So I turn on my TV last night hoping to catch the new bigger, badder, juicier trailer for the film that will be the year’s guiltiest pleasure: New Moon. Instead, I was totally floored by a ridiculous outburst. Did you happen to catch the 2009 MTV VMA’s? See, given MTV’s ‘no-holds-barred, we’ll-shock-everyone’ approach, I was prepared to be surprised. For a minute. As in, the show’s biggest stunt/mishap/malfunction (you’ll recall that debacle with Emimen and Bruno earlier this summer which was staged). But this show’s shocking is-it-real event really took the cake. To be honest, I don’t know too much about Taylor Swift’s music. She seems to be quite a poised and talented (if wide-eyed) young lady and I was not surprised (given the adoration she seems to get from every 14-year old girl in North America) when she got the nod for Best Female Video. But when Kanye West stomped all over Swift’s win, I was the one who was wide-eyed. He jumped onstage and told everyone how amazing Beyonce’s video was. It was pretty stunning. And I think kind of icky. Nor was it planned. So I thought it pretty classy (and this MAY have been scripted — or at least advised by someone’s publicist or manager) when Beyonce later invited Taylor up to conclude her moment in the sun. Followed by a lot of hugging. So this is what happened and I want to know what you thought. The show seemed otherwise uneventful. Russell Brand wasn’t particularly outrageous — for Russell Brand. There was a fantastic Michael Jackson piece. Gerry Butler introduced Muse which was hot on more than one level. Megan Fox strutted her stuff. J-Lo seemed bored. Green Day was great. But, if you saw the whole Kanye/Taylor/Beyonce debacle, what’s your opinion? I’m not a big Taylor fan ..but what he did was the by far the the ruddest, tasteless act i have ever seen. My hats off to her the way she handeled it with class and style. If it had been me i would have knock him up side stupid head.

I think it was the most arrogant and stupid thing I have ever seen a person do in my whole 58 years of living. Yes, Kanye should be unplugged and I think he should be barred from performing on TV or anywhere else. He had no right to rob this young talented woman of her rewards and honors. She is a very talented young woman in her own right and who does he think he is. I feel it was not only a spur of the moment emotional ping for him, but I understand something similar to this has happened before, and the more I listen the more I think the man is quite racist. Where is the White peoples Al Sharpton? If it was poor old Imus, well he would surely lose his scalp, no doubt. I think it is time to do more than slap these little boogars on the back ofthe hand, give him some change he can believe in. I will not watch the peoples choice awards ever if he so much as shows his little sculpted noggin any where there. He is a real A-Hole pinhead.

Taylor Swift never should have won an award she is a lousy singer.
He looked and sounded still drunk from the MTV Awards show. What little he had to say was unintelligable. The man talks like a moron, and acts even worse.
Kanye is a rasist. He couldn’t stand a teenage who is white won. I feel this is what’s under all this. He needs help, Taylor Swift deserved to have her moment and any ADULT would have been happy for her win, even if they didn’t feel she should of won. That’s what adults do. Kanye needs help.

He is the biggest a-hole of all times…. how old is he 7??? How immature was that… He is not Beyonce’s voice she does not need him speaking for her or about her. This must have totally embarrassed her too. The last part was not scripted on Taylor’s part; she says all she knew was that she was suppose to stand at the end of the stage when Beyonce was accepting her award. I am sure they handed her a mic on the way out there. This whole thing was very sad. She is just a kid who was so damn excited to win that award and that idiot ruined her acceptence speech.

I think Kanye was wrong in how he did it. I do think he was saying what some of us feel. Taylor is taking all the awards with out being a good singer. She needs to pick MTV or Country. He is just a jerk!

I think Kanye’s fame has gone to his head – what was he thinking? That was so totally uncalled for, and I’m glad Beyonce gave Taylor her moment (scripted, most likely since Taylor walked on stage with a mic in hand) but nonetheless… classy.
