Walter Kronkite
CBS Newsman Walter Cronkite, “The Most Trusted Man in America,” died on Friday at the age of 92.
Cronkite hosted the CBS Evening News for 19 years, from 1962 – 1981, where he reported on all the major events of the world. Although many of us are too young to remember some of his original broadcasts, we are very familiar with his role as the predominant news voice in America.
Among his many landmark achievements, he informed the country about the tragic news of President John F. Kennedy’s assassination, the excitement of the Apollo 11 moon landing (40 years ago today), and the Watergate scandal that lead to the resignation of President Richard M. Nixon.
