According to Billboard, the top three grossing concert tours for the first half of 2009 belong to Madonna, Tina Turner, and Britney Spears, while Celine Dion and The Pussycat Dolls also rank in the top 25. Grrl Power is alive and well!
Granted, the bulk of the chart is dominated by all-male groups like AC/DC, Metallica, Coldplay, Iron Maiden, Nickelback, Oasis and the Eagles (along with dudes like Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Elton J0hn, Lil Wayne, Kenny Chesney and Neil Young.) But the women h0ld the top three spots.
Why are the girls kicking the boys’ butts? I imagine it’s because the folks who shell out their hard earned money for a concert ticket are looking for a SHOW. You know you’re going to get dance moves and costume changes when you see Madonna, Tina or Britney. No wonder they’re tours have grossed $85 million, $80 million, and $62 million, respectively, so far this year.

Honestly, the most unique, talented and beautiful singer I would love to see perform is Gwen Stefani!
Britney is one of my favourite singers. She is hot, she is beautiful and most of all she has great tallent.
That’s the difficulty I have with her. She’s an breathtaking singer. It is so disappointing to see her destroy it by being caught up in all that awful garbage. The girl could go to rehab, or book into a help program, or get a more competent personal coach. Will she tour in future? I’d sell my granny to see her perform, her concerts are really brilliant.
I have watched almost every concert of Britney Spears. She is truly a goddess of the pop music industry. I wish that she gets more success .
