slap in the face for the fans who voted so hard!
I was very disappointed that you did not give Supernatural its due. The show won 2 awards and yet you could not even show their thank you video. The fan base for Supernatural is extremely loyal ask CW, we take it very personally when our boys get the screw. I will not be watching you again, or having anything to do with the sponsors of the show.
I can understand skipping the presentation of the Best SciFi award because of time constraints. But Best Drama? Really? Talk about bias- I doubt the PCAs would have acted so shamefully towards any other show . And you got to love the irony of an awards ceremony disrespecting the very fans it’s supposed to be celebrating. If the PCA can’t be bothered with Supernatural and its fans, I can’t be bothered with the PCA.
We wanted to see Jared & Jensen accept the award on the event for all supernatural cast, crew and fandom but it did not happen. This is an insult, obviously the people’s choice was not.taken into consideration. shame on you
This was the most poorly produced award show I have ever seen. The host was good but I feel like I somehow missed an hour of the show somewhere. And it died suddenly at the end, what happened?
Best dressed- Lea Michelle
The producers of the Peoples Choice Awards show have very clearly displayed their bias against Supernatural. It won not one but two awards, one being Best TV Drama and no one from the show was invited to attend. No mention of the win during the actual broadcast, just a 30 second cut-away during the red carpet which was only streamed on-line. Shameful!
You call yourselves The Peoples Choice and the people chose, but I guess you feel we chose wrong, I noticed that their were several cast members from The Vampire Diaries, which did not win.
Booo to about 90% of the winners! Im completely disappointed!
NOT invite the cast of Supernatural it was something very shameful…..I’ve never seen anything so disrespectful
NOT inviting the cast of Supernatural despite the fact that they won TWO awards is the rudest, most disrespectful and most unprofessional thing I have ever seen from a major award.
It was promoted that the Favorite Network TV Drama award will be presented live, but instead it was presented in 30 seconds with a video in the online pre-show and not a single mention about the win on the air.
Shameful PCA! Utterly shameful!!! You insulted the winner and you insulted the fans who voted for them. Well done.
In an unprecdented snub for a major award winner, no representatives of Supernatural were invited to present awards, and neither award was presented during the ceremonmy.
Unfreakenbelievable that Supernatural won two awards, won BEST DRAMA, and they weren’t even mentioned on the air. That has to be the most insulting, lame….
You should be ashamed of yourselves. Seriously.
lea michele’s speech was super sweet
and she was best dressed!
My favourite moment was when Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki got on stage to accept two awards, Drama being the major one, and having it broadcast during the show..
OH THATS RIGHT IT DIDNT HAPPEN.
