Happy Monday! Happy Post-Halloween (and post-trick-or-treating-did-you-stop-the-kids-from-ingesting- every-bit-of-chocolatey-goodness within a ten-mile radius of your home?) Or, did you enjoy the requisite costume party for adults where you spend tons of time wondering if your costume’s innovative and “fun” enough only to realize — a day later – that it really didn’t matter so much because everyone had a great time anyway? Just so long as everyone remembered to set the clocks back. But let’s get to the entertainment stuff. As in, Michael Jackson’s movie This Is It brought in over $101 million dollars worldwide this weekend…that’s quite a showing for the King of Pop…did you catch it? And now begins our cinematic trek towards the holiday blockbusters…your New Moon, Invictus (from Clint Eastwood, starring Morgan Freeman & Matt Damon) Sherlock Holmes, Avatar, 2012 and other films that’ll be probable moneymakers. Speaking of moneymakers, Carrie Underwood’s latest album Play On gets released tomorrow, and there are LOTS of excited fans. This American Idol’s momentum has never really slowed, and Play On’s likely to keep her going for a while. Which got me wondering…and here comes today’s poll…which other former Idols are you most excited about? We’d love you to weigh in specifically on a few past Idol winners (as opposed to some of the insanely popular and wildly successful singers who didn’t win, but whose careers haven’t suffered one bit). David Cook. Period. There’s no one else comparable to him. His accomplishments since AI show are phenomenal, and he has a heart as big as his talent, too. He’s been tireless in all of the concert tour stops plus his fund raising for brain cancer. 2 #1 hits on VH1 Top Twenty Countdown, 2 platinum hits off his new CD, and the CD went platinum 3 months after going on sale. Come on, who’s the break out artist here?

What a slap in the face for you to not even allow David Cook to be considered for nomination for any of the categories. As others have noted, a platinum selling album, 2 platinum singles, one of the top 10 hottest tours (which has lasted 9 months so far), selfless charity efforts, and many great live performances on late night and daytime shows do not qualify him….even for consideration for a nomination?

I’d like to remind you that David Cook has had 2 platinum selling singles and a platinum selling record and a tour that has been listed in the top ten hottest tours since its inception last February. I’d like to understand more about your criteria for inclusion in this poll.
Taylor Hicks is so great. HE is my favorite idol to come off of that show, although there are lots of other very talented people to come off the show also. He is the ultimate showman. If you have’t seen him in person, you absolutely should. He is a treat!!
Kelly Clarkson is the greatest Idol ever…she is the greatest singer ever!!! No other “Idol” comes close. Her voice will give you chills. She can sing anything and everything. She is more versatile than any singer out there. Carrie is way overrated, and David Cook really hasn’t done anything. There are NO other “Idols” that are as talented as K.C. There are NO other singers as talented out there either. Her acoustic and acapella performances prove it.
100% agree with ronni. David is a performer and he puts every ounce of his heart & soul into every performance. He’ll catch up with Carrie and Kelly very soon.
