Got a Favorite Movie About Music?

It’s Tuesday…but before we get to what Tuesday means,  let’s first congratulate New Kid on The Block Joey McIntyre on the arrival of his second child; he and and wife Barrett welcomed a boy, Rhys Edward.  Bravo, Li’l Joe.  Now… back to Tuesday, which is when DVD’s and new music hits stores (real ones or virtual ones).  And  if this week’s new releases are any indication, a few Hollywood movie studios are banking on the fact that you’ll either a) put a DVD under the tree asap for someone this season, or that you’ll be b) so stressed out by holidays in the first place that you’ll rent one of these films asap for some good old-fashioned escapist fun.  Why do I think this?  Because the DVD’s on sale today are: The Hangover, G-ForceInglourious Basterds, and Taking Woodstock, among others. Nothing takes the edge off holidays quite like bachelor party disasters, WWII revenge fantasies, armed guinea pigs or bad hair/good music/free love movies, right? Lots of new albums too, like one from Alicia Keys.  Still,  for some reason the more I see what’s out there in terms of DVDs and music, the more it makes me think of movies about music.  As in, where do you all weigh in on music movies? Not soundtracks, necessarily, but the movies that told the story of an artist or a band or even an era  — maybe comically, maybe seriously.  With this in mind, I’ve decided to create today’s poll.  And I’m tossing 4 music movies out there for you all to vote on.  So voice your choice in today’s featured poll and let us know which of these music movies is your fave.

1) This Is Spinal Tap

2) Purple Rain

3) This Is It

4) Saturday Night Fever

I agree. ‘The Middle’ is hilarious and much funnier than ANY of the nominees yet was not nominated?????? The nominees are mildly amusing but ‘The Middle” has me roaring with laughter. Wassup?

I feel that the People Choice Awards is not fair on the choice of shows to vote on and singers. I don’t see the Tyler Perry,”House of Payne”, “Meet the Browns”, and he also had some movies that are not on the polls. For singer Ms. Houston, Michael Jackson, LLCoolJ, on NCIS:Los Angeles, Real Chance of Love2, Roy J 2 show.

From the list of 4 choices I would pick “Saturday Night Fever” which is my second favorite of all time. However why is “Grease” not on the list as it is my favorite?
