Awards Recap # 1 – Pick Your Best Moments…

Wow…what a show last night. The 2010 People’s Choice Awards pretty much owned the evening. Did you catch it? I was there, alongside a zillion other screaming fans and I have to say that, pretty much, the people got what they asked for. As in, two words: Johnny Depp. Among other things. I was there blogging in the audience and I have to say I was pretty blown away by the talent in attendance and on stage. Queen Latifah ran the thing beautifully, I thought.Twilight & New Moon’s Taylor Lautner & Kellan Lutz made sure nobody’s lungs were malfunctioning  in the audience.  Carrie Underwood was on fire, Cobra Starship RULED I felt  (even though I was pretty unfamiliar with their work until somewhat recently) and the most embarrassing thing for me to admit? Mary J. Blige…what PIPES! (Duh). And then there’s Glee. Did we mention how great it was that the People Chose Glee??  I was over the moon with this. What were your highlights? Voice your choice in today’s featured poll and tell us which PCA 2010 moment was your own personal favorite. Was it:

1) Hugh Jackman

2) Sandra Bullock

3) Johnny Depp

4) Mary J.  Blige

Well, i caught the show.. but sadly i was just hugely dissapointed as music and movies are a huge part in everyday life and i can see actors and singers use a huge bunch of their time in life for us.. We thank you… But what i dont understand is, common country music, rap music, teen shows that are just coming out, & TWILIGHT OMG!! yah we all know teenagers love Jacob black and Robert Pattinson (for all you reading this i am 18) Its a good movie, i will admit i went to see it, but the real fact is. Remember the name PEOPLES CHOICE AWARDS.. because im pretty sure, 60 percent of the people in this world. Have many diffrent opinions in life and their are things in this world not even mentioned stuff that is for all ages. I for one have never seen a peoples Choice award with the likes of Andrea Bochelli or Celtic Woman, Even the amazing group touring the US for the 3rd time already in 2009 Celtic Thunder, who have sold over 500,000 copies of their CD’s and DVD’s. Life works in mysterious ways! Family comes first and if its something your family can sit down and enjoy all the more too it.. Thanks for letting me state my opinion.

I think the PCA’s should allow one vote per person per internet addy or whatever per voting year. There is no way that anyone can out vote that block of teenage girls who vote over and over and over again. The OTHER demographics have less free time, i.e. jobs and other obligations and just can’t get their “CHOICE” chosen. The past couple of years the results have proved this. If you want “grown-ups”, in other words, anyone over 25 to vote and/or tune in to the awards ceremony, fix the system!

I watched this year’s People’s Choice Awards…what a joke..I felt like they were making fun of getting the awards and it was a joke…the People’s Choice Awards should be the most prestigious event of any awards program for actors/actresses…the fans are what make these people rich and famous and they acted like it was a big joke. I will probably never watch it again. Most of the people who won didn’t even sound sincere and made all kinds of jokes…what a waste of my time…I turned it off half way through the program. It’s too bad that the producers don’t think the fans are important!

I don’t watch People Choice awards because they’re usually so terrible, but thought it had been awhile so I did this year. What a waste of time. This was the WORST awards show I’ve seen in quite a long time. Jeez, next year just post the winners online and forget wasting two hours of peoples’ time. Queen Latifah is the WORST host you could have and the winners seemed pre-planned. AWFUL!

I USE TO THINK TWILIGHT WAS A GOOD MOVIE TILL I OPENED MY EYES AND REALIZED THAT THEY HAD BAD ACTORS AND THE MOVIE MAKES THIS AWESOME BOOK LOOK LIKE CRAP

I’M NOT SAYING SHE’S NOT GOOD ( ACCTULLY I AM)BUT OTHER PEOPLE SHOULD HAVE WON THAT AWARD LIKE PINK OR BEYONCE I FEEL LIKE THIS IS A PITY AWARD. WHEATHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT KANYA MADE HER THIS FAMOUS

I get that people dont like the whole Twilight Saga thing, what i dont get is why people have to constantly be knocking it, it’s not just teen girls I’m 24 and I like it, my mother is 46 and she likes it. This is the PEOPLES choice awards and it just so happens the people like it. GET OVER IT! Oh and I was extremely disappointed that they cut so many award presentations, should have been put together better for sure.

