After two days of evaluating some of the new TV shows for fall (you all seem to be most psyched about The Vampire Diaries, Eastwick & Flash Forward, thus far). In the coming weeks, we’ll be asking you about other new shows, plus we’ll have news about the inevitable cancellations. The first casualty? The Beautiful Life, starring (The OC’s) beautiful but recently troubled Mischa Barton…is now no longer, after just 2 episodes. No doubt there will be more cancellations — we’ll keep you posted as the axe(s) fall.
But now let’s talk divas. Madonna’s album Celebration is here this week. Today we have brand new music from Mariah Carey (this one’s called Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, which feels like a somewhat awkward mouthful.) And in other music news, Barbra Streisand is releasing her first full length collection of new studio recordings since 2005. She’s titled this one Love is the Answer and to promote it, Ms. Streisand made a one-time-only appearance at Manhattan’s Village Vanguard — her first since 1961 — for about a hundred very lucky fans ( Bill and Hilary Clinton, Nicole Kidman, and Sarah Jessica Parker among them). We’re told it was a pretty magical evening.

I cant think of Mariah Carey falling over at a Singapore concert last month. She is my idol. I hope she is okay by now

I have tickets reserved from my friend in Singapore to see Mariah Carey’s performance. I am excited to that as it is my first time to see her performing live
