The Hoff, Cancelled TV & Fave Doc Dramas

It’s Tuesday…the day when lots of music and DVD’s get released. So for all of yesterday’s  Ben Stiller birthday wishers, the really good news is that Ben’s movie Night At The Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian is out on DVD today. Now, for some more good news: Baywatch star David Hasselhoff is “Totally fine and home with his kids”, according to his attorney. The actor/singer/America’s Got Talent judge was hospitalized for undisclosed medical reasons, but he’s recuperating. Meanwhile, in not-so-good news, The Hoff’s ex-wife Pamela Bach was arrested on suspicion of DUI this past weekend …talk about family stress during the holidays.  And now for the bad news –  if you happen to be a fan of TV’s Three Rivers. It seems CBS has pulled the freshman show from their lineup, without much further comment. Similarly, TNT has pulled the plug on the legal drama Raising The Bar, which wasn’t performing up to snuff. It’s genuinely difficult to create a top notch medical or legal drama these days, on account of the whole been-there-done-that thing.  (So does this mean we bring on more reality TV? Hmmm). Anyway, with this in mind, let’s take a look at a few doctor shows that haven’t been axed …or at least ones which enjoyed healthy, robust lives. Now voice your choice in today’s featured poll and tell us which of these medical dramas is your favorite.

1) ER

2) Grey’s Anatomy

3) House

4) Private Practice

like others before me; bring three rivers back. i worked as an organ transplant coordinator. it is another side of medicine. and yes, there are doctors who know all types of medicine because once the patient has a transplant, the transplant doctor cant risked the patient losing the transplant. the patient is on all sort of anti-rejection meds and therefore the transplant doctors are board certified in many orther areas of medicines but they strictly care for the transplant patient. if it is too complicated for them then they will send the patient to a top notch specialist in that area. like the patient who gave his organs away because he knew he was dying i have witnessed that and i was in awe that was actually televised and some human rights group wasnt protesting that scene. three rivers is more realistic than the other medical shows. it doesnt get all hyped up in romances between the characters and stolen glances, the show really keeps its focus on getting transplants for the patients and i think our nation needs to see that esp. because the health reform bill that is going on. like the african who didnt have money for some program but he was a good candidate and he couldnt have the heart because he didnt have the money for the program. I think if you dont bring back three rivers it should be a nationwide boycott. i am tired of watching lame shows that is about the same thing sex, violence, and who is going to jail.

i dont understand why the network is shuffling alex o’loughlin around. he is the hottest male actor to date. george clooney never generated that much heat, especially when he chopped off his curls. and the other guy on grey anatomy there is no contest, oh yeah mcdreamy. alex o’loughlin just looking at him makes you want to do anything anytime anywhere with him and no other male actor has ever got that kind of rise out of me. i have to go back to the golden oldies and look at clark gable or tyrone power for that. the man has star power and you keep cancelling his shows. that smile. maybe there arent any women on this committees that cancel these shows. and those eyes. plus the man can act. george clooney cannot. he is no Deniro or Pacino by any stretch of the imagination. House can dance circles around him any day of the week. I do not go to the movies to see clooney nor do i buy the dvd’s but i would stand in a line to see alex and plus buy the dvd. you guys at CBS better take another look before the BBC or Canada scoops him up; i am telling you the guy is hot and that asian guy on the show is hot too. you honchos are trying to appeal to the younger generation but it is the middle class that has the money to buy the dvd’s, theater tickets, satellites, and give the younger generation money as well. and i am not about to give anybody any money to look at someone who cant act and is not as hot and fine as alex o’olouglin. love ya alex. you got a fan in texas.

O.K. Three Rivers is now history. So why not give MOONLIGHT another chance. I think it would do well with all the vampire craze. CBS is really beginiing to suck. They canceled the Guiding Light, Moonlight, and now Three Rivers. What is wrong with you people?

I was just starting to get into Three Rivers. I think the main problem is that is was so unrealistic. They had one Dr that performed every surgery and procedure that came into the ER. There are many good actors on that show but they only focused on the one, Alex, who I think was the worst actor on the show. There is no Dr anywhere that specializes in ortho, cardiology, burns, etc. My favorite however is Private Practice then Grey’s. House is getting too predictable and annoying.

  5. Faith says:

Three Rivers was the best show on tv, period. CBS made a huge mistake, I will never watch CBS again.

  6. Metta Johnson says:

As many have already stated, bring back Three Rivers. It showed a different side of medicine–organ donations. I agree if we all quit watching CBS, they might listen to viewers opinions.

The time slot for 3 Rivers was not good as football ran over often. A better week night slot could prove valuable.

  7. Marilyn says:

Three Rivers is a great show, what’s wrong with the so-called “smart ones’ at CBS
