Grammy Noms & Fave Ladies Who Sing

By People's Choice | 10:48 am on December 3, 2009

It’s Thursday…who caught the Grammy nominations? Who is in no way surprised that Beyonce and Taylor Swift triumphed here — with ten and eight nominations, respectively. Other big winners (also not terribly surprising) are Kanye, Maxwell and the Black Eyed Peas. Another big non-surprise? Many Grammy nominees are also Peoples Choice Award nominees — think Grammy voters got wise to what the people really like? (What is surprising is that for the first time in years I actually own -and purchased some time ago- not one but two of the nominees for best song: Kings of Leon’s Use Somebody and Beyonce’s Single Ladies). Now — is anyone surprised that Adam Lambert’s scheduled appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live was canceled — with no further comment¬† from the network or the show? Wonder if this has anything to do with his controversial performance on the AMA’s. Hmm. Curious if we will hear more about that. But let’s get back to the Grammy Nominations and take a peek at the ladies tapped in the Best Female Pop category. They¬† are: Beyonce, Adele, Pink, Katy Perry, and Taylor Swift. Pretty talented bunch. I’d be hard pressed to pick a winner there. So, for today, let’s take a look back at the past winners of this category . With this in mind, voice your choice in today’s featured poll and tell us which of these past Best Female Pop Vocalist Grammy winners is your favorite:

1) Adele

2) Amy Winehouse

3) Christina Aguilera

4) Kelly Clarkson

Carrie deserves both awards she can sing her butt off and is always on key. I like Taylor, but Carrie always sings on key and has one of the best voices I have ever heard. GO CARRIE YOU ROCK.

  5. Allison says:

Carrie Underwood is the best vocalist of the bunch! She got 2 grammy noms, but deserved more. Taylor swift can’t sing on key to save her life!

I think Susan Boyle is the best candidate for Grammy. She is the people choice. After we have listen Susan Boyle we recognize how many flaws Beyonce, Gaga and Rihanna have. They could learn a thing or two from Susan. She is the benchmark now and a favorite on all the billboards.