I don’t buy that Lady GaGa won Best Breakout Artist. The whole month before the show Adam Lambert was CONSISTANTLY far ahead. Lady GaGa is great, but I believe Adam won. Less skits, more awards. Cute but filling.

  10. Jam says:

I never watch the actual award show because they always seem to mess it up somehow. I also didn’t want to see any of Twilight’s stars which seem to have been the highlight for some people? :/

I voted for Keith Urban and never thought he’d win Male Artist. Another shout out to Ellen for winning yet another award. She is the best day-time host! Also, I think Carrie deserved the win she got but so did Keith. They both had a fantastic year.

I wanted LOST and Survivor: Samoa to win in their categories and I will be voting for them next time as well.

Overall this award show seems to be about the current trends and fads. Makes sense since it’s the people’s choice but what a crappy year it was for entertainment when Twilight dominates an award show.

Good luck to the nominees next year and congrats to the winners this year.

@ Berserkr – well it was New Moon actually, not that that makes any difference. I loved the book – till it became some sort of emohype…
The film is indeed a piece of trash and I can’t believe all these brainless teenage girls just voted for Taylor Lautner for his abs. I mean, its not like he can actually act.
Just going to the movie is a brainless act and I feel guilty of doing it.
There were way better movies to choose from for the award.

  12. Leslie says:

I was disappointed with the show. Less skits and music and more awards given out, like the one to The Dog Whisperer. I worked that night and taped the show. I was very disappointed that this award wasnt seen handed out on air. I would have loved to see Cesar and maybe Daddy on stage accepting the award.
Most of the actors had crappy speeches, Daddy the pitbull would have been more coherent!
I voted and I would have liked to see all the awards given out.

  13. Melissa says:

Seriously disappointed with the lack of awards shown. I voted a bunch of times for fave sci-fi fantasy show (among other categories) that they didn’t even show the winners for! Couldn’t they have taken 2 minutes out of one of the stupid skits and at least told us who the winners were in the categories they didn’t announce?

I sooo wanted to see Supernatural get it’s due. It has a huge fan base but barely gets noticed. What’s the point of voting if there is no recognition for the winners? Did we really need a bunch of skits & musical performances instead of seeing the people/shows we actually took time out to vote for!!?? Not happy. Grrrr….

  14. Chris says:

I was VERY disappointed that they didn’t show who won all the categories. There were many categories not even mentioned in the show, and you have to go online to see who won them. In a 2 hour show, they had plenty of time to announce ALL the winners, yet they left a large portion of them out.

  15. Roxie says:

You are kidding right? “the people got what they asked for?” I will agree that the people spoke up and the awards went too those who deserved them, but the people also asked for a chance to see those whom they took the time to vote for be given their awards and that didn’t happen for a lot of us.

Instead we got to watch Queen Latifah in stupid skits that were a huge waste of time and lets not forget her taking time away that could have been spent..oh, maybe watching an award being given, to have her picture taken. Queen Latifah wants to play fangirl that’s fine more power to her, but let her do it on her own time not on an award show so badly planed out that major award winners were not shown or even mentioned the people had to go to the peoples choice awards site to find out who won.

If you are going to do a report be honest about it.

  16. Kate says:

Best moment was when HUGH LAURIE was on stage.
I ADORE him and think he is an AMAZING talent.
He deserves every award he wins and more!
KUDOS to Hugh and the team at HOUSE!

  17. Berserkr says:

Just goes to show you how STUPID most people are, Twilight favorite move, UGH gimme a break, what a piece of trash.
