Meet The Beatles: 2009!

The Beatles

The Beatles

John, Paul, George & Ringo, we love you yeah yeah yeah. If you’re a fan of the Fab Four — and even if you’re not — you’d be hard pressed to escape the astounding media buzz surrounding the Beatles this week. Because not only are the boys from Liverpool featured on the latest release of Rock Band (Meet the Beatles? How about Be the Beatles!!) but their music is now being reissued. As in reissued for the first time since the 1980s. And these reissues are great big, shiny & glossy affairs, available in various versions and featuring many, many photos and bonus Beatles treats — first, a boxed set with remasters of 14 albums, and the second is a limited edition “mono” (as opposed to stereo) set. That’s a lot of Beatles, and now people are saying that it doesn’t feel dated at all — in fact we’re hearing that the band that captured the hearts & imagination of the 20th century may just do the same thing for the 21st. Think so? Will you buy Rock Band? Will you buy a Boxed Set? Do you have a top ten? A cursory glance at this week’s Entertainment Weekly ranks the band’s 50 best songs. Which leads me to today’s poll…I’d like to toss out to you their  top 4 ranked songs and find out if you agree. Because in the end, everyone probably has a lot more than one favorite Beatles tunes…so voice your choice in today’s featured poll and let us know what you think.

Is one of these your favorite Beatles song?

1) A Hard Day’s Night

2) A Day in the Life

3) Yesterday

4) Strawberry Fields

I was always a beatle fan. Although Paul was my favorite they all had talent. Miss you John and George. Go Ringo and Paul stay single.
