Wow…DWTS finishes another week, there was quite a tribute to the King of Pop, and Olympic star Natalie Coughlin got sent packing…all in less time than it takes to say “what’s next?”

And another thing…since we’re in the latter part of October, with you-know-what beloved holiday just around the corner, let’s focus our attention o something for the kids (in all of us). Here’s what I mean. This past weekend we watched Spike Jonze’s big screen adaptation of the classic childrens’ book Where The Wild Things Are triumph at the box office. It did well ($32 million), and even though it may be a bit risky for the smaller kids, it certainly satisfied a lot of people who were craving a little slice of their childhood brought back to life in glorious color with incredible CGI effects. That said, here’s what I’m wondering, blogwise, today. Given the interest in childrens’ books, which beloved stories from your childhood got big-screen adaptations that YOU liked? (And if you didn’t like any of them, let us know that too). I pulled a few movies that had lots of childrens’ book cred who made it to the local cineplex. STAR Trek is my choice for Best movie of 2009 and for best Actor Johnny Depp, My Best breakout male star would be Chris Pine from Star Trek and best scifi show The Vampire Diaries( what a great new vampire show with a mixture of true blood and Twilight.)

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince ruled this year. Best one yet. Generations down the rode will remember this the series. Sort of like Star Wars. VOTE HARRY POTTER PEOPLE!
I definitely have to go with Harry Potter, they have awesome actors, great special effects, and they were able transition well from the books to the movies.
I’m not going to pretend there weren’t disappointments because some of my favorite scenes were missing, but they still managed to capture the essence of Harry Potter onscreen.

I Think Harry Potter should win, they are brilliant, imaginative and so cool, I hated the at the start but i feel absolutely in love with them at the start of the summer, I have read the over 10 times each and never et sick of them, I really love the way J.K Rowlin used her imagination, she is a very extraordinary woman and she gets my vote any day xoxo Rachel.

The Hangover should clean up at People’s Choice this year as it was officially the suprise hit of 2009. Plus any live action blockbuster that starts getting Golden Globe/ Oscar buzz THIS EARLY, is a good sign. This year’s highest hope is The Hangover. So to all the boys out there VOTE FOR THE HANGOVER!
