Christian Bale Does Something Classy

So the Dark Knight wins and everyone takes to their feet and it’s a really powerful moment and then it gets better because Christian Bale raises the statuette and says “this is for Heath”. Which was, I thought, a pretty tasteful way to end what’s turned out to be quite a fun evening indeed. Never mind Paris’ shoes. By the way, this is Liz Warner signing out — it’s been marvelous watching the People’s Choice Awards with all of you, and I must say I really have enjoyed your comments and feedback — thank you for being a part of this with me — I hope you all enjoyed this show as much as I did. So thanks for tuning/logging in. Cheers.

The only reason Dark Knight won is because one of it’s lead characters is now dead…and he was the only thing in the movie that was good. Heath Ledger was brilliant in the roll of the Joker, it’s truly sad he’s gone. Batman, however, was typical and rather boring. Wasn’t there anything better to choose from on the list?

SC , which show were you watching, she looked like barney in that dress and you could make out the underline of her body suit to hide the rolls.
MS & Atlanta, Obiously saw what i saw, everyone just seemed so uncomfortable and she obiously did no prep for her intro, prolly cause she was partying it up in Trinadad for the holidays and just got back.
I don’t want to take anything away from Christian Bale or Heath Ledger ,BUT as what holds true to form in each and every awards show in a year when an actor dies tragically after having a movie released ,They feel that to honor that person they should award him accolades posthumously and that more deserving actors are swept under the rug for thier performances. I feel that this is, although admirable, wrong. Some actor will give the performance of a lifetime in a roll perfectly suited for them only to be overlooked because of an untimely passing. I for one would feel robbed….Any thoughts?

@ MS: Well, it wasn’t a complete waste of my time. I mean, now I know never to watch it again…
Seriously, the crowd was odd and didn’t react properly to anything. Plus all the folks sitting in the orchestra seats were so stoic it was hard to tell if they were alive. Very weird vibe.

I thought the entire show was a disaster. Queen Lafata was annoying with the introduction and got worse as the night went on. The whole show was a waste of 2 hours.

I for one thought that she’s still looking great, and that purple dress she started in… she looked amazing in… she should have worn that all night! Queen L. did a great job. Wish we saw/heard more from her!

Christian Bale was very nice honoring Heath, who will be missed alot. You could see the emotion in christian as he gave the speech. The dark knight deserved to win all those awards. R.I.P. Heath Ledger!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went to the “People’s Choice Award’s” as a seat-filler. It was very touching what Christian Bale had said. When he said it, throughout the whole theater you felt this weird presence over power you. As I told my family, “When I was there, it was real, you felt Christian’s emotions. It had filled the room. It was very over powering.” I am glad he said that, I was expecting it. We love you Christian, Aaron, and everybody else who got to enjoy the presence of Heath Ledger in his time of life. May your name live on, not only as being the Joker, but it should be recognized as a great person who you always were and still are. We need to look at your last performance as your greatest, and your name, to show the true person who you were. I love you man! I wish you could have lived longer so I could have met you, the great person you are.

What was up with Queen Lafatta? did her and Jenny Craig have a falling out ? Must have eaten too many Roti on her Trinadadian vacation…

Congratulations to Christian Bale on his People’s Choice Award. He is VERY deserving of it! For certainly not knowing him personally, I agree with Liz; I’ll always think of Christian with CLASS after accepting the People’s Choice Award in ‘honor of Heath’. Heath’s amazingly high level of talent was an ‘honor’ for us to watch through his film career! I hope Heath realized how much we truly respected and appreciated him.

I was waiting for the Dark Knight moment all evening. Christian Bale gave me what I was hoping for. Health Ledger is a legend already and this is his last time to shine. Thanks to all the wonderful cast and people who voted for the Dark Knight!

It was a very responsaible and Honorable thing to do!! However, I do feel that the ‘Peoples Choice Awards’ commitie Should have reconized all who Those who have Passed away during this past year. Or did they and I missed that part of the show? ;-(
