Michael Jackson Memorial

20,000 fans filled the Staples Center yesterday for a star-studded tribute to the King of Pop. The ceremony lasted for hours and the world watched while friends and family paid their respects to Michael Jackson and his legacy.

Heartfelt, emotional speeches came from his daughter, Paris, and old friend Brooke Shields. Kobe Bryant and Magic Johnson spoke, and Queen Latifah read a poem by Maya Angelou. And there were incredible music performances, including:

    I hope with all my heart everyone got the same education as I did, and maybe they will think twice before they think of him as a freak. I never realized all the things MJ did in this world to bring people together. Now in listening to his music it makes sense,it all had meaning. He was an amazing man.

    Did anyone find it odd that MJ’s children were so exposed throughout the special? MJ spent the majority of their lives covering their faces. I just thought what he would think if he could look down and see that the public was seeing them in mourning. Just a thought..
