Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant
Can’t get enough of vampires? I certainly can’t. Nor can I get enough of the ones where the bloodsucker’s not a fanged baddie, rather he’s a hot good guy who happens to live on blood and doesn’t exactly love sunlight. Plus, there’s good news afoot because in the next few weeks we have not one but TWO vampire flicks headed our way. And get this one: they are directed by brothers. So first we have New Moon...the latest in the Twilight Saga (book two) with Rob and Kristen and Taylor and the whole fang gang and it’s directed by Chris Weitz. And second? Oh, that would be a very cool new film directed by Chris’ brother Paul called Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant. In this one, our hero is a a teen who becomes a half-vampire (and apprentice to a full vampire) in order to save his best friend. Intrigued? I am…and like New Moon, this one is based on bestselling books. Plus, it stars John C. Reilly, Patrick Fugit, Salma Hayek and Orlando Jones. Honestly, I wasn’t hooked on Buffy or any of the early toothy ones, but for some reason in the last year I’ve become pretty psyched about them – and thus am now more than eager to catch whatever vampire fare is headed my way. And the Vampire’s Assistant looks very, very good. Which leads me to ask: who’s your favorite vampire right now? i can’t decide. I LOVE The Vampire Diaries and True Blood…and twilight is good too….but I could never decide lol. I love all 3.
True Blood is the best, of course!

I am stoked for New Moon, but sad to wait till next year for season 3 of True Blood. I currently am enjoying The Vampire Diaries…even my non-scifi husband enjoys it! I probably will go see the Vampire’s Assistant soon too. I can’t get enough of these vampire flix!
